I would actually appreciate this.

The spren paused.

And then all hell broke loose.

Two dragons, giant and black, fire in their mouths, rushed down towards Stormbreaker, Edalb, and Zekora. The fog surrounded them too, and their eyes glowed a deep red.

A parrot-headed man swung a frying pan at Stormbreaker.

Two darts fired towards Edalb's back.

@Sorana @Vargo Seldon

Hasharan ran at the dragons, shardblade swinging.  Fire washed over him, deflected by his shardblade.  He sliced a dragon's wingtip, causing it to crash to the ground.

 Stormbreaker took the frying pan from the man, spinning it in his hand.  He'd been trained by a master for a few years in the sacred art of frying pan fighting.  He used the frying pan to dismember the parrot-headed man in one of the more difficult frying pan moves.

The darts bounced harmlessly off of Edalb's glassweave jacket.  The warriors lenses helped her to recover faster, and she ran at the source of the darts.

Stormbreaker called all of his men off, signaling the artillery to fire and cover their retreat.  He and his team ran for a ground car, Hasharan's elites distracting their pursuers.

Several viper drop-ships fired missiles towards the ground, while others evacuated Hasharan's elites.  They'd made it away from the scene of the battle with relatively few losses, but they weren't out of the woods yet.

Sorana, if you'd like Zokora to accompany us, now would be a great time to elsecall away.

Darkness looked as though he was going to strike, but at the last second missed and fell. Zan walked forwards, a grin spreading across his face, it would almost be a shame how easy it would be. He drew a knife from his belt and moved to strike, but even within the bloodlust he hesitated to kill someone who couldn't fight back. With the bloodlust weakened the part of Zan's mind that was still free took back control.

It felt like waking up, Zan opened his and saw Darkness lying there and he remembered what had happened during the last minute or so. He stumbled backwards dropping his weapons and fell down. His leg and arm hurt and stopped burning pewter so that he could feel the pain, he deserved the pain for what he had done and almost done. He just sat there with his head in his hands.

Silas awoke, lying on a couch. "Before you try anything, I took the liberty of removing your weapons," his former master said, back facing Silas.

"I don't need those knives, sir," Silas said, driving the last word into Allak. "I gave up the need for those tethers you gave me long ago." Silas rotated and jumped at Allak, his right arm glowing. Silas intended to pull out one of the spikes on Allak's back, but without even turning his head, Allak moved to the side and kicked Silas in the groin.

Zokora saw Storm and Edalb flee, the dragon flying after them and inhaled. Her body started glowing and she touched the others, grabbed them and elsecalled them all away. Lusk had told her to go to a roof, and that was where she decided to go, hoping that their troops would be there as well.

@Vargo Seldon

After a moment to catch her breath she looked over the city, the dragons easy to discern.

Two dragons are attacking. We need support.

She reported to Lusk and then hid, hoped they would concentrate on somebody else first.

Lusk first responded to her first message, sending her coordinates to the main Ghostblood collectives around the city, including the large group of soldiers on the roof. He sent each group a warning, ordering that they set up copper-clouds, aluminium bands or other methods of counter-acting emotional Investiture.

He then messaged a squadron of Ghostbloods (NPCs) to help out Zokora, as well as the Guns n’ Ninjas group, since I had occurred to him that scouting was not important now that they had decided to infiltrate the building.

Help is on the way.

Wes saw the message, but was too busy squishing ants.

“Hey!” He called to Zan and Darkness. “This says we should help out these people?!”

The haze retreated from Zan and Darkness, but continued to cluster around Wes.

The evil in that one was strong, and so was his bloodlust.

Edahs made his way around the mist and started heading towards the Plasmacore building again. He shot one last regretful look over his shoulder, then turned to focus on the task at hand.

Finding Nekorb.

Deteca glanced from Ark to her phone as it lit up with an alert sound. Acorn squash yellow security measures activated. She stared at the screen and almost didn't notice it buzzing with a text: Eiran confirming another strange appearance.

Her thumbs flew. Send to tunnels then go to frontt of base, press numeral one 5 times on keypad by door. System should recognize you. you know where the underground entrances are in tuba buildings? If not tell me. get EVERYONE down. She bit her lip. Theres a tablet in my desk drawer take it with you when you go dwn, type in d_i_e_k_a no caps. then tap enter. She sent it, then quickly texted a few other TUBAists, giving them instructions as well and telling them to listen to Eiran. Then, to her parents, she wrote:

I don't know what happened but mom/dad be safe get to tunnels if your able. If you aren't, im sorry, Ill stop him. idk if the craziness with the mist is who I think it is but things are bad so get out She sent it, then put her fingers to the screen again. please be okay.

Daa buzzed in curiosity. "Did something just happen? A clue as to the purpose of the mist, perhaps?"

His phone vibrated. That was quick, even for Deteca. Reading the directions, he groaned inwardly. He hated getting people's attention.

"Can I have you attention please?" he asked. No one looked at him besides for a little kid.

"The guy wants everybody's attention!" the kid yelled. "Everybody stop staring at the monster stuff and listen to Mister..." The kid trailed off, not recognizing Eiran.

"Sullivan. Eiran Sullivan," he said. All eyes were on him then. Great. "As most likely is apparent from the view outside, Alleycity is under attack. At the moment, we are unclear from whom the threat at hand is from. Nevertheless, as TUBAists, it isn't our way to ignore those in need." At least, he hoped he'd interpreted this part of Deteca's message correctly. "Because of this, we, along with other TUBAists in the city, are going to go into the tunnels and use them both for quick travel and as a safe protected haven for citizens who live aboveground. Understood?"

He recieved some nods, then people started filing out of the room. Part one, success. The kid finally left, leaving Eiran alone. He made his way to the front of the building and tapped in the code. Five ones in a row. After this was over, he'd have to talk to her about changing that to something a little more complex.

"Confirmation code required in order to [REDACTED]," the security system told him.

"[REDACTED]," he said. That at least was a decent code.

"Initiating [REDACTED] upon your exit."

"Thanks," he said. It was typically a stupid idea to thank a security system, but in the past, this one had spontaneously shown sass to rude people. Never hurt to be extra careful.

Eiran left the room and headed down the hallway to Deteca's office. It was unlocked, thankfully. The tablet was where she'd said it was. He took it and made his way to the nearest tunnel entrance. At this point, the hallways were empty. It turned out that even TUBAists could be efficient if they felt like it, he supposed.

Once below ground, he pulled out the tablet and typed in the password. Then, he pressed enter, unsure of what was supposed to happen.

Blood washed over the sidewalk outside Kolossal Dining. A small burger joint, it had fallen into disarray after the mist hit. In fear, people had entered. A fight had broken out, and before it could be resolved, a purple red-haze had swirled around the combatants, and it had gone downhill from there.

They had fought harder, and when anyone tried to stop, the haze hit them too. Bloodlust had filled the restaurant, and they had killed, and killed, and killed. He had in the kitchen for most of it, but the haze had engulfed him too. He had fought like a demon, stabbing with kitchen knives, throwing pots and pans, at one point literally ripping a mans throat out. He looked down at his bloodied hands, the blue uniform splashed with blood, most human, but one splash of orange Singer blood. He was the only survivor of the fighting, and he wished he hadn't.

Raolith looked down at the cold metal gun in his hand.

I can't live with myself, not after that.

He lifted it to his head, and with a bang, the world faded.

Whisper scanned the message quickly before connecting gazes with Kumiko again. She gave a small nod before stepping back out of the way of another frying pan as it hurtled between them.

Seem slow. But large numbers. Couldn't count. Couldn't see any different ones.

She brought her knee up and slammed it into the face of one of them, catching it just after a downswing.

Seem fragile enough. Not healing or harder than others.

The pen continued to spin in her hand as her feet danced around underneath her ocasionally spinning up for a counter but mostly just dodging, leaping and keeping some distance.

Haven't seen spikes.

Kumiko nodded and started typing a reply for KanMien when she heard a screech. Looking up she saw a creature swing a pan at her. Sighing she reached out and cut the tendons in its arm using her claws, and as it dropped the pan, screaming, she continued moving and sliced it's throat.
No spikes, she typed. Lots around, all over town probably. Slow, no special abilities. Haven't seen any different types. She paused. They seem kind of weak.
She send the message and then ran towards a creature that had gotten close to her, launching a drop kick at it's head.

***

KanMien looked at their phone, reading Kumiko's message. "They don't seem to have any abilities or spikes," they told Laurelai. "There are a lot of them, all over town, but they're supposed to be quite weak."
They tilted their head, thinking. "Something is off," they muttered. "Why would you unleash something like this? Even a basic cleanup team could deal with them in half an hour."

***

Fragarach smiled as a group of the creatures rushed at her. A powerful wind started gathering around her blade, making it heavy to control. She sliced her blade towards them, driving them back. One of them rushed at her, and the wind blew it away as she hit it with the flat of the blade, sending it careering through the other creatures. "Homerun!" She yelled, standing ready as the creatures got back up again. Just as they got up she smiled, blade held straight out to the side. "Fragarach!" She shouted as she swiped the blade forwards, an arc of air flying off it, cutting through the creatures, as well as the walls of the buildings in front of her.

A hellish light glowed on Seth's face as he tore apart the woman, slash by slash. Blood splattered his clothing, and screams and wailing could be heard in the distance. Purple-red haze swirled around him, and the mist had retracted. He cut her into a thousands of small gory bits, then walked away. He had left five others like her in the streets.  Many like him prowled, delighting in the bloodlust, the Thrill. Seth smiled as he saw his next target. She held a sword. Another Hunter then. He screamed, sprinting at her, a long dagger in one hand, a katana in the other. Seconds before he reached her, she shouted "Homerun!" Then "Fragarach!" That was the name of this Hunter then.

He swung the katana at her back, the blade whistling through the air.

Deteca shook her head. "There are strange entities - possibly the DA's - roaming the city and attacking. TUBA is getting to our tunnels, and hopefully, helping Alleycity residents who live aboveground get down there too."

1. That's fair. :P

2. It's unlocked in this instance because she was very disturbed and left hurriedly, but that's not a usual occurrence. Normally she does lock it.

3. See below...

Every entrance of The Underground Baker's Association's main building shut and locked itself in unison; the security system sent an automated message to other bases around the Alleyverse and even on other Shardworlds. Every TUBAist in the field received this message on their phone, spanreed, or other device if they had one. Deteca glanced down as she got it too, but she didn't bother reading the words. She'd written them, and they were seared into her memory like the sun.

This is a code yellow. TUBA is under attack. Assist the citizens of Alleycity in getting underground and stay safe. Protect them and yourselves at all costs.

Bird hybrids. With frying pans.

Rust!” Lusk yelled, banging his hand into a table. No doubt, this would be another thing caused by PlasmaCore to delay them.

“Are all our units on the roof?” He asked Silphio and the Giant Space Marines.

“The quicker we infiltrate, the faster all these things go away!”

@Grey Knight

@Nohadon

He also sent a message to his TUBA allies.

We need your soldiers on the PlasmaCore building roof. We’re planning an infiltration and we need every sword, gun and creature we can get.

Darkness blinked blearily as the haze retreated.  He saw Zan standing over him, and prepared himself for death.  But the blow never came.  He looked, and Wes was squishing ants furiously.

"Hey!" Wes yelled over to them, "This says we should help these people?!"

Darkness nodded and stood shakily.  He dragged Wes out of the bloodfog, and asked him what the message said.

———

Stormbreaker shut his eyes as the fire was about to overtake the ground car.  Then he had a quick feeling of being turned inside out.  He opened his eyes again, noticing that they'd been elsecalled away.

He quickly messaged Lusk, seeing what the Ghostblood plan was.  While Lust wasn't technically his superior, The Diagramists were in a treaty with a much stronger guild.  This tended to lead to The Ghostblood council telling him what to do often.

Still it would be best to mix it up at times.

The bloodlust fog followed Wes, trying to get him to keep squishing ants.

~~~
The mob, which had started to fade, was now back in full force, gaining member after member, purple-red haze surrounding them. They rushed through the city, attacking anyone they could recognize as a guild member, and sometimes people who weren't.
Was there something I missed where someone landed on the PlasmaCore roof? Cause there's a lot of defenses against that, and it would have some problems.
While it seemed others weren’t affected anymore, Wes kept stomping on the ground. “Die! You puny insignificant insects! Raaaaaahh!” The full force of his divine rage and bloodlust was channeled as he ruthlessly crushed these ants. No mercy.
“It says to head to the roof!” He yelled.
Stormbreaker said he knew the coordinates for the rooftop defences, so that’s where the infiltration is planned to happen. iirc, Stormbreaker was on the roof with some NPCs but since he’s left it’s just a group of NPCs. But the roof’s currently the goal we want everyone to unite at.
Sorry, TUBA's definitely the most behind out of everyone involved.
It’s fine :)
Lusk paused for a second. What.
Do you not see the fog and the creatures attacking civilians with frying pans and the colossal creature made of fog and the haze that’s making everybody want to kill each other as well as organising a civilian riot against guilds? That’s why we’re infiltrating this group, because we’ve traced the source of all these problems to them. Destroy the group, destroy the problems that are arriving because of it.
