Power flooded into Falvan. He stumbled backwards but kept his grip on the handle of his weapon. Soon it was done. Natration. Power.

Finally.

Witha twist and a wrench, he pulled his blade from The once author. Falvan loomed over him. “Justice is always the punishment for those who give their life to its opposite. Now, you die.”

Flavian swept his weapon into him again.

The Once-Author flinched as he died. It felt strange. Cold.

He kept his hold on the Authorblade as his body collapsed behind him.

He still felt pain. Deep, agonizing pain. He stepped forward, eyes on Ryss.

"I am The Once-Author. I was cast down, and I survived. I have felt pain, more pain than many could bear. I am Elan. I experienced this world, helped its people, and was murdered in cold blood. And now I have returned to reclaim my place. made you, was your author, you have been and will forever be mine."

The Once-Author stabbed Ryss in the chest, and the Authorblade worked. Ryss screamed, his body collapsing in on itself, power exploding outwards.

The world, both ethereal and physical, was ripped apart, vaporized.

The Once-Author felt his spirit fading. He took one last look around. Goodbye. He thought to whoever listened.

And then he was gone.

Narration flooded the world, seeping into it, and it reformed. Everyone stood where they were, as they were. No one had seen what had happened, none would know of it or remember it.

The only variation:

The Once-Author's body was gone.

Falvan twisted, throwing a powerful gust  of air spinning at Nogard. Then, summon power from within himself, stabbed The fallen author with his twisted metal weapon.

Power, bright and fast, visibly ran through the metal, pouring into the once author. It poured deep into him. Then…started to reverse.

@Ancient Elantrian if you catch my drift?

"No!" cried Nogard.

istas thread is just her soul. When her soul neared yours, she turned into a temporary Servant of Onyx? I dunno the word choice. (All it is meaning is that she can manipulate his soul. Only slightly, but if he tried that again, and he got farther, the effects might be more drastic)

Ista hesitated.”I don’t know. When he drew my soul to his, I gained a certain capacity to manipulate it, but only slightly. Unimportant things like position.”

"You are trying to touch his soul?" The inspector seemed disturbed. "Be very careful, Ista- if your soul is touching his, then his is touching yours."

So she's trying to connect to Onyx?

Ista launched herself to Tull, exploding the zombies away from Tull, and pulling him out. She launched them back to the platform.

Orange light played around the zombies. Several began to make powerful leaps up to the platform.

Not to Onyx no.

Ista hesitated. “I know of these dangers. Why do you think I fear Madness so?”

The reason I say Servant of Onyx is because she is called a Servant of Intellect, the creator of Ice, allowing her to manipulate it (when her Thread is tethered to Intellect, it is very close to ice, allowing her soul to pull on it). But this is sorta backwards anyways.

Ista reconstructed the dome, blocking them out.
right now, the Destroyer’s very presence is healing her.

“Ahhhh!” Falvan cried, spinning his blade free of the above authors body.  It faded into the air quickly. But it left a noticeable resididue. A faint haze floated into Falvan’s chest. Then, in a moment, the rush of power ended.

It was done.

Falvan had ascended.

No more living a shadow. No more weakness. Falvan felt his power inside of him. Power and manipulation of the very nature of reality. Narration. He was invincible. Immortal. He turned to Nogard, smiling.

“You stand no chance against me. I have no quarrel with you, though if our insist on being a pestilence, I will. Choose wisely. I suggest you leave and forget about those you have come to know. Many of them will not last long.”

Falvan knew he would have to kill Arranis. But…he had kill Elab already. He was too deep to turn back. It was time to plan. Plot. Narrate. He would return.

Falvan disappeared.

Falvan needs a good narrator name…I may rename him…hmm…

Thanks Elan!

In all seriousness, what kind of name are you looking for? Is there a certain feeling you're looking for or smth?

Well like, Onyx took his narration and if he ever gets it back it’d be pretty triumphant.

so like, a feeling of one who reclaimed something that has been stolen from them.

I know you aren’t talking to me. And?

Yeah. Not always, but sometimes/often narrator names have a meaning, or are tied to the character.

I may do Wist. It had many layers of meaning: It is close to Wit so I like that but it also can meaning archiacly to know. But best it is Wistful. I think that matches Falvan.

But ideas are awesome. Yes ideas.

"No!" cried Nogard, swinging his spear uselessly through the space where Falvan was mere moments before.

He fell to his knees. What were they going to do now?

Is Arranis still there? Or Desolation?

Ista strained, and the destroyer slowed down, as if he was moving in molasses. Ista frowned, then twisted the Thread, pulling away life-force.
this is by no means an absolute attack here. The “life-force” at most opens shallow cuts, and it, if nothing else, will drop a single bead of blood.

"He will only get stronger," warned the inspector. "Anger gives him power."

Blood drained away, but it didn't seem to slow the destroyer at all- the cuts were filled with red light before they had even fully opened.

Green light began to seep into the Thread, holding it fast. Green crystals also began to grow around Ista's hands and feet, anchoring them in place.

Orange light played around the destroyer's limbs as he dropped from faster-than-blinking to a paltry quick. His blade, which was outlined faintly in gold, struck out at Ista's heart.

"you are strong," whispered the remnant, "but only with borrowed power."

Arranis watches almost helpless at the sight of the Once Author being killed. Something had held him back, kept him from doing anything. No more, he swears to himself. I will not watch other people I care about being killed anymore. Reaching through his own bond, to the person, or thing that sat at the end. No MMOORREE. He mentally roars, and breaks the bond, plugging the loose end back into him, and something happens, a strange feeling floods through him. Is this what it feels like to be in control of oneself. He looks at where the body had been, before a portal appears in a thought. I need to wait for a chance to get rid of Falvan he says to himself sadly
