Nothing but nonsense was a terrible villian, with an even worse acronym.

And after a quick check, Eof eliminated him from suspicion.

This still left far too many on his list.

So he went home to get some sleep.

However when he arrived there it was burned down to the ground.

Horrified, he dashed through the ruins of his home, desperately rummaging through the ruins to find his family.

He found the scattered corpses of only some of his children, his eldest children and Esmerelda were missing from the wreckage.

[NameIess]

Weeping, he buried his children. Damn this prophecy. I should've seen this. Should've prevented this.

Rym walked up behind Eof, horrified.

"What...who would do this?" he asked, quietly enough that he wasn't sure if Eof could hear him.

[NameIess]

Eof's face was hard as he turned around. "I know now who the mysterious villain is. Only one person could have bypassed the protections I placed on my home. Only one person could have done this."

"Who?"

[NameIess]

"Me."

Rym stood there for a second.

"So...there's another you?"

[The Wandering Wizard he/him]

Like the sound of ripping pants, the universe revealed what it really looked like.

It was not very pleasant.

And the villan was removed to be...

Eof, just as everyone had always known. This was an evil Eof that had never met Esmerelda, and thus stayed an unstoppable force of evil and domination.

It was a bit dark that he decided to kill his other self's kids though.

The Quarkbeast ate Eof's weapon.

This made Eof sad.

"So, just for clarification," Rym said, "Somehow a version of yourself has come into existence who never met Esmeralda and still has a master plan and wants to take over existence."

 

Meanwhile, Bookwyrm, Found, and Lightseeker neared the foot of the Northernmost mountain. Bookwyrm checked to see if Nameless's ghost was still with them.

"Yes. It's the only possibility that makes sense. Why else would this prophecy cloud my vision of the future? How else could my protections be bypassed? Who else would be able to manipulate Nameless of all people into going along with his scheme? That guy's almost impossible to work with."
