There's something up with that "t".....I can't place it, it seems to be exerting a strange aura. Hmmmm, will examine further.

I think that's because 'the' is an article and it shouldn't be capitalised? The 'L' seems out of place though :P

NOOOO, I had written a whole thesis on the matter!!! Almost 4 paragraphs long and counting in the intentions to find the answer! But then I went "show reply" to see ur reply....and it all went away!!

I will try and rewrite it all here

===========================================

Aha! I have finally figured out the meaning of this! After further analysis on the subject I have come to determine that the strange aura was caused by this.

Each letter seems to have a cognitive density of 1 (for lack of better terminology), but since

Is an acronym, each letter here represents a whole word, a whole idea, hence their increased cognitive density (T=The, The=3, T=3)

However each of the other letters of the acronym have equal to or more cognitive density, why the strange aura? I shall continue to answer this later for I have noticed this

(I will explain the lower-case later as well) WHY? Why substitute the T for the L? To the untrained eye, it may seem like a common mistake, however ever since my Ascension, I have begun to see with more....clarity. I appear to be able to see everything's Cognitive self, as well as a shadow of their spiritual self, in their Physical self however, I can sense cognitive density as well as Investiture density.

The L, the next letter after the already represented "A" in All, seems to have automatically made the user subsitute itself in place of the "t", I have deduced that due to the original t's strange aura, another t may have ruptured the very fabric of reality. That brings me to my first question. Why the strange aura of the "t"?

Well, since "t" represents the which is an article hence the lowercase. But since the is one of the most complex words known, and since it's the hardest to explain without use of multiple examples, not to mention how many meanings it has as well as ways it can be used (after consulting the dictionary of course, did I find proof) and I have almost failed to say that it is one of the most commonly used words, it's cognitive density is far, far, far, indefinably far more than another word with three points of cognitive density. Have you ever seen a proper, common, used acronym with two "the"s in it? I think not fair sirs, for the continued use would lead to far worse than the investiture or heat death of the cosmere and universe respectively.

Burnt sold me enough on the concept of this to get me to temporarily dehiatus and join this game without reading the rules.

Wait while I roll some dice...

Okay, so I've basically dropped off the map internet for the last couple months, but hey, I'm back now, and there's no better way than in a good ol' rousing game of kill-the-other-person-before-you-die-all-the-deaths. (Or KtOPBYDALD for short.)

I'll have my character be called Emrys Morge.

What does the L stand for? :P

EDIT: did not see the fifth page. So, Ninja'd, sort of.

Nyali, your game concept got someone to deHiatus and join this game.  Kudos.  Burnt, Kudos for selling the concept. :P

Also, I'm probably going to die so quickly this game.  -sigh-  But hey, we might beat the LG record yet.

So my character will be Orik Ironfist. He's a shortish stocky fellow with a long red braided beard, sometimes, but is always wearing a green cap with a red feather in it. He always comes across as an amiable fellow, happy to make new friends. Fancies himself a bit of a collector, and has an eye for something shiny. He's currently searching for the thief who stole a special piece of his collection of trinkets.

I just realized that despite the verbosity of my rules, I forgot something important.

Vote in red. Retract a vote in green. Please do not edit old posts to retract (unless it was like, the very last post made, of course) - put it in a current/new post. That makes it much easier to track for both players and GMs.

It's somewhat amusing that you put everything else, and forgot to tell us how to vote.

Pssh, it's totally not that important <.<

I guess I'm so used to every game having the same voting rules, I keep thinking it's in the general rules or something.

Well, to be fair, that's in the SE General Rules, and all games go off the same format.

Oh, well, that's why I forgot to mention it then <.< Someone asked about it, and I realized I hadn't actually stated it. So, uhh, yeah. Carry on!

Well, you guys were pretty close, but the "L" stands for "Lame." All Lame Deaths. I'm still kinda hung up on an MR game in the mountains. I died to a butter knife guys, a butter knife. In the back! I have also been killed by a shovel, fallen off a vehicle of some kind, and I think I might have been eaten by some kind of creature once. So I have experience.

All Lame Deaths indeed.

:) That was a QF. QF11, specifically. And that was me. Thanks for reminding me! I was thinking about that death the other day, and I couldn't remember who I'd killed with that. :P

Question though: would you rather be killed by having your throat slit/dagger in the back/run over by a car or by a butter knife to your back? Or a shovel to the head?

I'd go with the second category, personally. Sure, it's lame, but it's different. It's memorable. And it's pretty freaking hilarious. I mean, you can't really tell stories about that time you got stabbed in the back or had your throat slit while you were sleeping. But that time someone tried to spike you but slipped and ended up spiking you straight through the neck, killing you? Or that time a hoard of crazed people drowned you in other peoples' blood (which, side note, is not lame, but horribly disgusting)? Yeah, those you remember. Those stick with you.

So, yeah. Those "lame" deaths? They bring that amused ire that keeps you talking about it months or even years after it happened. Much better than being killed by a common dagger. :)

Surprise! Oh wait, you're not surprised.... (Sorry about waiting until close to the last minute though.)

I was thinking about taking a short break after the last game, but I should have time for this one. Also, the rules are too well written and the idea of individualized win conditions is too interesting for me to pass this one up. So I'd like to join as Lily. Just be warned that I won't be super active.

El can no longer complain about being killed by bubbles! Thanks for the clutch Wilson :P

Doesn't mean I can't kill you the same way in revenge. :P Just because it was amusing doesn't mean you're off the hook for that.

And then there were 33. :P @Nyali, were you ready for this?

Ope.  That was fast.  You edited him in, ninja'ing me in the process. :P  Well I'll be confuddled.  You tapping steel or something?

That still makes 33.  A new role is needed for Stink.

Zinc.

I have 33 characters done now, though the 33rd has no background written and probably won't get one. I'm still working through the background for #32, and I think that's the last background I have the time and energy to write.

I'm running out of ideas fast though. If anyone else joins, well, we have ONE idea left, and then I'm out of ideas entirely, and that last one isn't fully formed.

Yeah, my old one was designed to be square, but square avatars aren't a thing anymore, apparently... So I refreshed it! Much happier with it, I think.

Little under two hours left, eh? I've been thinking about creating a game with individual win conditions for a while now, so I am very excited to see how this one will unfold. @Nyali, if you could guess, at what time between the close of sign ups and start of the game do you think we'll receive our role PMs? I only ask because I have a theory that play styles are going to be heavily dictated by role assignment (unless people choose to outright ignore it), but even then, I think everyone would benefit from some time pre-game to contemplate specific tactics for their role.

Oh and, good luck / have fun, everyone!

It'd be instant, but then more people joined and we're still finalizing the new roles and rejiggering the casting. I totally agree that people will have questions and want to send them out asap. We'll see what happens. If no one else joins, El should have a role distribution down soon, and then we can start sending them out when signups end.
