Kaladin's arc is based around how everyone close to him dies, he must take the death of someone extremely close to him and accept it. There is no one closer than Syl. This is compounded by his admition that he needs to be there for the living not the dead, so unfortunately Syl must die irreversibly and totally, sent to the Beyond dead. I can't see a way around it and that terrifies me, but I see nobody else close enough to Kal to maximize the feels. Hello there. We seem to find each other crossing paths a lot. (I swear, I did not know you started this post.) Interesting theory that has quite a bit of merit to it. Would evolve Kaladin's character (Especially if Moash does it, imagine that) and would solve the oh so prevalent, "Kaladin is too op" complaint/issue in a satisfying way. If to does happen, do expect me to make a funeral video on Youtube for Syl. Now if you will excuse me, I have a pillow to cry into. 1

Even the Honorblade might be enough. I can already imagine how it would go. Moash sneaks up on Kaladin, either by intention or accident, stabs Syl. Kaladin looks horrified as he feels her death. He turns to Moash, a look of betrayal and hate on his face. Moash would probably back up, scared of the look his former commander was giving him. (Also, slight issue I noticed while writing this hypothetical about killing Syl, you'd have to do it when she is out of shard form, which may pose a problem.

For Moash yes, he would definitely need an upgrade(one of the Unmade?), but Odium probably could.

What a coincidence) And yeah, I have been very active despite my late entry. What can I say, I'm a Sanderson nerd with things to say. 1

And you have over 100 posts already? I joined about a year ago, and I only have 400-wait, that’s a lot-but definately not at this speed! Wow! I applaud you. That is impressive.

I plan on being one of those members you see and immediately are like, "oh, it's this guy", like @Frustration or @Honorless. I'm here to stay and cause everyone headaches and joy. Only have 1900 to go. Edit: Also, just like to mention I am often always at the top of the threads. When it shows most recent thread, my name is on three of the conversations! Yeah, but why would he? Syl seems pretty insignificant a target. Only way I'd see that happening is either it was unintentional and he just did something so powerful it killed her too, or Kaladin does something to disrupt his plans so much, he just says screw it and kills her. And that's without mention that it might be a stormfather situation where if he tries, Cultivation might attack him.

That said, I don't think Syl will "die" so much as be assimilated upon the swearing of Kaladin's final Oath. And, even that's a bit of a stretch. I know its been a while, but I think his name can also mean "Eternal child". Anyways I think that this is super enevitable, and if you're a total downer you could say this happens because Kal breaks one of his oaths and he dies and leads to the downfall of the knights radiant.

Yes, predictions are nice, and I can definitely see it happening, but the fun part is determining how and why it will/can happen. What's the point of predicting something if not to see issues and then to answer them? Takes all the nuance and excitement away, the connecting of the dots, seeming like a crazy person to everyone but you and a few select others because your genius cannot be understood from the minds of petty men such as these.

True, you have to remember I haven't thought about this in months. I think it will probably be an Unmade they seriously appear under powered at the moment.

We know so little about them that I tend to ignore them at the moment when I make theories.
