Azul he/him Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Wasn't this a conversation between Loki and Odin? .. what wait.. where am I ?... (gibbers and goes a bit more insane from the glimpses..) 4
lummi he/him Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I don't think syl something like that. 1
Maresia he/him Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Its probably Syl and Kal talking. But its too easy that way!! Is there a slight chance that is Adolin talking with navani? Maybe Renarin think he (adolin) is a god (of duels) or maybe Elkohkar, or maybe another duelist. Edited February 17, 2014 by Maresia
Elbereth she/her Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Remember that it's Adolin who is the duelist. Edited February 16, 2014 by Limelleth

Duskshard he/him Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Ah! I've got it. It's Wyndle talking to Lift, she asked the Nightwatcher to make her into the God of Awesomeness! 4
ShadowsFell he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Here is the next one! "He thinks you're a god. You shouldn't encourage him." "Why not? I am a god." EDIT: Hmm...who could this be? Wit? Darkness? Taln? Some other herald? These glimpses are getting juicier!! Although common consensus is Kaladin talking to Syl, I'm going to say it is one of Sadeas' associates talking to Sadeas, concerning the fact that Sadeas got a spren and can surgebind. Then, in one of the climaxes, Kaladin has to take Sadeas down, cause he's acting like a fool and not adhereing to the ideals. Just going out on a limb
don_karma_II he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Its too headstrong and arrogant to be either Kaladin or Syl, unless they undergo a massive change in character and attitude, I don't see how it can be Kaladin or Syl. Only person I can think of is darkness. He already exhibits arrogance in Lift interlude, when he claims that no one is out of his reach. If he is a herald as we all speculate then years of long life and certain sects of people worshipping heralds has deluded him into thinking himself as a god. 1

Idk, it certainly seems to me like something Syl would say in a joking context. There's really nobody in the books so far that would be able to say that and be entirely serious, so it has to be someone that likes to joke around. Since we already know Rock is planning to build Syl a shrine, and that Kaladin disapproves, it's far more likely to be that instead of having to invent entirely new scenarios that have had almost zero evidence from the plot.
don_karma_II he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 The extra stress on 'am' makes me think it is a serious conversation and its a way to accentuate the amount of confidence the speaker puts in the sentence. So my thought went to Darkness as it was pretty obvious in his conversations in Lift interlude. If it was said in a joking context then it would certainly be Syl.
Swimmingly he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Or Shallan. I can see her making some sort of only slightly serious argument that her powers of transformation and creativity fit the Vorin descriptions of the Almighty. Though Syl and Kaladin having a similar conversation based on Syl either misunderstanding or being piercingly accurate about the human definition of a god is possible as well.

He sees her soulcast or teleport and sees her as a god, and the two philosophers turn it into a religious discussion, maybe? 1
SirVarrock he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 My first thought when I read that was shard. The Syl idea sounds reasonable though, given that she is possibly a Splinter of Honour.
Michael Portz he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Could it be Jasnah and Shallan discussing Yalb? He sees her soulcast or teleport and sees her as a god, and the two philosophers turn it into a religious discussion, maybe? I second that! Besides Kal, Syl and Rock its the only other triangle of people, where the two talking are on friendly terms and the third has a tendency to worship one of the first two. And Yalb has in my view a much greater potential to be a serious worshipper (aka one that has to be warned about) than Rock, who mostly seems to be able to keep an ironic distance. Havon Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 It's probably Lopin talking to one of his cousins. 2

(gibbers and goes a bit more insane from the glimpses..) It's good to know I wasn't the only one who thought this. More seriously, though, my second thought was that it was a Herald, but now I'm thinking Syl makes the most sense.

The Rooster he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm way into Keteks right now. I wrote one about the Glimpses of Radiance. Working, patiently Awaiting updates, release is soon, is release updated? Awaiting patiently worked! 8
Natans he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) HE COMES FOR YOU, LITTLE TRAITOR. I AM SORRY. Stormfather will punish Syl ? Edited February 17, 2014 by Natans 4
Peet Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hmm, who else talks in all caps? Haha, reminds me of the Dark One in Wheel of Time. 1
ccstat he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 My first thought was a warning to Syl about Darkness, but there are multiple other possibilities.
Moogle Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Oh gosh the newest Glimpse. I don't even know where to start. Stormfather talking to Shallan? Stormfather talking to Kaladin? Not the Stormfather talking to... someone? Adolin betraying someone? Kaladin betrayed Dalinar? I want this book so badly.
Swimmingly he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 This is when Syl's abusive ex from the Cognitive comes along and smacks Kal up good with his little fairy fists. Meanwhile, Jasnah is pregnant and she's not saying who the father is, and Adolin struggles with his addiction to the Thrill, prompting Renarin and Navani to plan an intervention. Tune in next week for more Stormlight Soap Opera! 7
Duskshard he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) HE COMES FOR YOU, LITTLE TRAITOR. I AM SORRY. The Almighty speaking to Kaladin or Dalinar? He comes for you - Refers to Odium? Little traitor - If it's the Almighty I don't know what or who he's referring to, everything he says is prerecorded, so he doen't know who he's addressing. If it's as some suggest and it's the Stormfather talking to Syl, then the traitor reference can be ascribed to Syl's defiance of him in coming to the physical realm to find someone to bond with. Telling her that Odiums coming for her, perhaps being an Honorspren she makes a good target for him to corrupt. Edited February 17, 2014 by Duskshard 1
WhiskeyJackDaniels he/him Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I think it's gotta be the Stormfather talking to Syl, my question is who is coming for her? Unless he meant so ethi g like Szeth is coming for Kaladin, and thus through him Syl, I'm not sure who has the ability or the inclination to attack spren. Obviously Odium himself springs to mind. I do t think it is a rogue herald, because they seem to get their powers independent from spren (from what we guess) and I'm not sure what power they would hold over Syl.
