Hi! How's life?

Not bad. I learned today that my request for leave was approved, so I'll need to book a flight back to Spokane tonight or tomorrow. Kind of procrastinating there, though. I was kind of looking forward to the trip when I knew that I'd only have to deal with Twimom and Twidad, but now that Grandmother is officially moved into a house five minutes away from them, I'm not exactly looking forward to seeing her this Christmas. She's passive aggressive and makes everything about her, and she chews her food really really loudly. Like, there have been times I've had to bolt down my food and leave the table because I couldn't handle it.

Argh. Sorry to bring things down. Life is decent. How about you?

It's 3:20 am and I'm getting up at 7 and why am I doing it to myself? Again?

For the past two hours or more I've been telling myself "time to sleep...oh I'll just check that website. And that. And check Brandon's reddit. And check this...".

Both busy and slow. I think the brain weasels are starting to get hungry. I need to go out and do things and talk to people. :/

Yup I'm in that boat. Turn off phone, toss and turn, hey let's see if anyone is on the shard.

Edit: wait it's not busy and slow. It's stressful and slow. Not a great combination :l. Hugs are welcome, people.

Posted some new memes to the "What Happened in Portland" reaction thread.

Update as of almost 1am MDT: Whoa. Sudden plague of spam topics in the General Brandon Discussion. @Chaos, did you delete those just now?

When you report, there is usually a staff member to remove the spammer.

Anybody else feel like celebrating Samhain this year instead of Halloween? I'm up for it.

I generally do both.  Pagan + costumer = why choose just one part of the holiday when I can have it ALL?

edit:  WHOA.  My rep title changed!  That hasn't happened in forever.

I was going to PM one of you admins, but while I was waffling about specifically which one of you to message since I wasn't sure whose responsibility it would be, I looked back at the General Brandon Discussion and poof! All the spam topics were already gone. So kudos to y'all for such quick cleanup. :)

Never PM us for spam; always use the report feature. If you do both we get two emails about the same thing which is annoying. It's annoying enough when multiple people report the same content as spam :)

Well I know that we regular users have been advised to report a user rather than an individual post or topic when there's somebody flooding the forums with spam, but I couldn't figure out how to report the user. And then the spam got deleted so fast it was moot point. XD

You can report any post the member does. You need not report every piece of content of spam. What happens is we get an email and it is a single button press to flag the user as a spammer, which automatically removes all the posts. So one will do.

It was probably, deep down, more about the power play than trying to help his grades. Kind of like a parent lecturing their child for twenty minutes about how much time they're wasting by dawdling. The lecture makes things worse, but the parent feels better.

That is sooo true, dad does that all the time. And he does other stupid stuff too. He complains that all I do is eat when I'm making him storming breakfast!

And yesterday, he yelled at me for "slamming" the fridge door, when in fact I had closed it normally. Then he "demonstrates" how I slammed it BY SLAMMING THE DOOR. Like eight times. I feel sorry for the door

EDIT- @bleeder, mum's mostly at work, and when she's at home she's either sleeping or watching her shows, and when she's not, she's cleaning, cooking etc etc She tries to stop dad when she can. She's called him "The Dictator" a couple of times lol.

*really slow applause*

I could get up at 6:30 and be ready for school by 7.

But no, I get up at 5:30 or 6, and eat breakfast, get dressed, then stare at my chromebook screen for an hour or so.

I'm in. How is it celebrated?

The most important piece is remembering those who have departed, usually beloved family or friends.  Special attention is often given to people who have died in the past year.  Some folks will also do a general ancestor veneration ritual for the generations whose names they do not know.

Some people like to leave food outside the door on Samhain night for the ancestors.  Guided meditations/spirit walks to say goodbye to those who have passed are things that are often done.  It's also considered the best time of year for divination work.
