"I'm afraid not. He can visit the Dreamsmith and observe the forging of your weapon, but he cannot accompany you while you take your test."

Sequence frowned, but nodded. “Alright then, that’s okay I suppose.” She turned to Unintelligible. “Wish me luck! Oh, and thanks for telling me about the Dreamsmith, I think whatever they make for me is going to be really cool.” Sequence said with a smile.

The Dreamsmith nodded slowly. "Yes. I can make a weapon from your soul." He smiled. "Out of curiosity, did you bring me any... unusual materials?"

Everyone paused for a moment, thinking. “… I suppose… yes, yes I believe so.” They held out their hand and summoned an ornamented copper orb about the size of a baseball. On two of its sides, a a circle of glass revealed a view to the interior, which was empty at the moment. Everyone took a deep breath, closed their eyes, and poured a little bit of their power into it. A swirling mess of black mist and faint flickers of red lightning slowly accumulated in the orb. Everyone offered the orb to the Dreamsmith. “I think this may be of use.”

Sorry for the inactivity. I've had a busy week.

Subversion smiled, forming a second Narrationsphere around Platypus without dismissing the first one. "Something I learned from Thaidakar: It's possible to split your Narrationblade."

A door appeared beside Omen. "Unintelligible can go no further. If you wish to see the Dreamsmith, you must pass the trial alone."

The Dreamsmith looked at Everyone closely. "Are you sure? Making such a blade will not be easy with my methods."

Unintelligible felt someone calling his name, so he replied. "I'm near the Dreamsmith! Sequence wanted to visit him."

Platypus looked at her, form distorted from the sphere he was in. "Prismite... It isn't indestructible." He thrust Vengeance up, and there was  a blinding flash as the Narrationblade's glow met Vengeance's anti-glow. When the after-image faded, Platypus stood next to a sphere of Prismite with a small crack in the top, Vengeance in hand, glow slightly reduced. "After this duel, I want to experiment with this. It could be interesting."

Rirrom, Narrator of Times, stood alone in Urithiru, toiling away at his hours remaining.

What did it mean to be a narrator? What did it mean to have a plot-blade?

His Plotblade, Plot Development glowed brightly in response to this, and he could feel the effects of his first plotblade, Side Character in his mind.

There was a place for him, but he was not relevant.

but he would be soon.

... FYI, Hacob still has Plot Development in the form of Plot Significance.

But it was ultimately bonded to Rirrom anyways, so he could resummon it when needed.

Wasn’t Plot Significance a version of Side Character? Maybe my memory’s wrong, but I thought it was.

“I guess splitting it does decrease the durability, huh?” Subversion collapsed to the ground, both pieces of her Narrationblade disappearing. “Well, I’ll admit it. I’m totally exhausted. I could keep fighting, but I don’t think I could win.” She lay back on the ground, reaching a hand into a pocket she knew would be empty. “And since it looks like there are Darkness-related things to deal with, I’ll won’t draw this…” She blinked, pulling a dull metal sphere from her pocket. “Is this some kind of joke? I haven’t seen this thing since I fought Desolation! Why did it just reappear now?”

i'm not sure :P It could be either.

"So... Does that mean you yield and I can go finish preparing to beat Darkness?"

No, it was plot development, somewhere back at page 2575 or so

Subversion shook her head, staring at the sphere. "No. I was going to do that, but now I have this again I think my odds have improved. Ready to see what an Author's failsafe looks like?"

"Next to nothing. Mostly just that you hide in your workshop behind that 'Omen' fellow and make unique and powerful weapons." Everyone frowned. "Why do you ask?"

"Thanks! I'll see you soon." Sequenced turned back to Omen. "Alright Omen! I'm ready for my test."

"No reason, no reason. Just... curious." The Dreamsmith took a deep breath, standing up. "I think it's about time I begin. You're sure about the kind of weapon you want?"

Sounds like the dreamsmith is a cool guy, have you been to see him Falvan? @ΨιτιsτηεΒέsτ Arranis asks

“Yes I got this.” Flavin held p a mass of thin twisted metal. He held it carefully and respectfully.
