ShadowLord_Lith he/him Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 *long...slow...going-down-in-pitch...whistle* Well. That's impressive.
Sunbird she/her Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I had a couple of "wait, what?" moments today: 1. During my walk to the bus stop this morning, my sock somehow managed to wriggle its way more than halfway off my foot. I'd only walked one block and was wearing tennis shoes. O_o 2. I made shell pasta for dinner tonight out of a box. When I went to dump the shell noodles in the pot, a bunch of them stuck to the inside of the box. ??
Mistrunner Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I have an important question. What should I be for Halloween? This is very important, as for the football game closest to Halloween the band is actually wearing costumes for the marching show. 'Twill be quite fabulous indeed. 4
ShadowLord_Lith he/him Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 What do you look like? I'm thin and look good in a tweed jacket, so going to go as a college professor. You should go as something you like, and something that you feel looks similar to you. Does that help?
ShadowLord_Lith he/him Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 What do you look like? I'm thin and look good in a tweed jacket, so going to go trick or treating as a college professor. You should go as something you like, and something that you feel looks similar to you. Does that help?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 @Mistbornwithakitty, quick question about Wattpad. I requested a cover from an artist there, but it looks like it's going to take a few days at least. Should I post my story in the meantime, or wait until the cover is finished?

We have the same appearance, then, my friend. Eleventh Doctor is a good idea for a build like ours.

My brother has the hat, so once he gets a blue vest, he can go as Dipper. 乁(ツ)ㄏ Edited October 22, 2016 by The Honor Spren We'll, we'll, we'll, if it isn't autocorrect. 6

I haven't actually used that word since, I think, last February (that's a guess). And that costume idea is brilliant. I need sleep. Good night, all.
Mistrunner Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Thanks for the ideas, guys. It's just been kinda hard to find a character that works with my medium-short blonde hair. (Lookin' at you, Kate Bishop.)

Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight has probably the best handle on things. Different polls can vary wildly, but he aggregates all the data, weights it by how reliable a particular poll is likely to be, and then feeds in a bunch of historical data as well. This is very important, as for the football game closest to Halloween the band is actually wearing costumes for the marching show. 'Twill be quite fabulous indeed. I think the most important thing to consider will be, Can you march in Costume X? You don't want to go, for example, as a vampire with a floor-length gown and long, inconvenient flowy sleeves. Also important: what has the weather been like lately in your area? Marching is hard work, so if the weather's been warm lately you probably want a costume that won't bake you alive. (On the other hand, football games happen largely after the sun has gone down, so you might want something warmer for the portion of the game where you're not on the field marching.) If you are looking for Sanderson costume ideas, you could probably go as a Mistborn, provided your mistcloak is short enough not to get underfoot. You'd also be able to adjust for temperature; I've seen Mistborn costumes that include a waistcoat or vest and others that just use an old-fashioned, sort of Renaissance-style blouse up top (worn by women, obviously). Remind me again what instrument you play in the band? It's not mellophone, is it? You might be able to put together a punny costume based on your instrument. 1

It is not about dressing about someone or something, it is about being as weird and scary as possible. You could in theory wear a bag over your head as long as you make it look terrifying. 1 hour ago, Edgedancer said: So your dog thinks she's a superior being and that everyone should obey her very whims? That'd probably be pretty spooky. That sounds like their new ploy in taking over the spot as number one pet.

October is always a strange month when it comes to weather. It could be anything from 80 degrees to a freezing downpour. Being a mistborn is quite tempting. I'm not sure if I can cobble a costume together with the time constraints, though. I knew I should've gotten on this earlier, but... essays... A mistborn costume shouldn't be that hard, though, right? I play baritone. I'll see what puns I can come up with.
