Quick Fix Game 15: Death Note

Joseph Busshu reveled in the chase. The wind whipping past his ears, the crowd before him crying out in surprise as he barreled past them, the Investigators falling further and further behind as he made his way through the city.

 

He couldn’t lose them. There were too many witnesses, but none of them knew where he was going, and once he was in his safehouse, he could wait out their siege, and kill them one at a time.

 

“Ryuk!” He yelled. “How far behind me are they?”

 

The Shinigami was suddenly there beside him, having been effortlessly keeping pace with him in the air. “About two blocks. I can barely make out their names from here.”

 

Far enough. He suddenly turned, running down an alleyway between a toystore and a bakery. At the far end was a dirty, worn down wooden door. He slammed into it at full speed, breaking through it and into the dirty room beyond. It was empty, save for a firepit, and two dirty men sleeping by the wall.

 

And a Large, metal door with a keyboard attached. He rapidly pulled it out and typed in the 27 character password. The keyboard retracted into the wall, and the door slowly swung open. He dived into the safehouse and slammed the door shut behind him. He leaned back against the cod surface, panting from the sprint.

 

"Ryuk, go out there, tell me if you can see them."

 

There was a pause, then Ryuk poked his head out of the door right above him. They're just coming in now."

 

"Good." He straightened, walked over to the bank of computers, and flipped the switch. The system buzzed into life, and he could suddenly hear their frantic words out there. The intercom still worked, despite him not having been there for over a year. He pressed down on the talk button so that those outside could hear him.

 

"Hello friends and foes. I'd apologize for killing M and L, but they were too much of a threat to me. But, you all aren't. I'm willing to work with you all to cleanse this world. We don't have to be enemies. We can be gods together of this new world I'm making."

So, hello everyone. It's good to be honest. I am Ryuk's Holder, as some of you have figured out. And I have a proposotion for you. Leave me alive. My information can't die with me, since I told it all to my Partner/Boss, and if you lynch me, then my death note simply gets passed on, and you have a new person to hunt. Right now you know half the eliminators, why change that? Focus on finding Ryuk, and leave me alive.

 

Now then, who should I kill tonight? One of the murderous brothers? The last Police officer? The FBI Agent? A random civilian? I'll let you people decide, if you let me live until you catch Ryuk.

So.. Elbe and Aman were two people that Con really trusted, so they are maybe cleared. Also, Joe, how are you the Holder if the previous one hasn't died yet?

.... Joe, you know that I'm killing you whenever you try be a town leader/info center in subsequent games, right?

 

I'm more of a mind to get the murderers to put in a kill on Joe tonight, and we lynch someone else. Also, who roleclaimed to Joe? Given the Ryuk knows anything Joe does, it's worth considering telling the village, so that at least they can make use of that information too.

Elodin, what the heck. Why in the name of sanity are you believing a claimed Holder? About anything, let alone something like Ryuk's identity?

That said. I don't know if we should lynch Joe. It wastes all discussion for today (although we can mitigate that by setting up a secondary lynch for the murderers, probably), plus just makes Ryuk's job easier. A kill and a conversion are to a certain extent the same thing, in that both of them get rid of one Villager. Plus, if we kill the Holder, we have no idea who the next one will be. A known threat is better than an unknown, in my opinion. We don't really care about the Holder. Ryuk's the important one to find and kill.

Well, I told Lopen something was off about Joe.

 

Did the Murderer with the kill last cycle use it? I'm thinking that Ryuk might have the same hidden passive that L did. So, if you're a Murderer that made a kill last night, but it was blocked, please come forward.

I'm trying to teach people not not let all the information fall into one person's hands. Don't let Mayors exist people!

Also, Alv posted the rules for corrupt Police in the writeup. Check the bottom spoiler. It also reveals why Luna and I lynched Con instead of killing him.

The beat thing is, LUNA is Ryuk. But there's absolutely no way to verify what I'm saying now that L is dead, and there's no way you guys will actually believe me, since why would the Holder reveal Ryuk? Don't worry LUNA, they'll believe you're innocent forever now.

Don't lynch Joe. Having him alive means we know who the holder is and will force Ryuk to waste a kill if they want to be secret again.

Basically, we get the murderers to kill Luna in a cycle or two. Luna, have you roleclaimed to anyone?  

 

Also, at least we don't have to worry about what how to deal with the cop now.... 

 

With Meta and Aman being taken out, and Joe being Holder (unless he's actually Ryuk trying to psyche us out..), I'd expect Ryuk to be a newer player (although not necessarily brand new), so more like Elb, Araenae, Burnt or Ripple. I have to go now though. So investigations later...

L has confirmed to me that I am innocent. He has also told me something that makes me believe completely he is L. We're going to start scanning the few Police officers that have claimed, so that we can find L a better spokesperson than I.

What?... how?... why? Why did conquest or not debate this. By proxy atleast, he could have.

Let this be a lesson to all confirmed good roles - never reveal unless your SURE that your soon to be proxy is good.

Either way, it's incredibly lucky that Conquestor was active at the same time as Luna, eh? Otherwise, how would she have voted for him, Joe. She'd have had to ake up a lie for suspecting a new player, which would have been very hard in this case.

So, all I'm saying is that either joe is bluffing and making us waste a lynch, or he's betraying Luna due to a row between them. The former seems more probable.

EDIT: I hadn't refreshed my tab since 2 hours ago. My info wass outdated.

Joe. I suspect the plan of this plot is to make us kill joe for Ryuk so s/he doesn't have to waste a turn killing joe himself / herself.
