X's avatar blinked, waking up from a momentary space-out.

"She's over there," he said, gesturing towards the wood. "But she'll be further soon."

Song looked in the direction X's avatar pointed and started running. "Come on!" she yelled. "We have to catch her!"

Melody was gasping by the time I stopped for another break. "Can we -- please -- slow down?" she asked, and collapsed to the ground next to a tree.

"No. We have to get there soon." I replied.

"Get where?" Melody's curiosity was piqued.

"Where we're going. Now get up, we're almost there." I offered Melody a hand, which she declined, standing up herself. "Do I need to carry you again?"

"No, that's not necessary," Melody said. She was trying to think of a way to escape, but she couldn't if she was being carried.

They started running again.

Isn't Y flying with her storm abilities, chasing I and Melody?

Schrodinger started scanning the ground for life forms. He quickly realized a forest contains a lot of life forms, so he set his scanner to heat signatures.

"We need some kind of boost," panted X's avatar. "Come on, Narrators!"

Nameless easily caught up to X's avatar. "So... why are you running so slow?"

"Melody has been kidnapped by I, an evil person with illusion powers and X's powers, and I will exchange Melody for Y, a really dangerous fighter who hasn't done too much of note besides stabbing Nameless in the back,'s powers." Nameless took a breath. "I wants the powers in order to leave TLT, although I have no idea why that much power is necessary. Y also wants to leave, and obviously doesn't want her powers stolen, so we are chasing after her in an attempt to convince her to give up her powers."

"Stop talking and run faster! We have to catch her or we won't be able to get Melody back!" Song is sprinting now, and she can see Y.

Melody slowed and checked that I wasn't looking at her, then turned and ran off to the right. I spun around. "What do you think you're doing?" She began to chase Melody through the forest.

Melody ran, gasping, through the trees. She glanced back and saw I chasing her, and sprinted faster.

I ran after Melody, branches whipping against her face and torso.

Melody looked at I and then disaster struck. She tripped on a tree root and fell to the ground. She scrabbled to her feet, but it was too late. I's hand closed on her shoulder and shoved her back to the ground.

"I told you you would regret it if you tried to run away." I tossed Melody over her shoulder and walked back to the path. She re-tied Melody's bonds and started running again. "You'll regret that when we get there."

Hey, can we catch Y? @xinoehp512

Melody was tossed on the ground and she heard a door close. "Are we there?"

I sighed. "Yes, we're here. Now you're going to regret running away."

What should she do to her? I'm having a hard time figuring it out because she needs Melody but she still has to make her "regret it".

Nameless kept up with Song easily.

Sure.

X's avatar came to a screeching halt. "She went in there," he panted, pointing at the door.

Agonizing illusions.

Wait, how did she find I? I went to a lot of trouble to not be found

Is that Nameless kept up with Song easily? Or something else?

Thanks for getting rid of C! :)

So Y is past the door. I was confused because I went through a door and Y was following I. No, I and Melody are much farther away with illusions hiding their tracks. Good idea, I'll use it.

Song looked over. "Hi, Nameless! You're much faster than I am. Shall we go through the door?" She opens the door and sees Y inside. "Nowhere to run, Y. You're coming with us."

Melody's blindfold was torn off and she looked around the room. It was small, with dirt walls and roots dangling from the ceiling. I sat down against the wall. "Now you will regret trying to run away."

Melody felt the most intense pain she had ever felt and she writhed on the ground. The pain stopped and she relaxed, but it was too soon. It happened again and again, until she couldn't breathe from the memory of the pain. Gradually, she caught her breath and her vision cleared, and she saw I glaring at her from across the room. "Don't do it again," she said, and Melody nodded, her mind bereft of words.

Later, she realized that it must be some aspect of I's power, that she could create painful illusions without causing permanent damage. I left a couple hours in and Melody sat, mentally and physically exhausted, against the wall.

Goodnight, I have to wake up early for my dad so he's making me go to bed. I can't post anywhere else, if you see anyone asking about me, go ahead and tell them. I likely won't be on until tomorrow night.

"Wait!" says X. "We've come to bargain."

"Bargain?" said Y incredulously. "What could you have to offer me?"

"A way out," said X, looking at Song nervously. "If you help us recover Melody and restore my power... I'll help you leave. I promise."

Ooh, nice quote. "Dormammu, I've come to bargain."

"We know you want to get out of here, so if you give X your powers, we'll make sure I takes you with her when she leaves. Do we have a deal?"

When Melody woke up, I was sitting across from her. Melody's muscles tightened, sure that she was going to feel those agonizing illusions any moment, but I didn't move and they gradually relaxed. "Wh-why are you looking at me?"

"I'm just wondering what those people see in you, to work so hard for someone so unimportant."

Melody looked down. "I don't know. Sometimes I feel unimportant and I wonder the same thing. Why would they want me as a friend? I'm rather ungrateful, and people  have told me I'm annoyingly cheerful. But then I remember all of the times that I've helped them and all of the good times we've had, and I believe that they're worth it. I'm worth it. And that's what my friends see in me, is that potential and worthiness. I try to see that in myself, and that's why we need friends, to provide another perspective. Do you have any friends?"

"I thought I did, but they all betrayed me. I don't know that I could even trust a friend anymore."

Melody was silent for a little while. "If you can trust me, I'll be your friend."

I snorted and turned away. "That's enough of that. It's time to check to see if your 'friends' are doing what they're supposed to. Don't try anything while I'm gone or else."

Melody nodded and looked down. It wasn't like she could do much with her hands and feet tied.

I left and Melody wondered where her friends were and what they were doing.
