Tom sighed again, hollowly. "Then... I should have stopped him. I should have known he stood no chance against Samika. Maybe without the blue serum..."

He looked up at her. "And now. It's been a month, and you're worse than ever. I've tried, but..."

He trailed off and sighed again. "Are you sure you don't want the yellow serum?"

Thought stared at him for a moment. Tears began streaming down her face, but she did not look away. "I will. I'll take it."

Tom hesitated for a moment, then reached into a pocket and pulled out a vial of yellow liquid. He offered it to her.

Recently TLT has been occasionally taken over by super serious roleplays that eventually spawn their owns threads. It’s strange.

The serum tasted stronger this time- more bitter, with a richer aftertaste. It flowed through Thought, washing away doubt, regret, and sadness, bringing a powerful sense of peace and acceptance.

Tom watched, wistful. Many times, he'd wished to take that serum himself. But the damage he'd done to his soul could make that impossible, even on rebirth. 

He'd somehow managed to keep others from stealing it. It was powerful; it healed not only physical injuries, but also spiritual damage and even mental wounds. The most scary part, however, was what it could do in combination with other serums, especially the black one. Doing that... that had led to all of this.

But maybe he could fix it, or at least some of it. The serum wouldn't make her forget AJ, but it would accelerate the process of recovery from grief. It would even help with her deeping feelings of self-doubt and regret over her former Shard.

Hopefully, once the serum had done its work, she could be happy again.

Thought breathed in, feeling a powerful warmth wash over her. It seemed to burn through her veins, flushing out the cold. She resisted it. She wanted to stay here in her grief for some reason. But the serum bid her let go. AJ was gone. And that was... okay? Her barriers broke. Peace flooded within her and she gasped. The cracks in her soul were melded together while the emptiness in her stomach began to sting. It hurt terribly for a moment and then dissipated. So much change in a moment. It was a bit terrifying, but the heavy sense of peace silenced her fear. Slowly, it tricked out leaving her feeling... Well, feeling. The gaping hole in her heart that had been bored into her when AJ had died was mended and for the first time in a month, she felt like she could actually breathe.
