That1Cellist he/him Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 See, I'm going to just pretend that Valentine's Day doesn't exist. I will eliminate my object permanence solely for Valentine's Day. If I don't think it exists, then it simply doesn't. Valentine's Day isn't even that good of a holiday anyway.

I don’t have to pretend! I’ll be at a viewing -I agree. It had potential but got commercialized and now theres tooooo many expectations-

Someone explain! Honestly, I'm going to have to agree with you here. I think that the vast majority of folks in schools take this stuff way too seriously. I think that a lot of it has to do with teenagers really wanting to feel very emotionally close to someone. Another thing is, well, when you grow up watching Disney shows and other movies with romance in them, people get curious to figure out what that actually feels like and looks like in real life, you know? A lot of teenagers are rather overwhelmingly lonely. Often they don't feel appreciated and like people don't care about them. In my personal opinion, the reason that a lot of teenagers seek out relationships is to relieve this sense of loneliness. To feel like somebody deeply cares about you and appreciates you despite the flaws that you can't help but focus on. To be fair, I don't really know. I've never been in a relationship, so this is all just speculation. The nature of people is to want things they don't have, so I suppose it would make sense for most single people to want a relationship. Some people just want different things than others out of that, I suppose. Haha, rambling. I'm sorry. 1

Also i didnt watch much romance. Mostly action and fighting. Thanks for the answer

Thanks for the answer I mean, it's entirely possible that I'm completely inaccurate. I also think that hormones have some role to play in the particular zeal with which teenagers seek out these things. Additionally, when most people are doing something, often times other people feel like they have to participate or get interested as well, even if they wouldn't have much interest otherwise. Again, this is all just speculation on my part. People are a mystery to me, including myself. That's probably why I like to think about them so much. Edited February 13, 2025 by That1Cellist

Someone explain! Hmmm, I 100% want to be in a romantic relationship at some point (I don't know if I'm emotionally mature enough yet, but I'm working to get better), and I love the thought of cuddling. It's like . . . how do I explain this. I should say that I think one of my main love languages is physical touch. I'm personally comfortable and even love being touched or hugged, and I know it's not that way for everyone. So, I think part of it is that personal preference of I just like it. I love being hugged by my parents, and I love the idea of being hugged by a future partner. For me, I like cuddling, etc. because: -It helps ground me, I tend to overthink and dissociate at times, being physically with someone helps. -It's warm, and I like the feeling of someone next to me. It just feels good, once again it's that personal preference thing. -It's like a conformation that you are loved, sometimes just being told doesn't really sink in for me. If someone wants to be near me, it's like them wordlessly telling me that they care. -I feel more protected or safe -I feel less alone As for why I'd like to be in a relationship in general (outside of physical touch), I've got a few reasons. I love the idea of having someone I can trust with everything, I don't share a lot about myself with my friends so having someone closer that I can talk to about hard things sounds really nice. Mostly, though, I just like the idea of partner that I can rely on when things can tough, and who can rely on me when things get tough. It's like taking on the world as group project (in a good way) instead of having to do everything alone. 7 minutes ago, That1Cellist said: Honestly, I'm going to have to agree with you here. I agree, our teenage years are where we're still figuring things out and romance is a big part of that. Personally, I'm really lonely despite having some friends and family, so I find the idea of a romantic relationship really appealing. (I don't read or watch a lot of romance, but not because I don't like it--I love a good romance story--I just have a really hard time relating to contemporary fiction, which is the majority of romance.) I feel like I haven't seen a lot of people who are crazy about dating at my school, but it could just be that I don't hang out in those circles. Personally, I don't know if I'm emotionally mature enough for a serious relationship yet, and I don't think I'll try to date anyone until I'm in college. Just because I know I'm developing a little bit slower and I think I need that time to become a better person.

We did something like that, we hosted it at the church, the kids went to one room and the ym and yw were the servers filling up water bringing chips ect, and taking care of kids, then a dessert auctions. Holy cow we sold a cake for 400 DOLLARS for a sigle cake. Sorry rambling.
