@Brandon Sanderson does, but hasn't used it in a while. He prefers Reddit, where he posts as u/Mistborn. Or Twitter, but I can't remember his handle there. @PeterAhlstrom, his editor, sometimes pops by, but that's extremely rare.

He probably has an account that isn't obviously him to discreetly see what we're doing, or just gets on with no account I seriously doubt that he never checks here.

While this is fun to think about, I highly doubt it. It’s a fairly common practice among authors to avoid fan sites for fear of absorbing stuff subconsciously and then incorporating it into their work, which could lead to trouble, or so that they don’t read a ton of unorganized criticism so they can keep on track. Not everyone is going to be like that, but I’m pretty sure Brandon’s confirmed that he doesn’t often if ever browse the Shard, and he wouldn’t lie about it.

Besides that, excluding entertainment, there’s not really any reason for him to do so. Checking the Coppermind I could maybe see - though checking his internal wiki would be more likely - but the forums? Nah.
