"It can be both," Utility pointed out.

"There's no reason only one of you has to undergo character development."

"Really? Cool."

"That's true." Stone admitted. "But instantly slaughtering the lot of them isn't very heroic."

Spoiler

You know, Fog prefers to do things efficiently. You look up to her, don’t you?

Inkwell, staring at the stupid vault that he couldn’t unlock from the outside, teleport inside of, or cut open, didn’t want to think about efficiency. “Fog is a withergeist now. She cannot be a good example. And since when did I look up to her?”

Spoiler

You didn’t try to kill her.

“That doesn’t mean I look up to her. I’m just not a murderous psychopath.”

Spoiler

If you had let me kill her, she wouldn’t have become a withergeist.

“You didn’t know that. And besides, you were trying to stab sentient mist with a sword. You looked like an idiot.” There was no way he was getting into this vault. He was literally wandering the plot aimlessly, trying to put off the one thing he had to do for as long as possible.

“You know what? Fine. We’ll go ask the Dreamsmith for your stupid body. I hope you’re happy. Tell me, how do I find Omen?” @NameIess

It’s literally fine 9/10 canonically can make mistakes and misinterpret things, it used to blur the line between character and… me, more often anyhow. It’s just trying to annoy Inkwell, and not really taking the time to give him accurate information

Deep below, in the darkest dungeons of the keep, wrapped in chains, was the king. His head was slumped, his expression grim. He looked every bit the defeated monarch. He did not look up as Simon approached.

Indeed, it opened at Omen's current location. Normally, this would have been good. Normally, Omen was in an innocent location. Unfortunately, today was not a normal day for Omen. Indeed, today, he was at the bottom of the ocean.

Water blasted out of the hole in reality with enough force to shear through concrete, aimed directly towards Inkwell's face.

I'd typed up a whole other post on my phone but it got deleted when I tried to post it, so now I'm retyping it on my computer.

You’ve been waiting for an opportunity to exploit that weakness, haven’t you? Perfect

although I could get semantic and say that if the water is targeting Inkwell, who is currently in the Backseat, then it doesn’t do anything. Alas, semantics.
9/10 didn’t even blink before the water threw it hundreds of feet away. Generally, this would kill someone. In this case, all the Splendorlight Inkwell had gained up to this point was completely used up, and 9/10 even managed to extract the ink in the pen (which was formed of Light) as well as some excess traces of Light on the broken fabrial. It lost hold of Futility in the salty blast before the hole sealed behind it. The sword appeared in the sheath, and it looked up at the sky, thoroughly embarrassed.

Spoiler

Inkwell bursts out laughing, and Cleo joins in. I don’t even care that you lost all our Light, that was the best thing I’ve seen since coming to the Thread!

The king opened his eyes. “Back to mock me further?” He asked in a rasping voice. “What more do you want from me?”

“Then indeed, salvation may be found.” Murmured the priest. “I shall now spread the news further, Highest Priest. In the name of Plot, it shall be done.”
