Exactly. She fell to the Master of Shadows, as did Xino. I am his replacement.

"Then what are you doing here?" No. "How did you get here?

Pheonix looked at her quizzically. What do you mean?

"Astral was banished. I thought we had locked them away, never to come to TLT again."

Narrator Pheonix looked at her, confused. Xino is no longer a Narrator, he said slowly. I was created to fill his place in this thread, and in other places he would have otherwise appeared.

"Then what of Tom?"

"He can exist? Unless he has become his own consciousness..."

Narrator Pheonix looked at her in utter confusion. What?

Star thought she was making complete sense. But then she was always in her own head. "Has Tom separated from you? Characters cannot exist without Narrators."

Narrator Pheonix let out an ah of understanding. I get it now. Characters can't progress without Narration, true, but they still exist. Another Narrator can come along and Narrate them. Besides, I have the same Narrative Energy Xino had.

Narrator Star bowed her head. This was all her fault. Fallen, the Shadows, everything evil in this thread. She knew she could turn back time to bring her husband back. She knew she could have what she wanted. Why, then, did she insist upon torturing herself this way?
