"Couldn't have asked it better myself."

"Say, if we can't get past the wall... could I just teleport us there?"

"Okay, everyone, calm down and get back down here. THAT INCLUDES YOU, ENTER." She put her back against the mountain, taking deep breaths and holding her arm. "We need to replan our approach. They have way better resources than I thought they did."

"I think we should send a small team, one or two people, to see if there's a gap in the wall somewhere."  Martin glances around, frowning.  "And maybe fall back a bit."

"Kind of. Oh - that must have been really confusing. If I have a picture of someplace, I can use it to teleport there."

"It works the same way that this does." Ayia held out her metal staff, Stabilized it, and left it floating in midair.

"Oh.  Magic."  Martin nods.  Makes sense.  Not much he can do about that.  Why is he here?

"I guess I should probably back up a little. How much do you guys all know about the Macrosmos?"

"Is that what you call multiple realities and dimensions?"

"Nothing."

"Yes and excellent! I can explain it all." Ayia cleared her throat. "So, basically, the Macrosmos is the collection of every universe ever to exist."

Fresco glances at where the arrow had come from. Whoever had sent it was still likely there. He kept his gun up and listened.

"It's size is about as close to infinity as infinity is."

"I see.  But the wall?"  That's the important thing.  Reese would usually have jabbed him in the side because she wants to hear more about stuff.  She thinks he's too mission-minded.

"I'm getting there, but first I need to explain a couple more things. See, where I come from, the government is very Macrosmos-aware; in fact, it's conquered a few other universes in its spare time." She gestured to her floating staff. "This power is native to my world, but they've learned how to fuel it with magic from other universes; assuming said magic has some similar properties, anyways. And Invesiture is all over the place here on Sel. It'd be just like that corrupt King Qalar to strike a deal with someone like Wyrn... he's probably giving Wyrn access to this power for some kind of... experiment." Ayia glanced back at the wall. "I've never seen our magic Stabilize the air itself, but with other kinds of magic and technology... who knows what different kinds of magic can do."

Goaty, this'd be a good time for Fehn to figure out his own deal.
