I have not seen too many animes...I think I have seen only the following: Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7 (now), Death Note, Code Geass, Cowboy Beebop, Dragonball z (when I was younger) and Avatar the last airbender (not sure if it counts as a anime) It's American made so doesn't totally count as an anime......really really good though!

Also, there is discussion of the less pleasant aspects of zombie-ism, so squeamish people might not want to click. Spoiler OK. First, some background for those who haven't seen the show. Liv was a promising medical resident till a boat party gone wrong infected her with the zombie virus. She now works as a medical examiner to give her access to the brains she needs to eat in order to keep from going feral and losing her humanity. Fun side effects of brain eating include picking up exaggerated personality traits of the deceased and visions from the last days of their lives. She uses the visions to solve murders. She also comes up with interesting ways to prepare the brains with normal food items to make it psychologically easier for her to eat them (and more appropriate in semi-public). Ravi is her boss/friend/ally who figured out what was going on really quickly. He's been working on a cure. So there's a side character named Katty Kupps who used to be Ravi's boss when he worked at the CDC. She is, of course, killed under mysterious circumstances, so Liv feels obligated to try to solve her murder. Liv bakes the brain into a cupcake. It is...a KUPPCAKE. You're welcome. And the Corsair, the gender-switching Time Lord that Eleven talks about in The Doctor's Wife? S/he was actually originally mentioned in the Fourth Doctor story Shada, which never actually aired due to a BBC strike.
Oversleep Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I wish I could make clones with shared mind just so I could direct them to absorb popculture. I mean, Worm is longer than all of Harry Potter? Doctor Who has how many episodes? 1

You could kind of group them together in the fact that they are both animation made not for kids... But still a great show, although I haven't seen the new trailer yet, but I've heard that it is very good

I think they mean more that they figure in the same category as anime (although there's probably also anime for younger viewers), which I would suppose South Park would fit in too.

The Japanese incorporated and localized the pronunciation of an English word. It was then shortened for ease of use, and represents out to be a worldwide recognized genre. English > Japanese > Japanese slang > genre name = Partly English word used around the world to describe a distinct form of entertainment with a uniquely Japanese feel, even when it's not Japanese. 2

Shqueeves Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 (edited) I would if it wasn't for the fact that I don't want to and she doesn't want to do anything special to celebrate her birthday, which is a few days before mine Edited July 20, 2017 by Shqueeves
Ammanas Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 My favorite word to use to sound pretentious? It is "jejune". I almost want to slap myself after using it

Oversleep Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 The only thing scarier than what's happening is division of the minds of the people, one side completely unable to comprehend the other.
Silverblade5 he/him Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Corporate recently decided it would be a good idea to box all of our sandwiches instead of wrapping them.
