Rebus nodded. "Evil as I may be, I do try to avoid causing physical pain."

-

Rebus frowned - that was perhaps ominous. "It would help, yes. We'll have to replicate it, after all."

-

Rebus followed.

-

That made sense, though it did not bode well for the revelation she'd had.

elinore nodded. "Thats good."

-

rebyl held our a paper, it had a reactor core drawn with rebus handwriting. "You..He was testing it out to see if he could successfully open a portal. Everything was set to work. But someone sabotaged it. Everything was going stable then the portal went to shoot and it started breaking or something, we were evacuating and I was helping one of the other people out. You were right beside me when I saw a burst of orange light and i.. I hear you scream and ... I. Woke up here." She tapped her fingers. "I was on checking the machine. I should have looked better." She stood up abruptly and started pacing the room. Her hair changed back from brown to the silvery Grey. "It doesnt make sense. Who would wanna hurt so many people." She stopped at the desk looking over the notes. "We had gotten small portals big enough for like a ball open just an hour earlier."

-

kyler lead them to an office room. Inside sat a man with long green hair, alot lighter then evaiyas hair. It was in a loose ponytail over a white coat and hat. His eyes were also a bright green. He looked up from a paper and smiled. The smile seemed to offput the air of the room, metaphorically. "Kyler?" He said his dark voice accented. "I thought i told you not to bring these guys back." He walked to kyler and stood behind his shoulder. "Oh well, im sure my darling has a good reason for this yes?" He rested a hand on kylers shoulder.

-

Atlas folded her arms. "It doesnt bode well? No rust! But since ive been in this thread, my brother died, my best friend died, my mom died. My other friend died. And I found out my brkthers getting tortured and is now stuck in a void somewhere with bacon in an endless nothing. So sorry if I have gone a little wonky."

It would seem @NameIess had much to say, and for time to progress, all authors would have to wait for him.

instead, Queen Elizabeth III materialized next to Mischief, also dressed in year old fish. She would glow as well, except she was far too old to glow. 167 years, which was coincidentally as long as it would take @NameIessto hurry up and kill someone.

i am not being subtle enough.

The slide whistle happened to stop at this point, corresponding with the second piano falling from the sky.

"What if I could provide you with opposition?"

Rebus paused, thinking - or, rather, appearing to think for the purposes of the interaction. "Yes. That could work - though once whoever it is stops opposing me I shall likewise repossess your sword."

“Figures,” she said. Then proceeded to explode his face.

This worked surprisingly well, considering Rebus's capabilities - in other words, rather than never exploding at all, Rebus face burst into nanomachines and frankly unpleasant face-chunks, then reformed over his skull.

"I don't believe that will be a problem." Dark Cep smiled slightly. "So. Do we have a deal?"

Since presumably Elinor was leaving to look for Ryna, Rebus disappeared.

-

Rebus's brow furrowed. "Were you opening portals between dimensions? A third world might be involved - and if so, that is almost surely where I ended up."

-

Rebus allowed Evaiya (that is who it was, correct?) to lead the way.

-

"Being 'wonky' makes perfect sense, Atlas. What that results in, though, can vary quite a bit."

Dark Cep's eyes widened slightly. He reached out and took it, wincing ever so slightly. He nodded to Rebus. "Pleasure doing business with you."

I think that's all the TLT energy I have for the night, but for tomorrow where might Rebus's clones be? And which would you rather I pursue first?

With a crackle and a bang, Nameless reappeared from his walk in the snow. It had been a nice walk, if a bit too cold for his wife to stay out for long. Now. He thought. Time to see if I can convince the other Authors to let Malevolence kill somebody. Well, actually it might be time for bed. Tomorrow, perhaps.

She fell to the ground and tried to shed the infected mist, which . . . worked decently. It took a little while though.

They ripped right through an illusion. The drones couldn't turn around before a vortex opened up in the sky and swept them away.

Ribbon descended from a column of water, then absorbed it into herself and formed wings.

She couldn't beat Malevolence in a fair fight, but...

Fog, how are Plotblades in comparison to Mordite?

Malevolence landed on the ground, confident and calm as he regarded Ribbon and Fog. He spun Darkseeker in front of him, ending with it at his side, held in one hand with blade towards the ground.

"Plotting to defeat me?" He called. "Perhaps I should simply flee, do some plotting of my own." Liquid darkness flowed from the axe, coating Malevolence's body to form ever-shifting armor, pulsing with jagged spikes. "Or perhaps I don't need plotting. Perhaps I am strong enough to kill you both, here and now." He took a step forward. "Shall we find out?""W

Malevolence can indeed not hear their mental conversation.

Omen sighed. "I hate doing this." He muttered. Then he began to change.

In a moment, Omen was Rebus. Rebus wearing his crown of darkness, but with a darkness behind his eyes every bit as destructive, every bit as powerful, and quite a bit more dangerous. Then Omen was Meat the Minstrel. Then he was Bacon the Bard. Then he was a mix, Beatcon the Mardstrel, perhaps. He held up his hand, and in it hovered... something. The something looked rather papery.

They were uncertain pages, if they were pages, and could not quite make up their mind as to whether they existed or not. But behind the pages, there was the same darkness that had been behind Rebus Omen's eyes.

Beatcon Omen dissolved into smoke Omen. "Now do you understand? Bringing Meat to Rebus could spell doom to this Thread."

This made very much sense, for he was indeed himself. This was a problem, of course - making sense was not nonsense, which would prevent him from buying particular types of bread. This would, in turn, interfere with the music.

After a few moments of frying, they began to melt, before solidifying in a walking suit of armor. It did not burn, merely change forms.

Mischief saw the shape changing and wanted in. She became a sea slug and began hopping around on a pogo stick, leaving tiny holes all over the place

Mischief really doesn’t comprehend or care for the thread. She’s in it for the here and the now, not really understanding ramifications.

And tbh I didn’t understand what you were trying to say until you said it  outright

The symbolism is a bit beyond me :P

“Not sure I stand a chance,” Inkwell responded, bushing off the gesture but snatching the replica of the Arcadian Pen. “I escaped Rebus only last time because his author disappeared. He won’t be vulnerable to the tricks I used, either. And I have no idea what Malevolence is capable of. Then again, I don’t have to contribute directly.”
