This turned out to be a ploy by the squirrels to get Hoid for first-degree animalslaughter.

But Hoid had gathered more acorns.

Unfortunately, one of the squirrels secretly had a nut allergy.

The other squirrels fired him from his job.

Hoid was also charged for second-degree animal slaughter.

But he escaped before he could be arrested.

The Eizards arrested him on trespassing and eating their young.

The ninjas rescued Hoid, only to deliver him back to the squirrels.

The squirrels and ninjas formed an alliance.

They decided to join with the Eizards.

That alliance included Hoid being imprisoned forever.

This was so they could learn to insult like him,but...

It was also so they could get a Dawnshard.

It was an amazingly brilliant, yet terrible plan.

Unfortunately, Hoid escaped again by damaging their egos so severely that they began crusading across the universe in a maniac rage trying to restore it.

And it somehow failed. They didn't get a Dawnshard.

 

They got seventeen.

This gave them power to delve behind the fourth floor. And what a sight it was.

It hadn't been cleaned since... ever.

It was disgusting.

Yet, fascinating.

So they tried to trade it for a dawnshard.

[The Bookwyrm he/him]

But since eighteen wasn't a cool enough number, no one would give them one.

Instead, they got 25 more Dawnshards.
