Y grunted. Q was getting dangerously bold, acting without any type of self-preservation whatsoever. That would, unfortunately, make it tricky to dispatch her.

Don't lose sight of the goal, Y, she thought.  This isn't worth a serious injury.

So as Q stood up with death in her eyes, Y made a quick decision. She made a feint towards Q, then dodged sideways towards Gerald. She ripped the amulet out of his hands and fell off the roof.

Q looked like she was going to follow, but the smoke dissipated from her eyes. She muttered a distorted curse under her breath before her eyes turned back into their normal blue. Q stumbled back, her breathing becoming rapid. She looked down at her hands, ignoring the blood as she saw that she was holding her long silvery blade. She looked on it with horror, before dropping it. Before the blade even hit the ground, it disappeared in a puff of black smoke.

Q looked up and saw the people there and finally noticed the trail of blood. She furrowed her eyebrows as she followed it, trying to connect it with any of the other people there before finally realizing that she had been the one that had been trailing it. Her breathing came out in gasps as she looked down at her arms again, finally regarding the blood that practically soaked her arms. She squinted at her arms, seeing only fuzziness when doing so.

"Well," she said, looking back up at the rest of the group. Q wobbled in her stance as she looked a bit sick. "You probably have questions that it seems that I only have the answer to."

And with that, Q promptly collapsed on the ground from blood loss.

Melody gasped yet again. "Q? So... does someone want to chase her? I think I kind of remembered her, but it seems like a dream or something."

"Q!"

Ellis ran over, grabbing her limp form. "We need to go. Get her somewhere safe. Now."

"Yeah, I agree. But I feel like... eh, it's fine. Let's get her inside and I'll find a doctor!"

Ellis began running down the stairs. He wasn't even aware that he was muttering to himself. "You're gonna be okay... you're gonna be okay..."

"Hey," said Gerald. "Hey, wait a moment! I think I saw her in the Longest Thread."

Gerald floated helplessly after Melody and Ellis, unable to do anything.

Melody stopped suddenly, turning. "In the what?" she demanded, personality vastly different from just a few seconds ago.

"The... Longest Thread," said Gerald. "The home (and partial prison) of Narrators, a sea of endless chaos..." He wiggled his tentacles uncertainly. "You know, where we came from?"

Capodoto was just leaving his house when he heard the shouts of a flying squid.

"How peculiar," he thought to himself, somewhat vexed, and went over to see what was going on.

"Hmm," said Capodota. "She's lost a lot of blood... but I think I have the supplies to save her. They're at my house, though..."
