NameIess Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 (edited) God Killer stood on an infinite plain of greyness in a place with no sun, waiting for his quest to continue. Subversion appeared beside him, midnight black hair fluttering behind her as if in a breeze. She wore a dress made from shadows, and her silver eyes seemed to glow with an ethereal light as she regarded the would-be wielder of a Plotblade. "Before you are two doors." She gestured, and a red brick wall appeared before God Killer, two identical wooden doors set within it. "Open one of them, and you will be attacked by a vicious and deadly monster. Behind one of them is another set of two doors the same as these. There are thirty sets of these doors you will have to pass through before reaching your final trial." She chuckled softly. "it would appear that your odds of reaching the final door without being attacked by a monster are less than one in a billion. "The Evergod knows where this is, but will not say. However, you know where it is because of them, thus it can be assumed that you do not have it, else you would not need them to tell you. Presumably, Asharak does not have this paper, or else Rebus would already have it. And Krys also cannot have it, as the Evergod wants their subject to get the paper, but you say you are sending Krys away, which would make it harder for their subject to meet with Krys. Unless, the subject is on the homeworld already and the paper is being delivered to them, but that is not a quest. And so, assuming it is with a person here as it exists in multiple states at once, that leaves it either with Bacon or Atlas." He turns to face Cep. "Do you agree with this reasoning?" @Kansas Stormcursed

Every single door turned out to be a monster, though they died easily when taken by surprise. As God Killer passed through each door, he felt a slight ripple pass through him, as if he was washed in a wave of invisible force. Other than that, his progression was uneventful. The thirty doors passed quickly, and soon he had passed through the last one. God Killer stood now in a small room with one door. Before him stood Subversion, arms folded as she regarded him thoughtfully. "It didn't take you long to discover the secret, did it? Or was it luck that guided you?" She shrugged. "Beyond this door is your final challenge. both the Blade you seek and the trait it embodies lie beyond. And so I will ask you one more time. Will you continue your quest? I cannot promise that you will die, but the odds of you dying are... astronomically high."

So, to solve this, I wish to come to a resolution with you." “I would agree with you - what do you propose?” Rebus smiled, but looked at Malevolence very carefully. The man was both clever and opportunistic - there was little chance he would offer Rebus a deal without expecting to gain something greater than a shot at Antagonist. Meanwhile, a man with several parts of his body replaced with clockwork - including his jaw - was very alarmed to find the Dreamsmith back. He dove for a workbench, snatching some sort of device off of it and disappearing. 23 hours ago, CoderDrag0n8 said: Shackled Dream sighed. "Listen. The weapon went flying, but even so Shadow came in slashing, aiming at Rebus’ abdomen. But he was slowing. Prolonged combat in the weak light weakened him. But grimly he fought on nonetheless. Rebus appreciated that - he was already setting aside a bit of his mind to scheme for whatever prank he would offer. Rebus stepped backwards, having to cheat a little and use utility fog to move fast enough. “Your tenacity is admirable, Shadow. I commend you for that.” Then he switched Antagonist to a one-handed grip, making a fairly wild swing with the ax side as he braced the weapon against his forearm - and suddenly blinked Antagonist out of existence, resummoning the halberd and executing a lightning-fast lunge. 18 hours ago, Sequence said: Hm..? … … Hello- … … Oh, Rebus? He wore his futuristic armor - as he often did, these days - colored in dynamic blocks of black, white, and grey, separated by glowing purple lines. But the truly significant thing about his outfit was the crown he wore - glowing with darkness, the tines viciously sharp. Rebus smiled broadly, watching for Sequence’s reaction as she realized what it was. “We never did have your customary meeting, you know.” 2 hours ago, Hawks said: Sorry you didnt quote or tag so I didnt get a notification "uhm.
