She smiled a little.

An honor to be part of yours, as well.

The breeze vanished into the storm, and she was gone.

I will dw

I have a beautiful idea for his end

Cricket fell on one knee, paying his final respects. He summoned Redemption, the Blade of light. He smiled. It had returned to him. He was worthy of the Blade once more.

He drove it into the sad, and placed his hands on the crossguard, bowing his head. "Winds bless you, Glass. Always."

Glass watched sadly, tears welling in her eyes.

She remembered when she and TwinStorm and Haly had first begun as Authors. How happy and excited they'd been to watch their characters interact and go on silly, pointless little adventures. To see them help each other through the rough times. All the celebrations, the victories, the losses they endured together . . .

How long ago that felt now.

She only hoped they could all find peace after this. Every last one of them.

Storm appeared, across from her, arms folded.

"It's been a wild ride, hasn't it?" he said softly.

Kansas turned his attention to the events. He kept Minecraft up, because who knew when Heir would reply, but he was still keeping an eye out.

So, too, were Asharak and Dark Cep, and even Cep, trapped as he was. Even Aeryn recognized that this duel held significance.

She pulled him into a hug and started to cry. She wished he were really here.

"Sometimes I wish we could go back," she whispered through the tears.

"Other times I wish we'd never started at all."

Shatter snapped into existence, his form (that was only visible to Authors) breaking and reforming in numerous fractals and patterns. This was something he had to witness with his full and undivided attention.

The winds blew over the water, and the trees stirred. Storms were blowing in.

Storm thanked him for his respects silently. Finish the story. That was all that remained.

"It's ironic, how we're just like them in that regard. Our characters . . ."

So is Rirrom saying this to Erdikan, or following the others, or split into two and doing both at once?

She buried her face in his shoulder.

"I wish- I wish we could keep those feelings with us. Go back to when we started . . . make things better for them. Be happy again."

Split into two and doing both at once sounds like the silliest option so let's go with that

Shatter turned to face Glass and Storm. “I have heard of a Clearing where they can go to live out their days in peace,” he said.

"It won't be the same. The stories we built . . . they're beautiful. Their stories are beautiful. And now . . . we move on. Treasure the stories, treasure the memories, but keep moving on. Keep living."

"Once this ends . . . I . . . want to move on. Continue living. Cricket's story has gone on long enough. It's time for the end, and maybe sometime . . . maybe we can begin again. Return. For now though, we shoulder on."

Erdikan glances around quickly, considering his options. Not many; he already had done what he came here for. “Fine.”

Asharak grins. The time is right. He shifts, and appears before them, grabbing Taeidin and Erryin and pulling them back to his last world

After them, the door finally ruptures, flooding the entire area with an intense and explosive light before collapsing in on itself.

Ash watched the Thread solemnly. He has never really known or interacted with Cricket, but he thought he understood. Why Cricket had to do this. And so he silently honored the close of Cricket’s and TwinStorm’s time in the Thread.

They stand in the middle of a clearing in a forest, filled with flowers, its only real feature a small house off to one side.

Asharak seemed slightly distracted, but turned to Erryin. "Hello, Erryin." He smiled slightly, sadly, knowingly. Then he turned to Taeidin. "And hello, Taeidin. Seems I arrived just in the nick of time." His lips twitched, laughing at a joke that it seemed only he understood.
