Stormbreaker messaged Lusk again.

We're on our way to the Invincible Reason to coordinate out attacks more efficiently.  Requesting Permission to dock.

@I think I am here.

Permission Granted.

Lusk messaged back and he saw how the squad of Blood Angels were attacked by the spren.

"I'm sorry," he said to Azrael. An idea sprung to Lusk.\

"Spren are trapped in gemstones. You need to lure them in with something they want to trap them. Right now, those red spren want to kill any enemy of PlasmaCore. So we have a sacrifice, lure the spren to the bait, and trap them in a gemstone, or multiple."

They are? Interesting. I did not know that.

That would be the Bureau of Villainry, correct?

You are correct.

The Vortex was swirling bigger and bigger, inches from the edges of the room in some places.

This was perfect.

He stepped into the elevator, and descended.

Step two would begin soon.

Stombreaker docked with the Invincible Reason, his escort waiting out in space.  He stepped aboard, a huge intimidating figure in armor.  Flanked by Edalb and Hasharan, he imperiously strode to the bridge.

The door hissed open, and he and his men strode in to stand before the Ghostblood councilman.  Though he stood several feet taller than Lusk, Lusk seemed to dominate him nonetheless.

"Lusk," he said, "How have you been?"

As more and more portals opened around the city, even more abominations started to emerge. One of them was a heavily armored monstrosity with a lion's body, legs, and tail, but an eagle's head and wings. These creatures were ridden by the bird headed people wielding their frying pans and some now equipped with frogs that flashed the spectrum of light and when thrown, exploded on impact.

The aonic shield stood there, strong and solid. It was a shield. That's what a shield is supposed to do. It was powered by Aons growing stronger with each and every hit it took, drawing on investiture. But the shield wasn't alone. All around those attacking PlasmaCore were using Investiture, and the Vortex. It was swirling, turning around and around on itself, creating creatures - from Investiture. The Aons were connected to the building, and so was the Vortex. So when they drew on the Investiture again, after the Battleship fired it's canons at the shield, the shield grew stronger, stronger than in had ever been before. Inside the building, the Vortex grew, devouring Investiture to feed its growth. And then at one point the closest Investiture was the shield. So it sucked at the Aons, the shield growing weaker. A little bit at first, until it flickered.

For a moment the way to the building was open and the trapped spren used the chance. They escaped the barrier, dispersed. Some immediately got shot down by the troops of those protecting the city, of the guilds that had allied to defend the citizens and their home. Then the shield was there again, when the Aons drew on another source, but it was weak, only a matter of time until it would fail again, long enough for someone quick to cross the border, to head over to the building.

Quote

So the whole thing didn't go as expected. We are sorry for the frustration this caused.

Here is some general information about the building:

Doors and Windows are covered by Aons. If you know something about Investiture you can see, that only the door itself is covered, not smaller parts like the hinges.

Inside the building there is the large entry hall, where PlasmaCore asked for funds. In this hall there are several elevators. Same as in Alleycity monsters are all over the place, devouring dead bodies of those wearing the uniforms of PlasmaCore. They all lead to a second floor, with several labs, most of which are deserted right now. Some of them lead higher up to a third floor. The third floor consists solely of elevators. They are locked, but not invested.

The stories higher up: lots of offices, and more labs. Many are destroyed by the same creatures that run around in Alleycity. Top floor: a large suite, which is currently empty. There are papers scattered around and books, some of them are written on. The writing is almost unreadable but with time you might be able to decipher the information written down there.

The Vortex is on the second to last floor. It takes some searching but you can find another room. please tag us, once you step through there.

"Better," he said, "I get to experience twelve thousand years of youth."

He raised a hand, and one of his priests/bodyguards brought a simple army stool.  He sat, coming up to Lusk's chin now.

"Enough small talk," he said, "What's the Ghostblood plan?  My and my forces, small as they are, plan to do a small infiltration.  The Silent Gatherers are extremely skilled in such matters, but we need the shield to fall.  And we need the rabble in the streets to be distracted."

The Tattered One walked into a missile silo removed the warhead, strapped himself to the top of the missile, and conjured a series of spike from his body to peice the target, and was then launched at the Black Crusade orbital station.

Silva Rey tried to shot him down as she dropped into the city, but failed, and then called the base and said, "Well, he's your problem now."

Precursor special incursion squad 016 came into the city, rifles ready, to help those Dusk couldn't get out, their matte black, unmarked armor not really hiding them in the blood stained city,

Darkness, in a twist of fate (and some boredom on his controler's part) was right next to the portal from which the armored monstrosity emerged.  He charged at it, swing his two katanas with wild abandon.

Darkness possessed only limited knowledge of the physics behind his power.  But from a brief stint of research, he knew that whatever he powered with his energy also increased in strength.  If not, than the slightest motion would break multiple bones and render him incapacitated.  The katana in his hand also increased in strength as he swung it.

Therefore, it was able to shear through the ironclad leg of the monstrosity.  The thing fell down onto it's front, and Darkness lept over it's head.  Landing on it's back, it took only a quick swing of the sword to behead the frying-pan man.

Zokora stepped inside Shadesmar. What she saw made her blood freeze and she wanted to leave again, but then she stayed, stared at the barrier and the spren trapped behind. Angry spren, strange spren. She would have to ask Althea what they were. Althea knew such things. Althea in general would have been the better choice to come here. But she wasn’t. She’d really need to ask for an upgrade regarding her payment.

Walking closer she took a look at the barrier. It was strong, the spren moving fastl, pressing against it. It was pure chance that had her look up, when it faltered, when the barrier was gone for a moment and the spren rushed towards her. Zokora left, returned to the city. The Space marines. Maybe they could use this somehow.

She headed to them, remembered where she had placed them and simply addressed the first soldier she found.

“Where is your commander? Did the barrier falter here as well?”

Hey Vargo, the frying pan bird is a character. Just so you know. I think so anyways. The character might be another bird headed frying pan man.

Edit: Never mind, I was wrong.

The Rocket he was strapped to hit the station, and The Tattered one jumped off it, before it was sucked out into space and the wall was sealed shut. He looked around for someone to kill.

@Any body who wants to fight this guy, who would plausibly be there. Please?

Silva landed next to Darkness, and shot off the head of the decrepit corpse that was about to hit him with a spine whip.

"How goes it?" She yelled towards him as he decapitated the frying pan person.

Silas awoke, this time in a form-fitting enclosure, only allowing his head to touch air. A constant stream of water ran down onto this head and into his mouth, never relenting. He turned his head to the side, and with a look at his former master, he mocked, "The Eggshell? I thought that you saved this for the little children, you idiot."

Allak chortled. "That's because I want my children to be strong. You are weak now. When this week is over, you will be the mightiest of us all, my dearest son. Raised above on a dais of hatred and power. You are the one meant to lead us."

All these results within a single week? Where can I hire him?

Quote

HA. You don't want to hire him. The week (according to Allak's schedule) goes as follows: Step 1) physically and mentally break the patient through the Eggshell technique, which involves placing the subject into a form-fitting (usually Soulcasted) coffin-like object, leaving their head the only thing above the steel, with a leather strap keeping their head from lifting away and out of the falling water, which provides both, well, water (duh), and, when one is exposed to a constant stream of water, their skin will start to degrade, and the collision will become more and more painful as time continues. Basically the Straight-jacket from Damnation. Along with that, the ceiling is constantly flashing with psychedelic lights, which are very bright, along with many noises, such as creaking, 19 hz, giggling, quiet screaming, nails on a chalkboard, Revolution No. 9, heavy metal music, just an absolute cacophony of awful noises. Step 2) wash rinse repeat, usually for 6 days. Step 3) remove the Eggshell, and place the subject onto the spiking table, where (in Silas' case), they will receive a Divine Breath, stormform, envoy form, a Shade, three Mastermind level spikes, the list goes on and on(but it's a lot). However, the spiking will not take place.

The Stranger had travelled far this day. He had visited horrors untold, awoken monsters of madness, and summoned the terrors that lurked in the unknown. And they were all still deathl afraid of him.

But it was not the creatures in his laboratories that preoccupied his thoughts. It was his colleagues.

Machad grown so much, and he was running things differently, even as his power increased. Lita was a glimpse of a potential future, a reminder of days past. Of a time when the basics of Hemalurgy were a prize to be discovered, when things like time and resources mattered. It had been so long ago. So very long ago. Only Voidus would remember.

His friend had changed, beyond losing a significant portion of his power to a blasted sentience mishap. The Stranger could see it in his eyes. There was a sadness, a deep melancholy that lurked behind the joy of their reunion and the rage of the incursion. The fatigue made it harder to hide away, though Voidus had done a good job of it. But what could be bringing him such consternation?

The Stranger left an Alley that was full of floating boomslangs and Alleytravelled to Voidus’s office. But it was empty, his friend nowhere to be found. He focused, searching for  that unmistakable Investiture signature, until he picked up a trace signal. He immediately followed it and found himself staring at the barrier that surrounded the Worldspike. The Stranger considered the ramifications of what this meant, then decided to enter quietly. He opened a minimal portion of the barrier and slipped inside.

As he adjusted to the change in light, The Stranger noticed the Gaurdian moving along its designated route. Making sure to avoid it, he continued to move quietly and quickly. He saw Voidus and stopped, watching him for a moment. The sadness was more pronounced, flowing though him like a river of strife. His hand traced the lines of the the Worldspike

And The Stranger gained a mote of understanding. Voidus was bearing so much responsibility, so many expectations. When was the last time he had been allowed to just spend time in a lab? Voidus was at heart, a scientist. He had never desired acclaim or worship. And yet here he was, deified by opponents and colleagues alike. He was trapped in a cage of his own achievements.

The Stranger looked at his friend for a moment longer, then spoke softly. “I remember the day this spike was forged. Had we only known then what would come of it, perhaps we would have hesitated...”

He snorted “but I doubt it.”

Mike hastened through the streets. He avoided the monsters, used smaller passageways he remembered. He’d been trained here, and thankfully the training kicked in now, allowed him to avoid most of the trouble. He passed some of their troops, still evacuating, helping the civilians out of the city, protecting them. He felt a sliver of pride when he saw them, and continued his way, tried to keep out of the most trouble. When he rounded a corner he saw Wes, stomping on the ground, wildly staring at something. He was engulfed by a red mist and wolf took over. It happened so fast, so easily, that Mike lost all control. Wes was pack, the weakest of his pack.

Wolf leaped towards him, taking up speed. Wolf was large and wolf was fast. Hopefully fast enough to tackle him out of the mist and to give them both a chance to stay outside.

“Play the last five seconds of the feed back to me,” he told someone and there it was, a flicker in shield, a weakness. PlasamCore. They must have been rushing, maybe they were worried, but either way, they were making mistakes.

“New plan,” Lusk said to Stormbreaker, and then turned to address the ship. “New plan! The shield flickers! I want every analyst to find out why it flickers and to see if we can prolong it! We might not even have to waste resources and bodies going through the roof, if we time this right, we could barge straight through the front door.

He turned to look at Stormbreaker. “You’re squadron will be useful in this, however, they will not be alone. We’ll be sending forces from each of the allied guilds. Infiltration units.” He grimaced as he looked down at the feed. No sign of the Guns n’ Roses, they were recorded down as being good at reconnaissance.

Wes was stomping on ants when something large hit him by force and he was toppled out of the red haze, his emotions turning to normal as he stared down what had tackled him.

It was a wolf-man, a real werewolf looking back at him. “Oh, hi sir,” Wes said, hesitantly pushing his glasses up. He smiled slightly, and then more, it was so great to see Mike again.

“I killed lots of ants,” he suddenly said, wide eyed. “And Lusk messaged us, to unite with the other troops or something. Didn’t you say you had to meet a girl?”

He looked to Azael. “Where exactly is this teleportarium?”
