"It's easier when someone's really dumb or corrupted by Qhoral--" she shot a glance at Janice.

"She's corrupted by Qhoral." She guessed. "Isn't she." I know someone really stupid she could take over... Her grin grew really wide, and she turned her head to look at Trace. "If the opportunity presents itself, would you mind possessing someone for me?" She said with a glint in her eyes.

"I've been this way since I was three." Janice said quietly.

Trace, having no clue how to respond to that, said to Shade, "possess who?"

"I didn't say it was your fault." She said to Janice. "And I'm definitely not judging." She then turned to Trace. "Oh, just the bodyguard of the person who kidnapped my sister. He's a total idiot. He's one of those people who has the intelligence of a rock."

"I think we promised to save your sister, so whatever you need to get that done."

She had an odd look on her face. "I want to make him hurt the way he made me hurt." She hissed through her teeth.

"Can't say I don't approve of revenge, but after getting tortured, I don't know if I want to torture anyone else."

"Oh, this is a different type of torture. I will take away his organization, and then I'll kill him myself." She turned to Trace. "But I'll need help finding them, and getting in. I can do the rest." She said.

"I'll do what I can; but first we need to get to Lady Lena's island. Can you charter us a boat? Preferably a fast one?"

She grinned. "Lead the way. I'm not familiar with this area."

"You?"

"Cruz. I'm a straight-up jerk."

Aryanna nodded, but stopped, looking sheepish.

Trace walked out onto the harbor. "Here we are! Alrighty, Shade: do your thing."

@Random Bystander

Shade grinned at Trace. "Gladly." She then marched over to the person in charge of the boats. "I need you fastest boat. It has to fit at least 6 people." She had used her most menacing voice. She waited.

"B-but..." Shade gave her a look, and the woman swallowed. "A-all right." She handed over the keys. "Number 16. Don't bother paying." The woman faked a smile. "It's free of charge." Shade smirked, and marched over to the boat. She waved the rest of them over.

Aryanna looked back at the woman as she followed Shade, feeling bad about the way she had been treated.

Once aboard the boat, Maddy turned to Shade. "Did you have to do that? I'm a soldier."

Trace rolled her eyes. "C'mon, guys. We're literally about to go liberate a serial killer. Are you seriously complaining about borrowing a boat for free?"

"Yes. Yes I did. Once word leaks out that a bounty hunter has gone soft, people begin to disrespect you, and then it's nothing but work, work, work all the time."

"But free stuff is the best! And I didn't even steal it!" She grinned, and leaned back in the boat, with one leg crossed over the other. "Now, who knows how to drive this, because I don't."

Going back, I think I recognize the phrasing but don't remember what it's from.
