Shoe breathed a sigh of relief and took the pendant, stuffing both it and his shaking hands into his pockets.

Yes! I find the issues fascinating. Are you?

I'm actually writing the Aff. rn, so that's perfect 😋

Pretty standard stuff, I haven't gotten terribly far, but:

Potential involvement in a war, detriment to Chinese-US relations (manufacturing/trade and all that), and actually there's this really cool thing I found about how no matter if the US military is in Taiwan or not, we still provide weapons to the people of Taiwan under some act* I can't remember the name of.

Edit: *It's called the Taiwan Relations Act.

I'm writing neg. we've spent like two class periods trying to find something for aff beyond "war with China," cause that just loses on probability or lack of trade with China (also probably doesn't do great on probability because our countries are so intertwined neither of us is really going to stop trade with the other).

I found an evil definition and I might write two neg cases. One with a normal definition, pretty standard case, the other with my evil definition and fully focus on that. If I get that definition acknowledged, I would just win. Could be fun

first, do you live in Utah? Is there a chance I might face you? like I discovered Elan IRL at a tournament my school hosts. and I haven't gotten cards yet, but I'm running C1: Economic Imports and C2: National Security with SPA: Military Infrastructure and SPB: Indo-Pacific Influence.

Yeah, I'm in Utah!

And you did? That's awesome!

WOW. That was a lot... you should put these on a separate thread, that would help considerably with the effort to compile this into a book.

Ista stared at him. "What are you doing, Erif?"

"Does nobody care that my homeland is trapped in time?" yelled Erif.

The inspector sighed, eye-crystals dimming. "I... am sorry, Erif. I have tried. I do not think there is a way to get them back. Not within my power."

As you [think really hard], the reflection begins to soften, the harsh edges fading. A warm light envelops you, and the figure nods in understanding, whispering: ‘You are more than your fears. Embrace your journey.’ With that, the shadow dissipates into shimmering particles, leaving behind a sense of peace.

"You have passed."

A pendant starts to descend from a hole in the ceiling, ending up floating in front of Shoe.

sorry I've been out. I told you to continue without me...

"Fancy," admired Bacon.

A beam of moonlight slams down before everyone. Quagmire and Natsu walk into it and glitter away.

Bacon followed after. "Does this mean you're going to help us now?"

The thing about TLT adaptations that nobody talks about is just how much TLT stuff there is that *isn't* on TLT.

For instance, to fully appreciate most of the Tom Joebob plots you sort of have to understand Fallen lore, which has undergone more evolution than the domestic chicken, most of which was discussed entirely in private.

Bottom line is that you'd probably just have to skip that part :P Same goes for a lot of the early plot stuff, really.

I mean, I would probably just start either with this plot, the Onyx and Plotblade plot, or the Feanor plot. probably not that one because it never got finished.

Hey, the nice thing about adapting a plot that never got finished is that you can finish it if you want to.

Nowhere. A place on the edge of existience. A suitable prison. At least, suitable for the events that would take place.

Falvan stood in the middle of a circle. In the same circle were Arranis and the Once-Author.

"My friends, today you will deliver to me what I have always been destined to have. Power."

Falvan took a step closer. He was holding his strange twisted metal weapon in one hand. It had been crafted by the Dreamsmith. A creator of legendary skill. The weapon's power was of a strange but very unique nature. It was tied directly to Falvan. In his other hand, Falvan held a sheathed sword. It was an ancient relic, and recently held the fiend, practically immortal and destruction bent being of Desolation. It's name was Demolition.

"Today, you die."

Falvan stepped out of the circle. The adege of it immidiatly began to glow blue. Falvan out Demolition on his side and took out a strange device. It was similar to a long, silver knife with a green tint that vibrated off the surface as it moved.

"Today, I am reborn."

@Scars of Hathsin

@Ancient Elantrian

Arranis glances at Falvan, What has happened to you my friend. He glances at the circle, looks rather ominous, probably need to get out of here. Maybe permanently, I have been here for a long time. He takes a breath. Lets see what happens though.

Shoe walked over to the beam of light, feeling awkward and avoiding eye contact with everyone else.

Y'know, some of that stuff Shoe said might merit some questions . . .

*hint hint beosta might've caught it hint hint*

I’m not quite sure what part you mean but

You said people have left you.

Just any. Nothing in particular. 😋

Shoe sighed. He'd forgotten that Beosta could talk in his head now.

Well, there's my family, he said to her, though it obviously wasn't . . . their choice at the time. Mostly it's just . . . I've been traveling for a long time. I've known a lot of people; made a lot of good friends. But I can never seem to keep them around. For assorted reasons. More recently I've been adventuring with Nogard, who I miss a lot. And now I'm with you and Bacon and Yrank and everyone else, but I've already . . . gone on adventures with so many other people. It always ends the same. He sighed. I-I don't know. At the end of the day, I guess I'm just tired of ending up alone again.

Fair. People kinda suck sometimes, huh?

If it means anything, I’ll try my best not to abandon you.

Glass, if you told me when I first joined that Shoe would communicate something like this, I would not have believed you.

But this here is marvellous (also down with big bad Ciara, we need Shoe to be happy!)

She smiled back, but some queasy feeling settled into her stomach.

She couldn’t promise that. Worse, she didn’t deserve to promise that. She made herself look him in the face anyway, look into his eyes and confront the inevitable disappointment deep within those green depths.

Alright, "green depths" made me laugh just a little bit :D

Shoe caught something in her expression. It almost looked like she was sad about something, but he didn't catch it in time. So he smiled back and said, Seriously, thanks.

She blinked herself out of the stare. You're welcome. I mean it. I will do my best.

After a pause, she added, can I ask something else?
