Guys remember this?

I tried to explain what aromantic is to my friends

and they just kept on asking me ‘but if you did have a crush on someone, which gender would it be?” And I was just like ‘that’s not how that works T^T”

I'm sorry that sucks

I have one male friend (I’m not counting you Kansas your too gay to count) and yah he is so emotionally inept but he’s one of my best friends bc we can just hang out play video games and I can just tell him stuff and he doesn’t understand it but tha doesn’t bother either of us.

all that to say I don’t think you need better friends you just need other friends that you can talk to about thatbstuff

Yeah

i I will say, I do have a friend group that was able to comprehend aromanticism, but they still don’t have too high of an emotional (opposite of inept, eptness?)

It can do until I find a therapist or better friend group

At least they understand me.

We could try telepathy? Not so sure about teleporting though. Sorry about the irritating people.

Howdy folks

So there’s an LGBTQ+ youth group I’m volunteering with at a church

But we’re still in the preparation phase so nobody is there yet

We’re still educating the team
And the team is really old
Like old to the point where queer was still being used derogatorily and they think Trans is the newest part of the community

Anyways for my thing I’m to compile a list of common queer terms
Like different genders and orientations and what they mean cause they’re still at gay and lesbian

Anyways I wanted to get y’all’s input cause I’ve learned a lot the past year or two but there’s still a bunch of stuff I’m not entirely clear on
And also I’m a cis male

But I was thinking to start with the basics
Gay
Lesbian
Bi
Pan
Ace

etc

If they’re gonna be working with kids then you might want to educate them on some of the slang used to refer to queer relationships and people and what not. Is there anything like your specifically asking or like idk. I would also like to say I myself am not the best to answer this bc other than the shard I’m barely online ever so idrk much. You might want to add like enby and explain that and what nonbinary is if they don’t know that

Things like how you define asexuality since it’s not always the complete absence of  attraction or even romantic relationships

Or pan vs bi

Or how bi is even defined because it technically means two but a lot bi folks like me can be attracted to people of other genders too which would technically make it pan?

This stuff is vexing

That it is lol it’s very slightly pretty dang confusing honestly I think the most important thing to make sure they know is that there’s a lot more stuff nowadays and that if they don’t understand something to ask the kids or look it up and to keep a open mind abt it all

Yeahh good luck with that

I mostly just call myself bi cause the flag is cooler, I don't really see a clear difference

okay so

there is more than just Asexual and Aromantic (there is like Aplatonic or smth) but I will just explain those 2

Asexual: Absence of sexual attraction; is a spectrum, look it up to learn more

Aromantic: Absence of romantic attraction; is also a spectrum, look it up to learn more

dats it

:D
