if by chance anyone is at institute tomorrow and sees a guy in a t-shirt that says there were books involved introduce yourself, please.

Someone did recognize the steel alphabet character on my shirt!!! I got to get to know him a little but, and he was really cool.

*gasp* YAYY!!

Is there anywhere specific you're hoping to go?

Not specifically. I know that wherever I do go is where I'll need to be.

It'd be cool to go somewhere like Japan, though.

I also took some German in high school, so they might send me there.

And if I went somewhere English speaking I'd be able to teach deeply so much sooner.

I get set apart as a missionary in 4 weeks. I shared this message with everyone on my mailing list, but figured someone here might like to see it.

Spoiler

It is officially 28 days until I'm scheduled to get set apart as a missionary of the Lord. It's incredibly exciting as the time ticks down, I can't wait. I've been able to tract and teach lessons with the missionaries serving in my ward a couple of times and it's been a blast every time. I know not every day as a missionary will be as good, but I think the good will outweigh the bad.

I do also want to include a quick spiritual thought, specifically about going and doing. In 1 Nephi 3, Nephi says,

"I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (verse 7)

I would like to testify that I know the words Nephi speaks are true. As I have prepared for my mission, I have worried, not so much about how I will be able to make things work to serve, but more how things will work out once I return. However, as I have gone and done/prepared to do, things that have worried me, metaphorical mountains, if you will, have moved out of my way, bringing me quite a lot of peace I was afraid I wouldn't find. As an example, leading up to my mission, my university of choice only granted enrollment deferrals for 2 semesters. However, as I committed to serving and began working on my papers, they changed the policy specifically to allow for missionaries to defer for longer. I know that this blessing is for everyone who is willing to act in faith. I share these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I just went to a close friend’s farewell today…she’s one of the most loving people I know, and also so tough. She’ll do amazing, but…it’s also so crazy to realize that she’s really leaving.

Naah, I'm like 250% sure this is exactly where he spends his free time now that he probably can't ski anymore.😅
