Failen continued to watch, confused and curious as he did so. He didn't understand anything that was going on, and part of him wanted to simply run away. He didn't have a unicorn's horn, and he couldn't grow his own, so he couldn't change shape- and that was both a blessing and a curse. "Stealing is perfectly fine. I want to survive, not win some award for folliwing laws, that might or not might exist on this planet."

She opened her food ration and took a part of the food out.

"Can you work with that as well?"

He didn't mention how he'd already said his name to the stranger, though he wanted to. The stranger had been caught off-guard by his introduction, and even now it seemed they were almost afraid of Cheh. They seemed nervous as well, which Cheh could understand. They must have been really confused, not everyone had someone like Jessy, who'd explained everything about the other planets, the space boats, and aliens. Cheh looked the stranger in the eyes.

"Huh," he said and smiled. He gestured to the stranger's eyes, and then his own.

"You've got green eyes, like me." Though Cheh's were the normal dull green of the Earth Kingdom, and the stranger's were bright.

Failen noticed that, relaxing a bit. "Um... yes, I do... how did you-" He hesitated, then shook his head. "Never mind. Can you please explain to me what exactly is happening?" He didn't understand this place, or it's people. He'd been practically invisible in the shadows under the tree... could this person sense him somehow with something other than his eyes? The idea was interesting, but he wasn't aware of the trick if there was one... he'd avoided the gaze of much more powerful, dark beings than this 'Cheh' seemed to be, in much less forgiving circumstances. He was curious, but he wasn't willing to pry- at least the man seemed friendly.

Alyssa frowned, careful not to let John see. Prophecy? She wasn't familiar with the word, as she hadn't studied English very well, most of the words she heard came through the translator, and everything she said came through the translator. But Prophecy didn't make it through. She wondered what the Gathen equivalent would be.

She didn't notice the small blinking light at the corner of her HUD that gave the definition.

Prophecy: English Word, a foretelling, often translated as "The Will of the Council".

Failen bit his lip, looking around. "I know how to find a lot of food, if there's anything edible nearby... I could help with that problem..." He hadn't ever gotten a horn, but he could purify things with a touch and a pulse of magic if he tried. It was tiring, but it might be helpful.

John listened to them speak, and felt left out. But why should he care? It was his fault, all of this. He couldn't even remember when he had thought of kidnapping them.

A wave of energy blasted through the trees. "Take cover!" John yelled, throwing himself behind a tree. It passed effortlessly through the terrain, and John felt dizzy after it passed.

"Anyone hurt?"

"Awhoathern."

John turned in shock, as Alyssa said something in Gathen. He switched to the language himself.

"What?"

"It must of been an Electrical Magnetic Pulse, it wiped out my Heads Up Display and disabled my translator."

John cursed under his breath. He switched to English, and turned to the humans.

"Discard anything electrical. That wave just broke it." Simple enough. No need to go into lengthily explanations.

Jessy had acted instinctively when she heard the call to take cover. Years of training had her grab Cheh's arm to drag him to the ground him her, then she dove towards the nearest cover.

An electrical wave passed them, without any effects, and she knew what it had been before John talked to them again.

"Good thing, you stole all of mine."

She replied wryly, and stayed down for now.

"We need to move, now. They know where we are, or at least have a very good guess."

Urgently she pointed at the way towards the lake.

Failen shuddered, then heard what they said. Joy... now there were more people attacking them. "Alright... I'll stay with you guys... is that alright?" He planned to follow them when they moved, and he looked at John for permission. Even if the others didn't like him, he knew he hadn't been kidnapped. He'd probably accidentally stepped through a portal... maybe some trickster mage had opened one to play a prank on him or something- whatever the case, he didn't blame John, and he planned to at least be civil until John did something to earn his distrust.

Ryan threw himself to the ground. Anything electrical? What was that? He checked his orbment and found nothing out of the ordinary. At least he would be able to help. "They really don't want us here, do they?"

Failen looked at Alyssa, blinking. It was weird- kind of like listening to something familiar through heavy static. He had no clue what she was saying. "I... I've helped fight off a demon before, so... I'm used to danger. At least you seem to know what's going on... besides, I feel like I should help you... if I can. I just hope I'm not more of a burden than a help." He bit his lip, looking over the group. "Um... miss? What are you saying? I... I can't really understand you..." He looked back at Alyssa, apologetic.

Alyssa stopped, confused. What was he saying? 

Uhh, John?

He said that he's used to danger, and that he wants to help you - or us. I don't know. And then he said he hopes he isn't a burden. And then he said that he didn't understand you.

Alyssa looked Failen right in the eye. "I know you understand me somewhere," she said. "I don't know why though... or why you look familiar to me." She paused for a moment. "Answer me Light it!"

Failen blinked, biting his lip and hesitating, then trying the fairy language. "Do you understand this? I still don't know what you're saying, sorry, It's just... Familiar. I don't know why..."He seemed a bit nervous, repeating what he'd said in three other sylvan languages.
