Cruz glared. “Glad to see you too. Now, good luck using those swords against that speed demon there. I doubt even icy floors would do much.”

"Well, good thing for me I'm versatile." Cadenza smiled in a way that might have looked nice but really wasn't.

Corwin blanched significantly.  "You're friends with the assassin that attacked his lawyer mid-trial and ran?!  Isn't he supposed to be a psych- I mean-"  His face went very red, and he stammered, caught between the need to express how insane the situation was and his desire to not be nice.  He eventually gave up the endeavor.  "Cadence, do you think you can freeze the area over with a thin sheet of my blood?"

"How about we don't bleed you?" Janice suggested. "You already did an awful lot of that back at the Academy."

He shrugged.  "It's not gonna kill me.  I'm pretty fast at recovering!" he insisted, his bandaged arm still pretty useless at his side.

Janice rolled her eyes. "Here. Stab me or something; I'll see what I can do."

“What, is your ability to make zero friction areas with your bodily fluids?” He asked, smirking.

"No, it's to explode the crap out of things. Excuse my language."

“Can you explode your blood?” He asked, “Is that why you want us to gut you?”

"My Aspect draws off pain and turns it into energy. It can also heal me, which is nice." Janice neglected to mention the scar she had on her cheek from the weapon that nobleman had used against her; that hadn't healed.

“I can punch you?” He offered, in what he thought was a polite tone. “I mean. Stabbing’s a bit extreme.”

Cruz glowered. “Don’t be saying things like that too loudly. And I’m not a fan of the Queen either. Besides, Trace did most of the murderings.”

"Just give me a knife already."

Cruz had not been listening to the conversation, but upon hearing “knife” he immediately wiped the blood off of his knife and proffered it to Janice.

“That doesn’t make it better-!” Corwin said, albeit in a hushed voice, belaying the inherent nature of his protest. Then, “Don’t give her a knife!” But Janice was on his injured side, and his response was too slow to stop her from slicing herself up. “Not so deep!” He urged, “Be careful!”

Corwin was a bit of a worrywart, despite bravado.

She sucked in a breath, then shrieked despite herself as she ran it across her forearm.

“Wait—don’t!” Cruz realized his mistake very quickly.

"If you're so worried," Janice muttered through gritted teeth, "then get the volts over there and get ready to slip up that guy before I bleed out."

“Bleed out?” Cruz said. “More like die from poison! It only takes a few minutes to kill!”

Devil’s in the details! Cruz just healed Finn from the same poisonous knife.

If Janice elects to hold off on being healed, the poison will take like 30 seconds to set in and will feel like fire coursing through her veins, she will get very warm, dizzy, nauseous, etc. Kills at around the five minute mark, but loss of consciousness slightly before then.

“You have an antidote, right??”  He glanced at Janice. “This is why you let people punch you!”

"My Aspect can cleanse it. I'll get right on it." Cruz moved to grab Janice's hand.

"No! Don't." The poison was already starting to burn. A lot. "Get the heck over there, Corwin. Right now."

Corwin grunted at her, lips curled back in a frustrated snarl. “You can’t just let us plan, can you?  You think you’re the only one smart enough to decide anything, but if you’re wrong, I die, and then you die!”

He latched his arm around Janice, locking her in place. “Cruz, do your thing. @Condensation Cadenza, draw my blood, if you will. Mix it with some water; the ocean’s nearby. Try to freeze the area around that opponent.”

"I'M NOT THE ONE WHO POISONED THE STUPID KNIFE."

"I tried to warn you!" Cruz protested. He hesitated, unsure whether to heal Janice or not. They still had some time before anything... serious happened.

"NOW GO GET READY TO SLIP UP THAT DANG DEMON ALREADY BEFORE I EXPLODE."

“Do you honestly think I’m fast enough to do that without getting instantly skilled?  Cadenza’s got the best chance of using my blood at a distance.”
