Exodus glances at her hand and shakes it, after a moment. "You do well in battle, just like Minuet here."

“I... I froze last time we got in a fight.” Ara looked at her feet. “I’m really no use.”

"...How come you froze?" asked Exodus. He hadn't seen this fight that she was speaking of.

Rylan followed Sef into the tower.

Sef walked in, the climbed a few stairs and chose a strategic spot, from which he could be heard almost all over the tower. "Miss Valzwyn, we have a new guest!" He called.

Hope I didn't take too much liberty having a spot like that, but it would be needed when someone just went out to explore the secret passages.

A couple minutes passed as Val made her way through the secret passageways, then popped out behind Sef. "What's up?"

“I don’t know. It’s stupid. Don’t worry about me. I’ll just try not to be a burden when we get into battle.”

Sef turned around. "There you are. This man -" he says, gesturing toward Mr. Ryan - "wants to rest here. He doesn't speak Common, though he is apparently speaks pretty good elvish." He turns to Mr. Ryan. "This is Valzwyn, the owner of the tower." He turns back to Valzwyn and asks in Common: "Will you tell me who is your friend? I don't believe I met her."

Random, your character won't understand most of what Sef said, since he spoke elvish.

"Oh, you're fine," said Exodus, "We can get plenty of practice in sometime soon. Anyone hungry?"

Ara nodded, determinedly. I wonder how he knows about my fighting capabilities. Did he watch me and the bear? He must have been following us for awhile, too awkward to join in. He didn’t seem socially awkward, but maybe Ara could make him feel more at home. Maybe him and Minuet could be friends! Ara walked off to eat, idly concocting plans to get the two to become friends.

Memory hovered. It did not trust the one with many names. It lied. Memory could sense it. The patterns of deceit in the human’s thoughts. It tried to warn Ara, but she brushed off it’s concerns. She was too trusting. It would kill her someday. The many named one would kill her. And then Memory would be alone in the dark again. Memory had to take action on its own. Ara said killing was bad, so it couldn’t solve the problem the simplest way. It needed to drive the ground apart. Ara wouldn’t like it, but she always said you should help even those who didn’t seem like they want it. Memory was just following her advice.

Greetings!

I'm going to wait for a good space for me to join in, but here's my character now so I don't forget.

Spoiler

Name: Yvris. This means Eternal Flame in Ancient Draconic.

Age: Looks 11. She has not yet hit puberty.

Skills: Much better than she looks like she should be with any non-edged weapon. If she uses any edged weapon – kitchen knives included – she will cut herself (By accident, stop panicking. Suicide is against all her morals.) Can understand anything she hears, was raised writing and speaking Draconic, can write and speak Ancient Draconic, can speak accented Common. Has strong fire magic (system stays relatively within the guidelines of GURPS magic, but no fatigue cost). Has imbued her quarterstaff with fire magic (without burning it). Can ride horses relatively well, but looks a little odd when she’s riding. Has a very good sense of direction and knows exactly how to get to the dragonclans, but will never show or tell anyone.

Physical Appearance: Short dark hair, bright orange eyes with gold around the outside edge of the iris, about 4’6” tall. In the dark her eyes glow from all the flame inside her.

Personality: Fiery. Passionate, has a temper. Loves jokes and (sometimes) pranks. Holds grudges at the smallest things, but usually only for days, and they’re not so big that they stop her from working well with someone. She’s chummy, but can deal with being alone. She can keep secrets, you just have to tell her it’s a secret before she’ll keep it. She’s very bold and outspoken, and will try to stop her companions if they do something she doesn’t agree with. If she agrees with the reasoning behind it she’ll stop trying to stop you and probably help instead.

She will never agree with killing dragons if it can possibly be avoided.

History: The village where she was born is not far from the dragons, and fire is in their blood. (Not sure how exactly it got there, but magic.) There are often Children of Flame born there – incredibly talented fire mages who are sent to the dragons for training. Their powers usually manifest around the age of five, and the more fire in their blood, the earlier the FirstFlame comes – and the more power over flame they have.

Yvris is a Child of Flame whose FirstFlame came minutes after her birth. She was sent to the dragons to be raised, and they took her in and raised her as one of their own, giving her a name in Ancient Draconic and teaching her all they knew of Fire. Because of all the flame in her blood she ages slowly – slower than dragons even – making her much, much older than she seems.

When she left the dragons they gave her a gift, as was their custom. Because she was raised as a dragon she knew little of the languages of the humans, so they gave her the gift of Language. This gift let her understand all that was spoken and learn languages a little more easily. She has wandered ever since.

Now that the groups have split, was there a specific direction or plot-idea that you wanted to do with Talnic and those that stayed with him?

Since the group has split, I think it would be less confusing if we made two more threads and came back here if the groups ever came back together again.

Turning this into something vaguely possibly like the start of the Alleyverse? Not that I was there for that

Also I think I might make a character that only speaks High Imperial. Wasing the wishing for the making the nip of speaking the High Imperial and notting of speaking the others.

Exodus pulled out a mysterious, circular baked good and took a bite out of it. It was crunchy.

"Regardless, Minuet, want a cookie?"

All right. With all due respect, Sef isn't a servant. So either there were servants and they ran away from the looters, there were magical servants or Feldspar served his few guests himself. Which will be true? If the first, Sef will ask Valzwyn who should show the guest his room. If the second, he'll try summoning the servants back. If the third... Well, he'll either show the way himself or let Valzwyn take the lead.
