"And if I go... y'know... mad with power, or something?"

"Then we'll find a way to fix it. 'The power of friendship' or something." Melody laughs.

Random bit of input here: Anyone can be whoever the heck they want to be. No one is telling Ellis that he needs to be the Dark Lord. I mean sure, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that it's a part of a prophecy and yay, all that crap. But everyone can decide who they want to be. No one is telling you to do this or that; it's all in the decision that anyone can make. I've had my fair share of prophecies and tbh I'm sick and tired of them and wish that other authors could be more creative and for the most part, everything that it says comes true. Everyone wants to change the prophecy, but in doing so makes it come true, but people needs to have enough foresight to see where their actions will lead them. I can go on and on of how much I really don't like prophecies, but that's another post for another day. As I was saying, no one is making anyone decide what or who they should be, but it's all in our character development that makes us into who we are. The decisions that we make now decide who we will be later. Make those decisions while looking to the future, because that's who we will be with those actions. But I'm just rambling now.

"Hopefully."

"Not hopefully, for sure. And we're not even the ones in the prophecy, so it doesn't really matter."

"I admire your optimism... but it might back you into a corner someday."

"I haven't met or seen a corner that I couldn't get out of with a friendly attitude and optimism. I haven't met or seen many corners, though."

"Woo hoo! Oh wait, did we want to get a scabbard first?"

"Right. Let's go find one."

Ellis found a scabbard shop, because those totally existed in this city. "We need a scabbard."

"Then you came to the right place."

"I'd like one to go over my back that'll fit this sword!"

The shopkeeper glanced down at the girl. "Aren't you a little short for a swordbearer?"

"Maybe. I'm also a little young. It's just temporary."

"Welp... I won't complain, so as long as I get paid. Can I see your sword, little miss?"

Melody glanced at Ellis. "Uh, yeah!"

Ellis handed the man the sword. The shopkeeper looked it over, then nodded. "Hmm... peculiar shape. If you would allow me to make some measurements, I could make you a scabbard in, say... eh, a week?"

Chokes on the water that I definitely was drinking.

Double checking, you know if you want a scabbard on your back that you can draw a sword from, then you'll need a custom scabbard that's crafted in a specific way; not to mention practice drawing, and more more importantly putting it away, right?

I'm just saying, if you're going to do it, then do it right. I know a video that explains how exactly a back-scabbard would work, along with the pros and cons of using one.

We all watch Shadiversity, Ward. I've seen the video too. I'm not gonna bother with explaining how the scabbard works; I'm just gonna say that it does.

Very well, I will try my best to avoid geeking out about what I learn from Shadiversity in the future. although I can't make any promises about other sources. Also a fun fact, I only discovered that Brandon Sanderson and Shad worked together AFTER I started enjoying their content individually.

Hehe. That'll happen. Not for me, of course, but it will.

Shh leave my naivety alone, she's very sensitive!

"That sounds reasonable."
