Shana stepped closer and looked at the crystal. Inhaling more stormlight to fuel her body healing slowly. Keeping her weight of her leg, she knelt down. It looked strange, as if it was growing, pulsing slightly in this eerie violett light. She touched it with her finger and hastily pulled her hand back. It'd parked her.

"I have no idea, what it is. Ben could know. He's smart."

Sorry I was gone for so long!

Ben ran over, worried. He had stayed back from the fighting- he was terrible at it and would have only been a hindrance. He placed his hand on Shana’s forehead and healed her wounds. He then bent to inspect the strange crystal. “It almost looks as if it were some sort of infection, the way it is growing into the ground...,” he mused, fascinated.

Doc scatched at the stubble on his face thoughtfully.

"It's Voidlight. The Voidbringers use it in the same way we use Stormlight. It's called Voidbinding. They love Voids. One day I'll figure out why."

Ben placed his hand on her forehead and she felt better, warmth floated through her body and she relaxed when the pain vanished. She smiled at him gratefully.

"Thanks, Ben."

She pointed at the thins grootlike vines, that slowly started to crawl over the earth.

"Can we get it out somehow? Maybe shovel it into a bucket?"

“Perhaps if we can sever the vines...” Ben summoned his Glintblade and cut through one twice. As soon as it died, another one grew back in the blink of an eye. “Wow.”

Shana moved the earth around the crystal away. It was spreading, slowly, but steadily. The crystal was still glowing, pulsing in his violett light. The light felt wrong, so utterly wrong.

Rob touched the crystal.

“I wonder what happens if we break it,” he said bluntly.

“I wouldn’t do that- it could release all of the voidlight inside and do who knows what.” He paused, thoughtful. “Can you try constant division on the vines and any new ones that grow?” he asked Shana. “Maybe if I can lift it from the ground before it can grow new vines, it can be permantely removed.”

“I can encase it in stone,” Rob said. “That could stop it.”

He turned. “Hello Ben. How’s Glint?”

“Good, good.” He turned to the spot of light on his shoulder, whispering to it. Glint disliked talking with other humans. “He says that your idea would likely work very well. How about we try it?”

“Ben you lift it while I cut the vines and then you encase the thing in stone, Rob?"

“That makes sense to me,” Rob said, his face still completely neutral. “I’ve got homework to do after this.”

"I like idea."

Shana nodded.

“Alright,” Ben said, nodding, sucking in a bit of Stormlight, and placing his hands on the sides of the crystal. “On the count of three... One, two, three!” He heaved as hard as he could on the crystal.

“On the count of three... One, two, three!”

Shana sucked in stormlight and at three she mentally grabbed the vines. It was hard to concentrate, to turn a part of them to dust, but the were still thin and somehow she managed. It was exhausting, they tried to reconnect, they were fast. Pressing her hand against the ground she mentally ripped them apart, sweat beads forming on her forehead.

"Rob... now!"

She called to him in a strained voice, when the crystal moved upwards.

Andrew wheeled to them "Sorry I missed the fight. I was hiding over there. And checking things. Anybody hurt? No? Sweet stormlight..."

He started furiously wheeling home.

"Oh, yes, there are cops on the way here. Two minuter at most. We were seen only by a camera, but I already erased its recordings. It was good type. Old, yet dependable and...

“Rob... now!"

“Do any of you remember that riddle with the boats?” Rob asked and then realised he was up. Grabbing a rock beside him he hovered it over the crystal and pressed them against each other, forcing the rock to become like clay and mold over the crystal. The pressure was immense, but finally he’d managed to seal the crystal in a stone.

“Looks fine,” he said, encasing the rock with more rock, and more, so the crystal didn’t escape.

Shana observed how the stone formed around the crystal.

"Good job. Let's take that thing home."

Turning her head she smiled at Andrew, called after him.

"Thanks, Andrew. They tend to be complicated when it comes to weapons. We really should go."

She stayed where she was, tried to regain her breath. She'd run for hours any time, but her surges, they were hard. Probably she needed to train them more. But sport was so much more fun.

Ben, seeing how tired Shana was, placed his hand on her forehead to heal her again. He felt bad that it was his idea that had gotten her to be so exhausted.

Shana subconciously smiled at Ben when he placed his hand on her forehead again. His hand was cool against her heated skin, and was he worried? Energy floated through her and she felt better, stronger.

"Ok, Rob. Simply throw her onto your back and lets go. Two minutes thirty seconds left."

Andrew told Rob and she turned her head, almost growled at Rob.

"Don't you dare."

She pushed herself to her feet, swayed slightly and inhaled some stormlight. It rushed through her veins, helped her regain her balance. Hastily she covered her weapon and then forced herself, to wait, the stormlight urging her to move.

"What about the bodies?"

Have they dealt with Voidbringers before and are these ones any different from normal ones?

I wouldn't set them as too experienced. We all acted as if we fought them before, so maybe a few times?

Think they are nornal. Burn? Soulcast? Eat?

"Ah, didn't think about these... Rob, can you sink them in the ground so we can get rid of them later?

Good point, Leros."

Andrew gulped "I will stay hidden here and lightweawe some false evidence...

Or rather have all evidence disappearar." Andrew grinned half worried half nervous.

“It would probably be best if we got rid of all of the evidence,” Ben said. “A lightweaving can only last so long.”

"I'm not experienced enough to turn them into dust."

Shana spread her hands apologetically.

"I think Rob is our best option right now."

“That’s ok,” he said, glad that Shana wasn’t going to turn anything else into dust. It seemed to take a lot out of her, and she was still swaying even after his healing. “Er, Rob, you know your surges best. Please try and hide the bodies however you can.”
