Cilliss was no longer paying attention to the conversation. Cilliss was imagining things no 13 year old should imagine. She was imagining spiking Y in her sleep, and then transferring the memories to herself.

Y laughed. "Villain, hero... They all scream the same when the Void picks them apart. But resources, you say?"

"Well, yes. What else would you use a lair for, other than a place to stay?"

Alein walked into the room, rolling his eyes. "It's not a sandwich, but it's all I could find in the mess we're calling a kitchen." He comes out holding a few granola bars

"There we go," said Y, pleased. Wind snatched the bar from Alein's hand and pulled it to Y's. She took a bite.

"I've never found myself much in need of a place to stay," she replied, mouth full. "We'll be doing a lot of traveling, I expect."

Cilliss looked at the granola bars. "What the Rusts are those?" She said, completely baffled. She went over and took one. "I don't think this is food either..." She looked up skeptically.

"No. I have not heard of this Granola bar thing." she, unsuccessfully, tried unwrapping it. she then grabbed her knife, and cut a line down the wrapper. She then bit into it, and looked at the granola bar. "Is it supposed to taste like sand?" She said apprehensively.

Is that supposed to make me feel better? Chocolate is nasty. It is too bitter. She took another bite, and her eyes widened. Is chocolate different on this world? Because this tastes amazing! "I think chocolate is different on this world. It doesn't taste the same at all!" She took another bite, and quickly ate the whole thing. "On my world, chocolate is nasty!"

"Yes." she said calmly. She looked at Mr. Mustache. "I apologize for threatening to kill you." She smirked. "And you." she said to Y. I still want to disintegrate that mustache of his. "What is the rift thing exactly?" she went to the wall, and leaned against it.

Cilliss just looked at the people in the cave around her, and sighed.

"Well... are we going to do something about it? Because I've got better things to do than sit around."

"I was getting to that," replied Y. "See, the reason that this is happening at all is because this universe is somewhat special. As a secondary capital for the ancient luxsprites, it boasts numerous advanced systems- for instance, the defense system keeping us from leaving. As long as that remains powered, we're all doomed."

“So, we have some sort of ancient machine we need to power down? Sounds doable. How exactly would we get out of here once that’s done?”

Y shrugged. "You just leave. This world isn't exactly isolated, what with it being a former capital and all."
