And then the samurais struck.  Melody gasped and leapt back, but they avoided her because she had been polite to them.

Suddenly, the ostrich woke up.

Vapid smiled and sat up.

Tears of joy were in her eyes.

One of the ninjas snuck up behind her and whacked her on the head, quickly dissipating those tears of joy. It tied her up, tossed her in the corner, and went to do the same to someone else.
