"Mmm, didn't you say you wanted to come with?"

“I did, but it’s clear that there’s nothing I could possibly contribute.”

She rolled her eyes, grabbing his shoulder to turn him, looking in his eyes. Through the swirling black, little bits of sapphire fought its way through. "Listen to me: We all have weaknesses and think that we can't contribute to the situation at hand, but that doesn't mean we can't try. We all have failures, I can attest to this, but we can't let those get to us. There are... some things that I am still trying to get over, but it doesn't stop me from at least trying. Just because you might not have the information to deal with this does not mean that you just give up without trying."

Q closed her eyes and exhaled, little trails of dark smoke streaming out, then opened her eyes. "You don't have to, though. This is your decision."

[Channelknight Fadran]

“That’s... I...” Ellis swallowed, only a little lost in her eyes. “I don’t have superpowers like you guys do, though.”

[Mystic Syn she/her]

“You don’t need them,” she affirmed. “Just because some people have powers doesn’t mean that you’re less capable of being something great; a hero, if you will. You can be just as good, if not better, than people like me who do have powers.”

Q hesitated, the sapphire becoming more prominent in her gaze, then placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “I believe in you, okay?”

“Well... alright.” Ellis smiled, blushing a little. “You can un-vanish now, Melody. Let’s figure out a real plan: one that involves all of us.”

The arm gave a little wiggle to remind the others of its presence.

The black enveloped the sapphire when Q nodded. “Does it have to include the arm?” she asked, her distorted voice returning.

“I wouldn’t know.”

Melody reappeared. "Okay. How about this one. I'll go whack all those guys and then you two - or three - can come in and finish them."

“Depends on how hard you hit and what you hit them with.”

"The flat of my sword."

“They’re goons! You can hit them with the sharp side if you want.”

"I'm not killing anyone."

“Well, maybe not these guys, but what about Dr. Who Octopus? What do we do when we run into that guy?”

"Put him in prison or something."

Connie, now that I think about it, shouldn’t you be asleep? I’m awake because we’re still driving home. What about you?

... Maybe. The others are watching Back to the Future, but I've already seen it thrice.

"How about a really, really good prison?"

Ah. Movie night. That makes more sense.

”Maybe we’ll just burn that bridge when we come to it?”

Credits, so I'll probably be gone soon.

"That's a good idea. So I'll go whack them, then."

[Channelknight Fadran]

"Alright. We'll be right behind you."

[Mystic Syn she/her]

Q nodded in agreement, twirling her knives between her fingers. A mad grin appeared. "Mmm, yes. Shall we?"

[Channelknight Fadran]

Ellis drew out his own sword. "We shall."

[Mystic Syn she/her]

“Alright then,” she said, her voice lowering to a whisper as she crouched to look at the guards. She gestured towards them. “Melody, take point. We’ll be close behind. If it gets too dicey, I can get you out of there.”

[Condensation she/her]

"Sweet," Melody whispered, then blinked out again. She grabbed her sword, which disappeared too, and snuck over to the guards. She whacked the first on the head as hard as she could with the flat side of the blade.
