"Where do you think we could find one of these places? Would you be willing to help me find one once we finish... whatever it is we're doing?"

"Well, there are some temples built on such points, I think. And generally, if you hear of an oracle it'll usually be around such an opening. I will come to help you with that - I have my own reasons to try and contact a Spiritual entity."

Gal follows Talnic while speaking.

Gal follows Talnic while speaking.

-short time skip-

Talnic walked through the large front door of the tower, turned right, and began walking along the perimeter of the tower towards where he hoped the man was still standing.

It was odd for Talnic to consider that he might figure out the origin of his prophecies. They had always been an unexplainable phenomenon, and now that he knew that there was a reason, even though he didn't know what it was, it left him feeling annoyed. He did not like the idea of some external force pushing him to do things.

I wonder if there would be a way to separate us, he thought.

Talnic took a few more steps and the man came into view.

I think Gal will know some languages, though obviously not otherworldly ones. Maybe he'll understand a word or two of what Rylan says. Languages aren't his area of expertise, though, so he won't really be good at that. Just trying to be helpful with the language barrier.

"Oh." Then, for the sake of Valzwyn and Cara, he added. "Me neither."

"Bye" Cara said to Orpheus before making her way back to the kitchen where she left Ni.

Rylan stepped back warily, hearing the sound of footsteps grow closer from around the tower. He raised a curious brow as two figures emerged from the side of the tower. The first was tall, with short dark hair, wearing a large black coat, and the second pale with brown hair. Rylan spoke again in Faldaan, addressing the humanoid creatures before him.

"Pardon my unexpected and uninvited arrival, this kind of thing happens far more often than you would think. Did either of you two slay this mighty beast here?"

Did Val and Veila head off into the secret tunnel? Ni will have remained inside the kitchen on the chair and not followed, but I ask about the tunnel as it would influence other things in his next post.

"Ni, Val, stay here." Cara whispered to them. "I'm going to go check out what's going on."

Ni is pretty simple in thoughts and actions; he was asked to stay where he was, so he did. That isn't to say that he won't follow you down the next secret tunnel you find though, as I do plan for him to spend some quality time interacting with each person as the story goes on. In this case however, there was something else that he needed to do aside from simply staying put...

Placing the small notebook back in the inside pocket on his jacket, Ni let out a muted sigh that resonated both relief and dread. Although the emotions were conflicting, the boy’s mind was not; Ni already knew what he had to do.

Alone in the tarnished kitchen, Ni waited to see if Cara would come back at all. Swinging his legs back and forth as he sat on the wooden chair, the small boy leaned forward in his seat slightly, resting his elbows gently on his knees.

"It sounds similar to elvish," says Gal, baffled, "but not quiet the same. I think he said something about invitations? And maybe about killing a beast?"

And in hindsight, the way I interpreted it might lead to interesting results! I can't wait to see that...

Interpret however you like!

Rylan swept his hands  outwards, seeing the confusion of the two before him. He spoke again in Alderin Dwarvish, hoping to find a language that would be similar enough to one the humanoids before him could understand.

"As I feared, language will be a hinderance... does this make any more sense to you?"

Just now remembered to say... Gal's hair probably won't be visible. He always wears a hat over it, to cover his ears.

Don't trust the pictures too much. I couldn't give Gal owl ears, which is the only reason he has normal ones.

Gal just frowns. "He passed to something that sounds a little like dwarvish... I think he said something about a collapsing cave? I'm sorry. I'm far better in Common than in elvish or dwarvish. Let's see if I can talk to him, though."

Gal starts speaking in broken dwarvish: "Sorry. Understand we not. Do you speak Common?"

Rylan stopped speaking altogether, and thought for a moment. He pointed his finger to the man who had just spoken, and nodded, then drew his finger from left to right across his neck, then pointed to the huge corpse beside him.

Talnic nodded slowly, moving his hand to the sword, not moving his eyes from the stranger. "I did," he said.

Ni snapped his head up as he looked towards Cara, visibly startled by the speed of her return and the suddenness of her heavy question. It took him a moment to process, but Ni quickly hopped off his wooden chair before pointing towards the ground with both hands. However, realizing the possible intrusion that he might be at requesting to stay, the gesture was immediately followed up with Ni placing his hands behind his back with an air of slight embarrassment as the boy looked towards the floor.

Cara sighed in relief. Ni wanted to stay.

"Alright, let's go to The Shadow so you can officially join the group. He's our mostly leader."

Releasing the inhaled breath that he had been holding, Ni’s relief matched that of Cara’s. Quickly returning the chair that he had been sitting on to the wooden table behind him, Ni turned to follow Cara, ready to find what was apparently a very special kind of shadow. A shadow of what though, Ni had no idea.

Cara led Ni around the tower for a little bit, looking for The Shadow. After a little bit, Cara looked out a window and saw The Shadow with Gal, a random person, and a giant dead dragon.

"It looks like The Shadow is outside with a dead dragon." Cara told Ni, wondering if a dead dragon was too gory for him.

Well, I mean if The Shadow lets him stay, he'll probably be seeing some sort of dead animal. Cara thought.

Cara led Ni outside where The Shadow and the scholar person were talking with a random person.

"Hi, The Shadow, um..this is Ni." Cara said, gesturing to Ni. "Can he join our group? He wants to."

Alright Avren is being too slow, he'll just have to powerwalk with Exodus.

*short timeskip to walking down to outside...*

"Shadow," Exodus called. He had loosened his connection with Avren a bit, so Avren could walk off and do... whatever it is he needed to do before Exodus took him away.

"Could I have a word, for a moment?"

, where are Minuet and Ara? Exodus told them to meet him outside last.

Also, maybe Gal can try communicating with Rylan for right now. Exodus needs to say some final words before I can get his group moving.

Minuet made her way down the stairs and outside, where Xeus had told her to go.

Ara followed behind her.
