RippleGylf she/her Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Yep, I figured I had lost the game the turn before. Ah well. It was still an absolute blast!
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Wow, that was a fascinating game! I achieved my win-con, and Len was actually telling the truth! Starsight...? Corrupted form of Baleflight? Ripple, could you explain? And to everyone, this was lots and lots of fun! Thank you for playing!
Steeldancer he/him Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Also I can blame elith for me dying. Although I don't know who actually killed me. Whoever you are... urgh.

Thank you for playing! Nope, I was truthful in saying that I wasn't Balelight. It was more of a Prof situation where at the beginning of the game, I could gift my powers to other players, like Elithanthile that first round. This reduced my corruption points. I gained corruption points when using my own ability, which was a roleblock that could double as a kill, with the cost of more corruption points. After I killed Crimsn thinking, "Ah, this must be the counterpoint to my own role," since she also had the extra life and was supposed to track down a target to kill, I soon became entirely corrupt and my win con switched from survive to kill any and all threats to my rule over the city. The switch of win condition triggered by a cycle of inactivity (I could technically have reduced my corruption points, but I forgot to send in actions one round) was a really cool design choice on Seonid's part, and led me to be a lot more active in the game. I've never been wonderful at keeping up with everything in SE, but the win con switch kept me playing. The sad thing is, if I remained uncorrupted, I would have won. C'est la vie. The moment where I realized that I was the SK everyone was talking about was also fantastic. Thank you Seonid for an excellent game!
Elenion he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I've got a few game thoughts: 1. I'm amazed that I made it out alive. I started the game with no info, no items, and the objective of killing over 1/3 of the living players. Luckily I got mostly overlooked, so my win had a lot of luck. 2. Drake, I know I told everyone that I lynched you based on a plot, but I actually did it by accident after retracting the wrong vote. Sorry about that. But I enjoyed the battle of wits while it lasted. 3. Ripple, was it you who kept Roleblocking me? 4. As a fun fact, the entire game I never performed a successful action. 5. Yes, I was actually a Loyal Citizen!

Yes, I was actually a Loyal Citizen! I roleblocked you once, out of fear that you were going to kill me the cycle before last. Other than that, I mostly just used my power to kill people. You did die, technically. My last act of the game. You still won though, so congrats for that! EDIT: I was super tempted just to reveal my role and explain why I would make a better ruler than Balelight, but then I was informed that the lynch counted as a threat against my rule of the city. It would have been absolutely hilarious though. XD Edited September 5, 2017 by RippleGylf

Yes, I was actually a Loyal Citizen! Just fyi, you started the game with the win con of killing 4/26 players (I missed that you included the epic cabal in your question - you were aligned with them). Over the course of the game, 2 more were added to that list. Fun fact, there were no serial killers to start with. All of them were created over the course of the game.
Ecthelion III he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I'm just sad I never got to use my gun 1

Majestic he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 That was an awesome game! Btw, I had two powers: the one I used was retracting 2 lynch votes from me. I had another one too that the GM will probably explain.
Eternum he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) I genuinely don't know how the entire Cabal got killed one by one. Pissed me off, that's for sure. How did that even happen? But still, good game. I find it funny that neither "major" faction got their wincon... Alv, were you our informant? Or was it you, Len? EDIT: Also, I'm kind of surprised. Why did Rebecca not revive anyone? Had plenty o' chances. As a sidenote, when Seonid told me "If you don't get revived I'll give you a spec doc link" I was genuinely stunned. A game with revival could be a GMs nightmare Edited September 5, 2017 by Eternum
Alvron Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 3 minutes ago, Eternum said: Alv, were you our informant? I was your Informant but I only sold out PK. I have no idea how the others were killed.
Eternum he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 How did you figure out they were PK anyway? Because PK told us you'd guessed their identity.
Sparkrunner he/him Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Man, I messed up. When I saw "Malcontent" I thought - Oh, like LG:34, I bet there are the reckoners, the epics, some neutrals, and a bunch of loyal citizens or malcontents like me who are supposed to throw our lot in with the reckoners on a vote. Dang.
RippleGylf she/her Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I, er, think I was the one to kill PK. Yep, that was me, just your friendly neighborhood serial killer. I didn't realize PK was Cabal at all.
Alvron Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 15 hours ago, Eternum said: How did you figure out they were PK anyway? Because PK told us you'd guessed their identity. Simple. I guessed. I knew Lemon was lying about the number of Epics in the group and given the number of dead Epics by that stage of the game, PK being my new contact was fairly obvious. He did after all just tell me that he was an Epic.

That makes my win con sound more manageable. Nah I lied about that. Well, I didn't actually lie, per se. I may have mentioned that I made an effort not to tell a straight lie in this game. But I gave you the wrong idea, shall we say? The vote retraction business was unfortunate, but ah well. It was very fun working with Alvron in our doc. Some of those neutral roles were a blast. Although, I PMed Flash as early as I could, and he never responded I tried to get Alv and Mark to not kill each other, but it was difficult, since I had reasons not to want to reveal one to the other. Plus I could only spend so much time trying to find a solution to this. It was interesting with this many neutrals. In some sense, I felt a little cornered, because, while I could appeal to everybody as much as I wanted, most of them simply didn't care if I was a reckoner or not. And wouldn't bother risking it by taking a side. But as I said before, some of those neutral roles were also fantastically fun, so. There's definitely that. Plus, our enemies no doubt had the same problem. I just didn't have the presence of mind to accuse somebody before I myself was accused... I was more focused on directing our faction kill. That was, perhaps, a mistake. Although I do feel slightly accomplished in that a few cycles ago, I guessed the 3 remaining cabal members and 2/3 of my guesses were accurate. In any case, it's been a fun game. Well done, Seonid. I'm sure this was a hectic game to GM but I think it came off well. Well played, to all y'alls. Also to my fellow reckoners, it's been an honor. Y'alls were good team mates. Edited September 5, 2017 by Drake Marshall
Ecthelion III he/him Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I took out Eternum because he made the mistake of voting on my beloved Frozen Mint.
Elenion he/him Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 @Drake MarshallIt wasn't you who gave me the wrong idea: I had sent Senid a PM asking who I needed to kill, and he misread it and answered that I needed to eliminate the Cabal.
Steeldancer he/him Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Sorry about not responding I was camping in canada. And then I DIED before I could respond.
BrightnessRadiant she/her Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 This game was a blast! Thanks Seonid for keeping us in the dark and causing a ton of rp with all the neutrals haha. XD I was more disappointed that I couldn't rp any more when I died than I was about the fact that I didn't meet my win con. Good game to everyone who won! And thanks everyone for being so active in rp! I protected Elithanathile the first cycle and then Ecthelion every cycle after that because I was set on keeping the role play alive haha.....also I wanted Scotty to die protecting Robin in the writeup but alas I was role blocked, robbed, and murdered all in the same cycle. xD This really was a terrifying city wasn't it. Haha

Seonid he/him Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 Alright, so here is the comprehensive list of Epic Powers, as promised: Lavalake: Lava Summoning - Create a lake of lava in between your target and incoming attacks. Protection Liquid Transmutation - If you make the faction kill, you can incinerate the body. Role, alignment, and items on the target are not revealed. Stormwarden: Chain Lightning - If you make the faction kill, all players that targeted the same person are roleblocked next cycle. Windform - You are immune to the lynch Hypnotist: Mind Invasion - Target a player to learn their role and alignment Suggestion - Change a target's vote to another player Tachyon: Super Speed - If you make the faction kill, you cannot be roleblocked unless the blocker uses your weakness. Temporal Reversal - Target a player. All actions they take fail, and all actions targeting them fail. Starsight: Astral Form - You may use 2 actions per cycle, and survive the first attack against you. Starfire - Roleblock another player. If you use Starfire twice on the same player during one turn, kill them instead. Gifted power (Starfire) - Target another player. If they target you, they are roleblocked Hydroplane: Liquid Surfboard - Reduce the number of votes on you by 2 Mirage - a random action targeting you is redirected to another player of your choice. All of these powers took an action to use. Epics could also be targeted by the Black Market Arms Dealer to create Motivator Tech items. Here are the items, listed by Epic: Nighthound: Regenerative Jacket (Passive: Block the first attack against you) Hydroplane: Image Caster (redirect a random action from you to another player) Starsight: Astral Projector (All actions targeted at you fail) Lavalake: Lava Gun (The target you attack is also roleblocked) Stormwarden: Lightning Projector (Your attack can target 2 players) Hypnotist: Emotional Soother (Redirect a vote) Tachyon: Speed Bracers (Passive: You may take 2 actions per cycle)
Seonid he/him Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 (edited) Here is the comprehensive list of non-epic roles and their items: Note: A Concealed item could not be stolen or traded away and wasn't supposed to be revealed in the writeup (although I might have slipped somewhere) Reckoner Sniper: Had a Concealed Force Jacket (Passive, survive the first attack against you) and a Sniper Rifle (If you make the faction kill, you can't be seen by watchers) Reckoner Archivist: Had a Concealed Harmsway (target a player to protect them) and a Concealed Data Uplink (target a player; if they are an Epic, roleblock them using their weakness) Reckoner Demolitions Expert: Had a Demolition Charge (1-shot; if you make the faction kill, it bypasses protection) and a Concealed Tensor (target a player; if they are not an Epic, roleblock them) Reckoner Coordinator: Had a Mobile (create a PM with another player) and a Fake ID Chip (if you are scanned, you show up as a Loyal Citizen) There were 2 Lovers: One of them had a Mobile, a Video Recording Chip (target a player to learn what they did this cycle), and Handcuffs (1-shot roleblock) The other had a Motion Sensor (the first action targeted at you this cycle fails), a Surveillance Camera (target a player to learn who targeted them this cycle), and a Concealed Pistol (1-shot; announce in thread to immediately attack another player) After Mint was lynched, Ecth gained a Rusty Knife (attack another player) The Penitent Murderer had no items, but could target a player. If they were attacked, the murderer would die instead of the target. The Graverobber had no items, but could target a dead player to steal an item from their corpse. The Thief had no items, but could target a living player to steal an item from them. The Smuggler started with a Concealed Pistol, a Bulletproof Vest (passive; survive the first attack against you), Shortwave Radio (send an anonymous message to be posted in the writeup; doesn't count as an action), a Mobile, a Surveillance Camera, a Fake ID Chip 3xPerformance Enhancing Drugs (1-shot; use to gain +2 actions this cycle), and 3xSedatives (1-shot; block another players vote) They could target a player to trade one of their items for one of their target's. The Bounty Hunter had an Assault Rifle (attack a player), a Bulletproof Vest, and a DNA Scanner (target a player to learn if they are an Epic, bypassing any scan immunity) The Detective had a Forensic Kit (target a player to learn if they are a criminal - the Penitent Murderer, the Smuggler, the Thief, and the Graverobber were criminals), an Identity Scanner (target a player to scan their role), and 2xConcealed Handcuffs. If they roleblocked a criminal with their Handcuffs, they confiscated a random item and won the game. The Informant had an Identity Scanner, a Fake ID Chip, and a Mobile. They started with a doc with each faction. The Black Market Arms Dealer had a Concealed DNA Analyzer and 2xPerformance Enhancing Drugs. If they targeted an Epic with the DNA Analyzer, they picked up enough DNA to create a Motivator, which they could then use to create a Motivator Item, as listed in the above post. The Doctor had a First Aid Kit (protect another player) and a Defibrillator (1-shot; announce your action in-thread to immediately bring one player that died last cycle back from the game. Could only be used in the first 24 hours of the cycle) The Survivalist had a Motion Sensor, a Bulletproof Vest, and an Autoturret (all players who target you this cycle are attacked) The Vengeful Neighbor had no items. The Nosy Neighbor had a Mobile, a Video Recording Chip, and a Surveillance Camera Edited September 8, 2017 by Seonid
