kenod Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 I can help with the world building as well, both sci-fi as well as fantasy. I'd recommend creating separate threads for the world building though, possibly also creating a google doc for actually writing down details. These type of things can grow really large really fast, and might clutter stuff up. Also, for horror are we talking about cosmic horror, victorian/gothic horror, slasher horror, phychological horror, @Voidus? You don't have answer if it'd spoil the surprise though.

I had an idea for a world that has a network of underground river tunnels that no longer have water, and instead wind blows through them at speed, creating a constant low hum/whistle. These windways are dangerous but allow for faster travel between places. Another idea: A world in which ~half the planet has phased into another realm, meaning that giant chunks of reality are sort of scooped out of the landscape. Travel is dangerous, so people largely don't move between established safe zones. Cartography is a risky and high-paying profession. Most of the northern polar region is totally gone - you can see directly down through the layers of the earth where that portion of the world has gone missing. The last safe city lies within sight of The Edge, but all is not well. About once every few days, someone will leave the city, walk to The Edge, and step off, vanishing completely. No one knows what calls them, or what happens to them, but no one who has ever stepped off The Edge has ever come back. I have a lot of fantasy ideas, but several have magic systems that don't really fit well into Cosmere terms. Several others stray into science fiction territory. One idea involved concentrated magic forming rocks underground that could be used for power in a similar way to coal.

That one is mostly roleplay, without a real plot, but your character could get to know some others. Apart from that we are working on setting up some more plot focused threads right now, the first one might be around discovering a part of the world, that hasn't been discovered yet, the other will follow as soon as we have the worldbuilding completed. Then, if you want to have your character join an organization, the bloodflame gang is hiring members right now, you could also join that thread, as most characters are just getting initiated. 1
