He frowned slightly as he stepped back, annoyed that he would be forced to stay at home.

The man with the sign proclaiming THE END IS NEAR ran past again, this time with a sign stating THE BIRD MEN ARE COMING in the other hand.

Zokora paused when Storm simply left and then checked Lusk's messages again. She pulled up some charts about the Dark Angels and saw them getting attacked by the red mist. Elsecalling closer she grabbed the survivors and teleported them away, out of its reach for the moment. Hopefully they could attack it without dying immediatly now.

Ark as you ask to not make assumptions. I need some information about the building, it's substances (materials) and the defenses and what they are made of. And which parts of it contain Investiture and which don't.

Both in the PR and the CR.

The building has plot purposes. A lot of them. So I can't reveal everything.

What I can tell you: It would now be impossible to get within seventy feet through the CR, as the Aonic boundary will stop it.

Within the boundary, there is going to be thousands of massive spren.

Alleytravel to the area will also be completely impossible.

In the PR, the building has Aons inside every block of stone on the outside. The windows have aons, as do the doors.

The aonic shielding will also stop you from getting within seventy feet.

If you're already within seventy feet, there is multiple automated turrets and aonic defenses.

Blood flowed in the city. Brawls, Hunters, mobs. The city was deteriorating fast.

What type of spren? How do they look like, how do they behave? Are they corrupted?

Is it based on the Aons of the building, or is there a separate source? Same question regarding the boundary in the CR.

Could please explain that part more? What type of Aon? If you write the windows, do you mean the glass or the wood/ plastic? And again, what type of Aons. Same question with the doors. Where are the Aons?

Are the turrets invested? What kind of defenses?

Sorry for the questions, but your answers were way to general for me to write a useful post, that we don't need to discuss afterwards. (Which is what I'd like to avoid.)

What would happen if people did try to Alleytravel into the building?
(Also, kind of curious how this would work. I guess it's possible, otherwise Voidus would have said something about that, but I'm curious how exactly it is accomplished.)

Just a note, a structure with that amount of investiture built into it would be INSANELY invested. Not even Elantris had that level of aonic warding. It would be almost impossible to construct that without setting off DA warning systems, and the whole building would take a long time to construct.

Psychic lightning burst from the ranks of the Astartes, the surviving Librarians of the Chapter driving the spren back with their combined might. The lightning disintegrated the spren wherever it touched down.

The Space Marine Xena had tapped stepped in front of her, raising its massive bolter.

"Daemons," it growled. It fired its weapon into the ranks of the spren. "What else could it possibly be?"

Xena laughed. "No, silly," she said, gesturing to the red river. "Not the spren people. The blood thing. Do you know what it is?"

I disagree on that. Very much so.

Elantris was an entire city with aons all over.

It would have been easily more invested.

And I disagree again on the point of it being incredibly difficult to create. The Bureau have many resources, enough to construct this.

It did take a few weeks, and they used a lot of workers.

Eh, they're funded by the Alleyverse's biggest criminal organization. I guess they probably have the resources for this, especially if they've been planning it for a while.

They are? Interesting. I did not know that.

That would be the Bureau of Villainry, correct?

"That's what I need help finding out," Deteca explained. She bit her lip, wondering if Eiran would know. Probably not - he was a newer recruit.

He's been there a year or two, so he knows some. But most likely the issue for TUBA at the moment is that their best fighters are probably in Bassopolis (however far away that may be)

Deteca shook her head. "There are strange entities - possibly the DA's - roaming the city and attacking. TUBA is getting to our tunnels, and hopefully, helping Alleycity residents who live aboveground get down there too."

Every entrance of The Underground Baker's Association's main building shut and locked itself in unison; the security system sent an automated message to other bases around the Alleyverse and even on other Shardworlds. Every TUBAist in the field received this message on their phone, spanreed, or other device if they had one. Deteca glanced down as she got it too, but she didn't bother reading the words. She'd written them, and they were seared into her memory like the sun.

This is a code yellow. TUBA is under attack. Assist the citizens of Alleycity in getting underground and stay safe. Protect them and yourselves at all costs.

Eiran looked down at the text and considered the next course of action. The issue with his ability is that he could only see the dangerous courses of action that failed. Meaning, a whole lot of death scenarios at the moment. Death by frying pan, death by trampling, death by suffocation. A lot of death. And other people's deaths too. Deteca, Tena, that kid who'd gotten everyone to quiet down. He just needed to remember that for every bad ending there were good ones too. He just couldn't see them.

"You got the message," he said to those around him. "Let's get going."

Deteca was able to get here pretty fast from wherever that meeting at TUBA was. That was either at the Citadel or at Bassopolis, I can't remember which...

Whisper stood on the tips of her toes, trying to get a better look at what was happening in the distance. She watched the continuous bombardment of the building from the sky, the rain of lights so similar to those which had once showered the entire city.

Whisper let out a small sigh, shoulders slumping down. She flicked her hair back and as she did so broke the Lightweaving she kept around it. Her face shifted, features slightly rearranged in a different expression, her eyes had a perpetual wideness to them as she anxiously scanned the streets below, her hair hung matted and unkempt across her shoulders and poking out from the top, two small little feline ears stood perked up.

Not a time for hiding anymore. She noted to herself as she leapt up to a nearby building.

I'm fine. She signed back to Kumiko. Heading out for a bit, I'll let you know if I find anything pertinent.

She broke out into a run and leapt from one rooftop to the next, making her way across the city.

Plenty of chaos in the air tonight. Whisper gave a small carnivorous smile to those below as she leaped over them, trying to find one of the smaller gatherings of people.

Alright, Kumiko signed back, feeling glad that Whisper was alright. She shook her head, wondering why she cared. Whisper was only a human after all. Again she shook her head, now wasn't the time to dwell on that. She switched to Rabbit, running towards a nearby building, then jumped. As soon as her feet left the ground she switched to Eagle, letting the lower weight launch her upwards onto the roof. She kept repeating that until she reached the highest building around. She looked down at the streets and the PlasmaCore building. Switching to Cat she sat down, looking at what was happening.
I'll stay here, she signed. I'll keep an eye on the place. Looking down at the place she found her thoughts going back to earlier, wondering why she cared about what happened to the others, to a few humans. She's a DA member, she thought. She probably isn't human anyway. The same probably goes for the others. She nodded, that made sense. Still, she could feel it nagging at her even as she was watching the situation below her unfold.

Some of them, but there are definitely some in the city. They're spread out.

If this is due to things we've discussed previously then that's going to set some things in motion, sure you want to do that this early?
I'd also appreciate getting the input of some other people from the bureau, this is supposed to be a group plot after all not an individually driven one, and this is going to be a pretty big deal.

The Bureau is mostly anonymous.

Meeker is inactive, but I assure you that the other Bureau members have approved my main plot outline.

And I'm actually not sure if the Alleytravel is impossible yet. I'm thinking I'll wait until the next phase?

Yeah I'd wait until you want to start the closing chapter for that.

Lita jumped a little at Laurelai's sudden flurry of motion, joining her in signing messages and reports to the appropriate channels, hoping that it might give her some room to plan a safe route to the TUBA forces.

Well, a safer route. Judging from the images pouring forth from the city, there didn't seem to be a "safe place" left - aside from here.

And we're leaving, Lita thought sourly, twirling her pen with a resolute grimace. Rusting wonderful.

"Do we have any idea where we'll find the majority of TUBA's members? Any intel on their private residences, known associates, friends? Some place we can start?"

That was generally the first rule of spying on one's enemies - keep track of them. Still, the DA wasn't exactly a typical organization. Depending on how you looked at it, the whole city was made up of enemies - or completely below the DA's notice.

Clearly, that attitude needs changing, Lita noted, wondering how exactly she might bring that point up. Later. You can brainstorm clever ways to get yourself disintegrated later.

"Well TUBA have a base in the city." Laurelai said, gesturing towards the area. "But apparently it hasn't seen too much activity from anyone in their leadership so far. Best guess is the private residence of one of their higher ups, but finding out where those are might take too long."

She frowned down at the map, wishing they had better intel on the group. The lack of any kind of show of force from TUBA had led many in the DA to dismiss them as a threat, but violence wasn't the only way someone could oppose them, and they were still one of the largest guilds in the city.

"Might be fastest to work backwards, find someone from TUBA and then tail them back to wherever they're reporting." She said, tapping her chin in thought. "They'll probably be trying to clear out civilians, they did something similar during the war. Heading towards a population center would be the fastest route then?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whisper crouched next to a chimney, looking down at the street below where a large mob surrounded a figure crouched down on the ground. They seemed to have pulled him out of a bakery and started beating him to death, apparently needing no more proof than his profession to incite them into a mad rage, in spite of the clear lack of any kind of affiliation with any of the cities guilds.

Interesting.

Whisper pulled out her spike, activating the conjoiner fabrial and began sending a message back to the DA.

Appears to be some kind of emotional manipulation, may require counteraction?

She left it at a suggestion, but the DA likely wouldn't leave the entire city to tear itself apart, if only because it might bury other more useful information on their actual goal. They'd probably send out Allomancers, or possibly some of the abominations that had soothing capabilities like the Dread, keep everyone's emotions in check.

Civilians get forced between two sources of emotional manipulation, likely that a few of them will break altogether if they haven't already.

With a small shrug she settled back against the chimney, keeping watch over this group as they travelled.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Voidus allowed the barrier to close behind him again as he entered, a brief wave of nostalgia rushing over him as he found himself encased once again by an ever shifting dome of Aonic energy. The monotonous thudding of the ground as the Guardian continued its route.

Voidus walked directly forward, passing just behind the Guardian as it circled, not looking it in the eye or holding any Investiture. He continued striding forward until finally he reached the base of the Worldspike itself, shimmering metallic surface rising up to a tip just beneath the barrier. He placed a gentle hand against it, testing that the charge hadn't diminished.

He gave a small, satisfied nod after a moment, withdrawing his hand and looking up at the spike.

"Been a while since I was here last." He said quietly, staring at the lustrous shine of the spike. "I've had a lot to deal with. The DA was still intact thankfully, I'd hate to think of all that wasted research. A few other small annoyances, nothing that can't be dealt with but they play with forces they don't understand. Even if one of them is that force made sentient, it still doesn't truly understand."

He gave a soft sigh, venting his frustrations as the cool air within the barrier swept around him.

"Well, it's not an excuse. Sorry it's been a while." Voidus said, patting the spike gently.

"I agree," Lita said. "That seems like the best option."

Actually, staying in here is the best option. She chewed her lip and leaned over the map, tracing one finger along the paper. "We'll need to find somewhere close enough to PlasmaCore to require immediate attention, but far enough away to avoid getting ourselves mixed up in all that mist." She pointed towards a neighborhood she knew to be full of people - her old neighborhood, actually.

I wonder if my flat has been overrun by bird-headed abominations? She wondered idly for a moment. Then, she shrugged.

"What about here? Lots of families, not too wealthy. Seems like the ideal spot for an evacuation attempt."
