NameIess Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 2 hours ago, Sequence said: Sequence gasped and quickly wrapped Unintelligible in a big hug. "It's so good to see you, old friend! No worries at all, this party will last as long as it needs to. How have you been? What have you been up to?" Sequence offered him a cup of tea as she released him. Unintelligible took the cup of tea gratefully. "I've been wandering around for the most part, looking for stories of Plotblades. Didn't find any good ones." He sighed. "Seems I'm doomed to be just another side character. But enough about me, what about you? How's life been lately? Gone on any more exciting adventures?" 1 hour ago, TwinStorm said: "A mysterious voice told me to ask her about Endings." replied Perseus, " I believe it is the key to saving my people." "I see. Do you intend to harm Moni in any way?" 1 hour ago, xinoehp512 said: Nogard smiled, taking Subversion's hand and leading her to the dance floor. "Why so?" "Because they're clearly in love with each other. Isn't that obvious?" Subversion spun around, black hair shining in the moonlight, dark cloak transforming into a black dress accented with silver. "What do you think? Too dark?" 45 minutes ago, Immortal Platypus said: "Us? Make things up? We would never." His eyes glinted sarcastically. "Besides, we weave different things. I weave Plot itself. I change the course of what would have happened into what does happen. And yes, it is different from Narration. It doesn't work with Chaos, but is much more effective in a Plot-important fight. He wove something. I forgot what, but it wasn't Plot." Yeah, but what does it do? 45 minutes ago, Immortal Platypus said: "Any specific one?" Platypus asked him. "The Council of the Brave Adventurers has accused the Great Wizard of trying to take some very important ones for himself, and I'm trying to stop anyone from taking them." "No, all I found was rumors of useless Plotblades like 'Love Triangles' and 'Filler'." Unintelligible shrugged. "Still, I felt like there was something else out there. A Plotblade of real importance, just waiting to be found."

As he opened the door, he knocked a pot of coffee that had been awkwardly balanced on the counter to the floor, where it shattered loudly. Moni woke up with a start and burst out into the living room behind Perseus. "Are you the one who's after me?"
LessName Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Faunus perused the refreshments, humming happily to herself, quietly planning good third-wheeling situations for Subversion and Nogard. And you should only kill in self defense when you or someone you love is actively being attacked. His dread only increased as she continued to ask questions. Especially the last one. Hypothetical preventative measures?! Beosta, you can't kill someone if you think they're going to do something! "No! Shoe, you're not listening! It's not that clear cut. It's just not." She squished the clay between her fingers. "If they escape and kill again, somebody's going to have to meet the family. You know what they'll have to say? They'll have to say, "I'm sorry your son died because we didn't have the guts to humanely execute a convicted, unstable murderer". Somebody's going to lose sleep over that. Somebody's going to have to carry that weight. Don't you see? It's not a situation where you can just slap on a bandage. It's not 'one-size-fits-all'." She took a deep breath, trying to ignore the tears streaming down her cheeks and the tremor in her voice. "Killing is wrong. But... but... sometimes it's less wrong than not killing." No, no, that wasn't right. "I mean--- it's the last thing you should do! Obviously. It's bad. It's awful. But sometimes you have to, Shoe. Sometimes you have to. Sometimes it's... less wrong."

You could use it to make a Narrator-Ennuller-Luxsprite-Whithergeist-dragon-elf-angel-demon-fairy with eight plotblades and a poorly thought out backstory. More seriously, is Exposition unclaimed? I don’t think Kion would want it, but if my narrator who I will probably make eventually is closer to me, that would be very on-brand. Kion continues to run from the Render; it’s too close now for any spells to help. He leaps a table that the Render simply goes through, shattering into pieces as the table tries to bend like the Render’s body. They are a bit out of the way, but surely someone has noticed.

Isn't it better to spare them rather than doom them?

If I must fight to protect Endings, I will, no matter where I am, and if you care about the Thread, I would expect you to as well!" His eyes narrowed dangerously. "But as long as there isn't a threat, I will abide by your rules." Platypus glared at Subversion. "I still am. I liked Valiant." "Wait. Sequence... Did you say you invited everybody? Even... Him?" Sequence held up one hand top stop him from speaking further if he tried. "I understand, but there will be no violence on my world, no matter what. If Perseus tries something here, he will be punished. Same goes for you. So therefore, there should be no need for conflict. Plus, Perseus already left." Sequence sighed. "A shame, really. I rather like him." Sequence scratched her chin idly. "Depends on who you mean by Him. If you mean the Brave Adventurer, the General, or any of your other little nemeses, then yes. However, they'll abide by my rules. If you mean the Witherlord, also yes. But, any invitations will wither away in any proximity to a creature such as he, so there's nothing to worry about." 1 hour ago, Dragonheir said: The Render keeps coming, ignoring the parts of its “body” that are trapped by the roots. Instead, it pulls material from the ground and keeps coming, though slowed greatly. Kion sees the Render, and goes to run, hoping it’s still slow enough to escape from. Then, he remembers something. “Narration!” he cries, pushing as much magic as he can through the focus provided by that truly powerful word. Things stop, or rather they seem to. The world is words - has been words since before he came there - and Kion reads them, through his own words. Words were power, after all, or at least focuses for it. Words flowed out of him, caused by his thoughts, but they were not the words he needed; not the words that these strange Narrators used. He could perhaps never be a narrator, at least without some strange event, but there were many around. Narration was words, and you could fit many words in a short time. So Kion thought and explained how to keep the Render trapped. He thought of the fact that it was not objects, but rather what was keeping them together. If one object got out, the Render could put more together around it. And worse, any prison that was an object could be made part of its body, although it would have to be bend and shattered into pieces that could be used to move. But perhaps these Narrators could fix that, or at least prevent it for a time. As Kion cast his spell, the Render got stronger, more aware, as it always did. And Kion knew this, with his strange new knowledge of the words that made things. Reaching the point where he needed to, Kion cast his spell “Narration!” and made sure he would stay in the time he was. Then, his awareness snapped back to things instead of words, and he ran. "Stop!" Sequence shouted again, her tone this time laced with power and reverberation. With that, raw molten god-metal flowed from the ground, and proceeded to encase the Render in a solid orb of containment. The metal itself was an iridescent purple color. 1 hour ago, NameIess said: Unintelligible took the cup of tea gratefully.
