Your Highness... Alienor thought, but let it go. Smiling, she turned and walked down a different hallway.

Lots of turns, two sets of false directions, and one pantry later, Alienor walked into the kitchens. "Sir Kimby?"

"'Pologize, miss? Ah..." He got up - intent on speaking with her alone, without the kids - and tripped, falling with the stool to the ground. After a groan, he mumbled, "Oh, bother..."

Alienor rushed forward, holding out a hand. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, I'm-I'm fine." He got up and dusted himself off, then turned back to the kids. "Ah, Katie, Ara, I'm gonna... go for a second..." Nico looked knowingly at Eleanor and gestured with his head to the side, walking over and expecting her to follow. When they were out of earshot, he sighed. "Now why's you apologizin'?"

Katie grinned to herself and leaned in to whisper to Arabella. "It looks like somebody's got himself a girlfriend!" She giggled.

Riva growled and grabbed the top of his breastplate. Ideally, she would have pulled him towards her, but since that would be impossible for her, she instead came closer to him. Caden's breathing quicken, Riva's words cutting deep within him. His hands began to tremble at the thought of this woman being in his life constantly, forcing him to always watch over his shoulder. But he couldn't do anything to change that, so he forced himself to clench his hands to hold hide any tell of how he truly felt. He forced himself to take a deep breath, "it's the king's decision, not mine. Nothing I can say would change his mind anyways . . ."
He hoped with all of his heart that she would pull away, that she would leave him to be alone. He felt his chest tighten, and his fists refused to be released, even if he had wanted them to.

Riva sat back and chuckled. "And Ivian thinks you can handle being married to me..." She shook her head. "You're a coward."

Caden seized up at the accusation, feeling a growl grow in his chest. Before he could even think, he was standing up, his posture become less stiff as he spoke without thinking. He slammed his hand on the wall behind the couch, shouting at the Raveness through his teeth. "I am not a coward, witch!" A voice in the back of his mind tried to scream at him, demanding that he stop, but Caden couldn't hear it over the blood rushing through his veins at this woman's audacity to call him something so terrible. "And I will tell the king that I will go forward with this marriage, even if you threaten me with death!"

To Riva's credit, she did not jump, though she did tense up a bit. She applauded sarcastically. "Oh, my, what a tantrum. I'm so frightened, dear general, you're positively terrifying when you throw a fit."

"Oh, but it's so comfortable here." Riva yawned, stretching her arms overhead. "I think I'll stay," she said with a smirk.

Caden's hand darted forward as if on its own accord. He felt the pressure and anger that had been building up fuel his movements as he grabbed the front of the Raveness's dress, disdainful of the blood. He didn't speak a word, instead his fury at this woman's audacity caused him to growl louder than a dog. As he grabbed the hem of her dress, he yanked her off of the couch and forcefully lifted her over his shoulder as he ignored any complaints she would give.

Caden grimaced at the pain of the Ravenness's razor sharp nails digging into his flesh, but it was trivial to what he had experienced in the past. He stormed to the door, and he tossed the Raveness out as soon as he had opened it. He shouted at her, "Get out!"

Riva landed right on her hip. Pain shot through her, but she managed to channel it into a ferocious screech. "I'll see you at the altar," she growled and spat upon the ground.
