Which book/TV show/movie/etc.?

Oh, no, I meant that I wrote. Alleyverse, All Lights Quenched. Sorry, I should've been clearer.

Voidmaker?!!

(I can tell that it’s really well written, and I loved all of the emphasis on that last sentence, but I’m fairly new to the Alleyverse so I don’t understand the full significance of Voidmaking, or even Deteca:blink: Would you mind giving a brief explanation/history of both so that I may more fully understand and appreciate your awesome writing?)

Yay, thank you so much! ^_^

So Voidmaking is, iirc, using the Void (not sure how to explain that. The Vortex was pulling on it. It's like anti-Investiture, it's...the Void) to just destroy stuff. Voidus is really powerful with it, so is Sudiov, and Mac Snapped into it when Voidus was released from the barrier. I forget if the Stranger can. It's not technically evil (at least I don't think so) but since hardly anyone can do it and those who can are DA, Deteca thinks of it as evil, like Hemalurgy (though that's not precisely evil either, and she somewhat knows that, but it's hard to get rid of prejudices. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT).

To me, the significance of it is in the contrast. It's just another magic system, but it's one that my character sees as being wrong, and she sees herself as a good person (at least, we'll say that for now, let's ignore her past shall we ;)), since her guild was basically founded to do good and be opposed to the Dark Alley. What she needs to do is find the contrast, recognize that gray areas exist.

OOC her development is a way of saying "Yes, we all have our own guilds, but loyalties aside, none of us are perfectly good or bad." Morality is a spectrum, and it's a very subjective one.

I certainly didn't invent it, though, so I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to history and stuff like that. @Voidus would be a better bet.

“So, how have you been, Albus? I haven’t seen you since graduation,” Little Bear conversed, “I always knew you would be headmaster one day.”

“I’m actually a ghost, now. It’s pretty nice, if a bit boring.”

Little Bear cringed, “Ooh, sorry about that. At least you won’t have to worry about dying anymore,” Little Bear attempted to make the conversation less awkward. Bringing up a ghost’s living life was never a good way to start a conversation.
