Anthony was shaken out of his trance by Mike's anger.

His face regained color, and he contemplated whether this was just a Mike thing, or if this was something he should join in, supporting the leader of the Guns N' Ninjas. He stood there, torn between the options.

~-~-~-~-~

Ronin looked at the stage, grinning that Anthony had been selected. Then that upstart. The child had the nerve to go against his superiors, his betters? Ronin didn't like it. But Ronin wasn't in charge, so Ronin wouldn't intervene.

Lord Arkos growled under his breath, his fists clenched in fury. He shook a little bit. This boy, Mason, had the audacity to refuse them. Well, Ark would show him. Ark had punished Matthew before. He hadn't killed him. He had done far worse. But he had also given him a gift. This time... this time Ark wouldn't be so kind to little Michael. He would make Maximus pay.

Seom went forward, smiling and confused.

The short brown-haired woman smiled. She raised a pencil to her neck, then aimed it so the lead was facing toward Mr. Itiah. She whistled and smiled, then pressed her thumbnail to the eraser on the end. A long dart shot out of the front of the pen and straight toward Mr. Itiah's neck. With the poison inside, he'd be unconscious in three seconds. @I think I am here.

“Michael Austen! Wesley Miller! Seom! Zan! Anthony! Tels! Get up here and collect your certificates, and a promotion of Assassin I. You all are underlings no longer!”

Tels grinned when he heard his name called. Walking up to the stage, he collected his certificate and began to walk down the stairs. When the dart shot past him, and into Mr. Itiah’s neck, Tels’ grin grew even larger. This was the deadly stuff he had come for.

We'll see if it comes to that :P

As Mike left the stage Mr. Itiah held his promotion out in front of him. He handed the certificates to the other people who had been called in the stage.

I always thought Mike was a nickname for him, he thought, a little upset he’d messed the promotion naming up. So I wanted to use his full name.

Before he could say anything a pencil struck him in the neck, attacking his windpipe. Posion? Mr. Itiah’s gurgles of pain were only enhanced by the microphone, before he collapsed on the stage in three seconds, unconcious.

The audience gasped. What was this?

A young girl stood next to the brown-haired woman, glancing nervously back and forth from her to the stage. Was this really going to work?

Mike heard a commotion and when he turnedaround, he saw Mr. Itiah, dead.

"He's been assassinated." he stated quietly, felt snake stir in glee when she watched the scene. Mr. Itiah was dead. It felt like fate, like the real, the good thing to happen. It was great, finally, finally it was over, he was gone. He had been the only one who had cared for him. The one who had looked after him after the spiking. He had been the one he went to, when he betrayed Bella. He had been the only superior he'd trusted.

Slowly he moved backwards, tried to find someone, he knew, but they were all on the stage. Not that it mattered. If he was the one to die, he would be dead already.

Zokora saw the dart, watched Mr. Itiah slump on the the stage and started giving orders.
"Lock down the hall." She said quietly, and waited until her order was oked, until their guards started their work. Then her eyes quickly moved over those that attended the celebration. With a quick gesture she asked some of them to come over. She had to put someone in charge, and she had to deal with some other things first. Making sure the other member got away safely, that the news of this were communicated in an easy an professional way.

Ene, Oduim, if you feel like your spies should be included as well, then just have them join the group.

Sorry for the late reply. This is right after Itiah gets hit by the dart.

Vio stopped playing looking at Mr. Itiah reaching down and activating a device on his belt. Six spikes shot out of it and hit Mr. Itiah in the chest and brain. Killing him. Quickly sheathing his violin Vio dropped the device and blasted it with tensor power, leaving nothing but dust as proof. In the chaos nobody had noticed the violinist kill their Mr. Itiah for real. They would all be hunting another person. Vio looked over and looked horrified at Mr. Itiah'd death.

Nila ran toward the group that was being motioned to by a woman. She noticed that violinist killed Mr Itiah. Her only regret was that she didn't kill him herself. He did deserved it after all, however those Uninvested people are strange. 'What do you want," she said to the woman who waved her over a cold glint in her eyes. @Sorana

Mari watched in shock as Mr. Itiah suddenly fell down, felt panic spread through the hall. She watched as one of the other speakers took charge. Seeing her gesture at her to come she walked over to her, trying to look calm.

Rhaeba dropped the pencil to the ground and crushed it under her foot, then stumbled back from the stage and screamed, as though horrified by the sudden death. Other cries joined hers, and she started to weep brokenly, turning and pushing through the crowd. She glanced for a split second at Vio, then tapped into their radio channel with a little gadget on her fingers and made their boss' orders from earlier repeat in his ear. A great, well-respected Ghostblood leader has just been assassinated. You're scared, and you're trying to get away. @That Violin Guy

Right Vio thought as the message played in his earpiece. That's a thing I need to do. He started running for the door.

The GB Plot has begun!

Wes scrambles as all around the crowd began to realise the seriousness of the situation. Wes looked at Mr. Itiah, and a traitorous part of him was happy. The man everyone thought was nice, the one who’d scarred Wes, dead. But, dead. This was huge, someone assassinating the Ghostbloods at their own event?

“I can’t do this,” he said quietly to Mike and Seom and backed away. Where would he go? That meeting place, about the ACE mining. Yes, he’d go there, take a break from all this GB stuff. It was too much. Mike and Seom knew his device numbers they could contact him if they needed anything, and he ran away from that place, into the open air, and away.

Mike watched Wes run away, leaving him behind like that, and something in him broke. He had hoped to talk to Wes, ask him a few questions. Not that it mattered. They all didn't care anyway. Why should they? He was nothing but an Underling. If Ark had heard his words, he was as good as dead anyway.

Slowly he drifted over to a group around the Righthand's assistant, reluctantly followed her gesture to come over.

====================

Zokora nodded at those in front of her.

"Find out who was behind this." She commanded calmly. "Mike over there, can contact me, should you need a higher ranking person. Otherwise I trust you, to take care of this."

For a moment she looked at them.

"I suppose you get started."

I don't like to have two active characters in the same thread, so I hope I don't need her for this plot. I only posted for her in the first place to get this started.

The doors hadn't quite been secured when the crowd started pushing through, gunshots firing behind. Rhaeba clicked a small button on her palm repeatedly, the speakers used to project music during the later party making the noise. People screamed and ran, and Rhaeba went with them, pushing against the person in front of her to try and get out of the main doors.

Seom was frozen, unsure what to do or think as Wes ran away.

Tena jumped onto the stage and rushed to Zokora. "What's the situation looking like?" She was in full, flat battle mode, emotionless and ready to do anything. @Sorana

Vio lashed himself toward the roof. As he fell he used a blast of tensor power to blast through the roof. He lashed himself toward the new inn. The Bleeding Spike.

Talas walked through the doorway just in time to see Mr. Itiah crumple in a heap on the stage. "Drat. It seems I am too late to stop that from happening." Qucikly he glanced around the room, looking for Tena. His mother. Not some target. The woman who raised him. The woman who probably didn't even think he was still alive. The day Talas became, well, Talas, he left his family. Six months spent training with the man who turned him into this. He had all of these new skills and yet he couldn't go and say hello to the woman who raised him. She might as well have been a stranger to him. After all, she didn't even know his name anymore.

”Hello?”

Mari listened to Zokora, and looked at the others next to her, wondering if they were feeling the same doubts as her. How where they to solve the murder of Mr. Itiah? They were assassins, not cops. In the end she just nodded at her and walked to the corpse to inspect it. "Any of you have an idea on where to start?" She asked.

Tara stared up at the ceiling in disbelief, then shook her head. She'd failed. She had one job, to protect the party's attendees, and she'd failed. A high profile Ghostblood had been assassinated, at a Ghostblood ball, of all places. Perhaps there was some irony in that.

"An assassination." Zokora replied to Tena and shook her head. What a mess. An assassination at their gala. Again. Were they never able to have a party without somebody blowing up the place? "Can you help them to look into this?"

Mike followed Mari to the corpse. "Hi. I'm Mike." He introduced himself and then shook his head. "Yeah, I suppose you know that, after earlier." He looked down at the corpse. "They shot something at him. Maybe we can find a projectile." Paling he looked at the destroyed body.

"He saved me once. And his last memory is me shouting at him." he whispered and stared at what remained of Mr. Itiah.

Seom followed Mike and stood next to him, still shocked.
