Dust Cover On, Or Off?

  1. 1. Do you read your Sanderson books with the dust cover on, or off?

I voted off. Just for the sole reason that I don't accidentally damage/rip the dust jacket putting it in my backpack or something.

Most of my reading is at home, and I leave the cover on.  If I travel somewhere then I sometimes decide to remove it

You're truthless though, how can I trust you? <_<

Of course you can. The one who holds my stone told me I have to eat pies today. Oh and also that I should always tell the truth.

I generally check them out at the library, and then buy the leatherbound, so this wasn't a question I had to consider. Until recently. A friend gave me a copy of tBoM, and I began to read it with the dust cover on. The problem was, everybody who saw them got entirely the wrong idea about the books. I generally love Sanderson artwork, but these dust jackets do look a bit odd. So now I always read them with it off.

I rarely read the physical copy (though I always buy them). I use Kindle for reading and physical copy for my beautiful, beautiful bookshelves.

Off, but then I also have homemade duct tape dustcovers that protect them from scuffs and spills that I put on instead.

I mostly have paperbacks on Sanderson's books but I tend to read hardcovers with the jacket on unless it's going to get damaged or I hate the cover.

I put the Dust Jacket in a Brodart protector when I get it and usually read it on but if I travel with the book I leave the DJ off

I chose "off" because I prefer paperbacks or Kindle editions to actually read. For me, hardcovers stay on the shelf and look pretty. :P

Always off. Hard to rip or crease it that way. I do prefer hardcovers above other options. It feels more like I'm a wizard digging through some ancient tome or something. More immersive somehow, but only if they are giant door stoppers do I get that feeling.

I've always kept them on, and used the flaps as bookmarks. But this thread is making me reconsider.

Same.
