Guy with death wish is convinced by the devil to destroy the world.

But then he kill future him and decides not to destroy the world, so he wipes his own memory and helps superhero kid without powers.

And eventually, past him convinces superhero kid that superhero kid is actually dead and is a zombie, and that he doesn’t have any powers, and that’s why he’s a superhero.

So mindwipe guy gets his memories back, and then dies but only sort of but then convince superhero kid that they both need to die to save the world, but then auperhero kid doesn’t die and he dies and the world is save hooray!
