Shoe kicked Woe repeatedly to wake him up. It wasn't like he had a better idea to stop the ceiling from crushing them.

Woe woke up with a start, looked at the ceiling, then disappeared. The roof was halfway down, and they were forced to stoop over.

Shoe touched the ceiling. His hand sank into it.

A small glass marble fell out of Shoe's pocket and rolled just beyond his reach.

He tried to mime to Nogard to smash the marble.

Nogard squinted. "Hit the floor? Wait, no, I get it!"

He brought his fist down on the marble, then yelped. The marble bumped against Shoe's shoe as Nogard wrung his hand in pain.

He stomped on the marble with his foot, shattering it.

The hooded assassin screamed in anger. Somehow, two of the pesky adventures had avoided death. But still, a couple remained…

He glanced around the room. "So, is this your place, or...? Well, I suppose you can't answer me. Uh, nod or shake your head, I guess?"

Something growled ominously behind him.

Nogard glanced over Shoe's shoulder. "Is the wall... growling?"

Shoe slowly turned around.

Behind him lay a huge, reptilian beast easily twenty feet tall; thankfully, it seemed to be sleeping. Unfortunately, that meant that it was still twenty feet high while it was sleeping. They did not want to wake that thing up.

Shoe frantically motioned for Nogard to be quiet.
