And then I started rereading old question threads, sometimes I forget just how much random insanity and hilarity occurred in those chats. You guys are all amazing. EDIT: Having reread some old plans I'm kind of tempted to have both the momentum twins still alive and having one hunt the other to Edmonton, their story was the one I probably planned the most, but I could tell it through flashbacks and general backstory too. Any thoughts? 2

Any thoughts? Sounds good! It sounds like just about everyone, myself included, is a fan of non defined borders and turf wars, so that sounds good. Are we starting it up soon? Also, what have we got down for initiating event so far?

I liked the idea of Orbit and Epoch and perhaps anyone else with political power now could have been working for the old Epic, and are now in a succession war. He could have been a weather Epic who kept the city in order, as well as using smaller manifestations for combat, with a strong healing PI.
The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) We should probably divide up the spaces with time borders now. Edited June 29, 2018 by The Young Pyromancer Something about form submission caused me to post the wrong thing at first

Any thoughts? And you're a much valuable part of that insanity. So get out you spaghetti with meat ball gun and meet me at the shooting range. Having an old character die off screen is always a bit meh, so I'd rather them both being alive at the start. 2 hours ago, Bladestorm said: I liked the idea of Orbit and Epoch and perhaps anyone else with political power now could have been working for the old Epic, and are now in a succession war. Yeah, a good old reckoning would be good to start things off. 2

I agree with starting things off with an assassination would be fun but would prefer no weather epic. With Snowfall in California, the weather epic in Alaska, and Rainmaker, we have a lot of major weather epics already. I’d also prefer if this epic hadn’t assumed complete control to explain the continued existence of the vanilla government but I’m down with them being more powerful.
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I'm probably waaaaaaaay too late to join, but how would I go about doing that?
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 It's never too late to join! What I would recommend is reading the past few pages of this thread (maybe 5 or 6) to get an idea of what we're doing. After that, ask whatever questions you have and a bunch of us will be here at answer them If you'd like, I can also link you to a Google doc to help make your first Epic. But you should read a bit first.
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Yeah, okay. I have a good... 9? Yeah, 9 epics, but I haven't really thought of the weaknesses.
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 That's fine, they can be a bit tricky to figure out. Feel free to post your epics here. We do have a few guidelines on epics, in order to allow a better story, so we like to look at them as a community before adding them to the roster of epics.
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Only two really stand out to me, so here they are: Spoiler Name: Earthraiser Power: As his name suggests, he can control earth(ground, bits of rock, grass), think microbots from big hero 6. He has limits on how much he can control, about half a ton. (1000 pounds). He has a danger sense tied to the earth, so a wall of dirt would jump up and stop bullets or swords or whatever. (That was his prime invincibility) Skilled at "flying" through the ground, by manipulating the ground. Gender: male Personality: arrogant, abrasive, and cruel. He only trusts a single epic, his associate Obsidian. He condescends practically everyone and does his best to kill anyone who gets in his way, especially epics. Weakness: his greatest fear, his weakness, is that someone will see through his many lies. Spoiler Name: Obsidian Power: able to "cut" dense object's into any shape he desires, he only must touch it once then remain within five feet of it. Thus, he can create weapons with ease and rapidity. Also has minor hallucinative powers. Gender: male Personality: discrininative of vanillas and deeply hates fellow epics. Very tentative on the inside. Partners with Earthraiser. Weakness: I haven't thought of one yet, though it matters less since he isn't a high epic.
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Neat ideas! Do you think you could expand a bit more on Obsidian's hallucinative powers? And what are the limitations on what is considered "earth" for Earthraiser?
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Earthraiser can lift the following: dirt, mud, soil, sand, smaller rocks, bits of grass, etc. Pretty much any of those in states that are only PHYSICAL CHANGES from the originals. No glass(smelted sand) or other chemical changes like that. Obsidian can make 5 or 6 people see believable or plausible hallucinationsif they aren't focused, 1 or 2 if they ARE focused.
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 When he lifts stuff up, does it stick together very strongly or does it still act like normal ground? Does believable/plausible refer to Obsidian's definition or the target's definition? And focused on what?
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 He can will it to stick together. Hallucinations are based on situation. It has to be plausible in the situation.
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) For the plausibility, I just know that different people have different feelings about what is plausible and what isn't. Whose definition are his powers limited by? Say for example someone is super jaded to epic powers versus someone whose never even seen one before. Edited June 29, 2018 by Weirdpersonx
BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Probably the jaded one, there is a larger amount of people used to that, therefore it is more likely to be plausible in the situation. The definition of the one he is making hallucinations for.
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Awesome. That makes the most sense to me. Do you have any thoughts about where they would go in Edmonton? We haven't actually started the RP there yet, we're still worldbuilding.

BitBitio he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Most of the others, aside from one, kinda suck. A, a lot.

Comatose he/him Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Welcome here Bitbio!! Not a bad idea to start with one or two and seeing how it goes before getting carried away.
