It's a new year! Time to try new things!

Culvers sucks and 2017 sucks!

Seriously, just stick with Smashburger.

Lies!! The mushroom melt and cheese curds are to die for!!

I didnt get to bed till 2 this morning and then had church.... I'm soooooo tired. Maybe not the best way to start the year lol. Still, I really hope that this year is better. I'm not sure how it could get worse for me than the last six months, so here's hoping.

I've tried Culver's….once. Was not impressed. It's not as terrible as some fast-food places, but there's nothing really special about it.

I may or may not have wondered why they chose to black out "bubonic" before realizing what the actual word was.

What was it?

Re: people not impressed by Culver's: did you try one of their concrete mixers? (Basically Culver's equivalent of a DQ Blizzard) I don't usually go there for meals, just for the frozen custard, because it's delicious!

I think that our equivalent of Culver's where I live is called Freddy's.

Are we 100% sure David Bowie hasn't just moved into another dimension and isn't slowly populating it?

Ahh, I see that I do not have to tell you about the Unofficial 17th Shard Chatroom Thread, as you have found it on your own. :)

Their mushroom burgers are, indeed, tasty.  However, Orlion is right - Smashburger is better.

This is the real reason to go to Culver's.

Actually, I think Freddy's is a bit more equivalent to Steak 'n Shake.  Which they're still sort of in the same genre, but Culver's is a bit more fast-foody than the other two.

The whatnow chatroom?

theres been this burger advertised here. So doughnuts are a staple Chanuka food. So they're selling burgers with doughnut bread. It sounds so incredibly gross.

D'oh.  Fixed the grammar; it should make more sense now.

(And really, that's what this Random Stuff thread series is.  It's totally like an ongoing chatroom.  It started as random nonsense and developed into a community thread.)

I also didn't realise you were talking to a new member round here so I thought I was missing out on something :o;)

I have entered another scholarship essay contest, which I think I fare a solid chance of succeeding in.

GOOD NEWS: If I win, I get a $5000, $2500, or $1500 scholarship.

BAD NEWS: If I win, I have to go to Texas.

...yee-haw, all. :P

East, Central, or West Texas?

Dallas, I believe. I sort of visualize Texas as an endless hellscape of dust, heat waves, and cowboy hats where I risk being lassoed and tossed over the border because of my Latino looks.

This is innacurate, I know, but still mildly intimidating. :P

You should come to Louisiana, where Santa rides in a sleigh drawn by flying alligators and gives pots of gumbo to all the good little Republicans. :P

EDIT: @Kobold King and @Briar King, would you like to regale us with an equally absurd view of what California is like?

Ha ha. Cali is JUST a few miles away from me in Louisiana.

Californians feed by raking organic granola off of their lawns. The stuff simply materializes out of dry oats floating in the air during droughts and is your primary source of sustenance during these difficult months, with the obvious exception being those times when you manage to run and down and feast upon Republicans. (With a nice side of vegan salad.)
