I just beat a mute person to death... Good thing Rae was a Traitor!  B)

Anyways, I had a PM with Arraenae(which means I'm loyal of course  ;)). She told me she was a Non-Specialist, and then last Night Turn, she asked me what I thought of Ada's alignment, to which I replied saying I was a little suspicious of him. She said she was suspicious of him because she thought his vote on Anamaximder was really sudden and that she thought he just wanted someone to die and chose Anamaximder because he couldn't fight back. She said she thought she might be tunneling on him, but that every time she had been suspicious of him before, she was right, so she was gonna stay suspicious. That's about it.

I don't think anyone ever mentioned Arraenae to me except STINK last Night Turn(he said he was suspicious of her, to which I replied that I wasn't...whoops).

Beating a mute person to death, kinda like AG2.

LUNA, this is in response to your post last Cycle.

1. I don't remember you really saying you were against Maill getting lynched. Your one post to Stink about Maill could be interpreted that way I guess, but it wasn't that much of a defense for Maill. Anyways, let's say you did defend Maill. If you killed him as an eliminator, that might make you look a little better wouldn't it? So why would killing Maill be a bad idea?

2. Awesome! I agree that it's better to be somewhat aggressive if you want to get anything done.

3. I'm surprised you didn't think about voting on Arraenae. As for me, like I said above, I think it's better to be aggressive to get things done. So my "fierce attack" on you isn't personal or anything, but if I'm suspicious of someone, I try to list all of the reasons for why I feel that way. (I'm a dude, btw. So are Stink and Ada.)

4. As far as I'm concerned, you don't have to talk to me in the PM I made. But I just thought it was odd that you would reply sometimes, but sometimes you'd just look at the PM and never say anything in response(especially when I asked you what you thought about Mailliw, and you didn't say anything, and then he died). If you'd rather keep your interactions solely in the thread, just say so. I won't be offended if you don't want to talk to me.

5. Thank you for responding.

So I was asked about my thoughts on STINK and the seeker in a PM and decided I could actually share the same thoughts down here as well especially since I am still on vacation severely limiting my ability to post often.

I don't think that the traitors would really sacrifice one of their own at this point, not really worth it in my opinion. Just in case I wouldn't be against STINK being scanned as well.

One point in favour of the 'sacrifice to gain trust' theory is that Arraenae had just used her assassination prior to being lynched. If we see Arraenae disappear from the shard then it could be a case of eliminator having to go inactive so sacrificing for trust before inactivity sets in.

At this point I would most likely think they are good.

Also if you want to stick me on the mission I will be active enough to put in my orders.

Just want to let everyone know that I have thoughts on everything that's happened so far but I won't be able to get them written up as fast as I normally would, thanks to work and me now preparing to run the next QF. That being said, Traitors, feel free to attack me tonight. I promise I won't be protected

You're the leader this cycle, Lopen, so it's your call. I have no reason to object.

Well it's not like I can do anything I want without repercussions, y'know? Plus, someone's supposed to be all like "um, hmm, I don't want you to send this person, 'cause they're my Traitor buddy with a good role," and stuff. Anyways, I was thinking since LUNA could possibly get lynched next(nothing's set in stone here of course, but she's certainly a possibility), if she is a Traitor, it might not be a good idea to let them get an extra kill by putting her on the mission when her life might be thought of as in danger. So since Clanky has so graciously volunteered, I'll switch him with LUNA for that reason. I'm gonna send in the order right now, and I'm not sure I'll be able to change it.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts Ada. (I'm not telepathic at all! Nope. )

So, in Rae's last post, she wanted us to believe that BB and LUNA are innocent via white text. I don't know what to make of it, just something I noticed due to sparking tablet browsers.

That happened? That's interesting, but probably trying to get you to suspect us. I have no connection to Rae at all, and have no idea why they would do that.

(For the record, I could totally fix that tablet in 30 seconds normally. I was just told to never accept tablets from strangers. And mom was right!)

Edit: I was told in a PM that some of my posts might look like me roleclaiming hacker. I'm not intentionally roleclaiming at all, that's just my character, and I planned for him to act like that from the beginning.

OH man, sorry, guys. I was gonna send in a vote in the last forum, but I put down the computer and ended up going to a friends birthday party and well, ya. haha sorry.

So are you putting me on the mission? or nah? Because I am down for going or not tbh.

I wanted to say a few things before the mission.

First, I didn’t examine the Rae being evil scenario very well yesterday--I made it look like I thought that would immediately clear the scanner and Stink. So now I’ll address that better now.

It is possible the scanner was throwing Rae under the bus to build trust. The assassination during the last night could indicate they knew Rae would probably be lynched because of their plans. However, I doubt that. The traitors may have known Rae was under enough suspicion that they shouldn’t wait too long for an assassination anyway. Unless something comes up to cast doubt on the scanner’s alignment, I’d trust them.

The fact that Stink was involved in this doesn’t clear him. The scanner didn’t choose him because of any information they had about his alignment. While it is likely he would have killed the scanner if he was evil, it is possible he didn’t learn they were the scanner until it was a bit late to change the kill. It is also possible he thought someone could know that he knew who the scanner was, so their death would point toward him. On the other hand, I felt like the way Stink revealed was pretty village. I also think that if the eliminators had had the foreknowledge they would have had if Stink was evil, Rae would have put up a better defense and she wouldn’t have tried to cast suspicion on both Stink and the scanner the way she did. I’m willing to tentatively trust Stink for now.

Now for thoughts for the scanner. They should be keeping in mind that the False Trails role could be out there, and it is not like Copper in previous games because it doesn’t reveal that someone was covered. Rae wasn’t covered by it, but other eliminators might be. So a loyal scan cannot be trusted completely. With one eliminator gone, if they have that role it is less likely for the scanner to find an uncovered eliminator. If they have the chance, it would be good if the scanner can team up with a data gatherer so they can both scan the same person. Then if the person doesn’t come up as a non-specialist, a loyal scan can be trusted as long as the data gatherer is trustworthy. Also, don’t scan the most obvious target or make it obvious in the thread who you are scanning. That would guarantee that if the eliminators have false trails and that person is an eliminator they will be covered.

The players for the mission have been chosen. Lopen has chosen Araris, Clanky, TheSilverDragon and luckat. I will need to hear back from them before the end of the Night Turn at 8PM on Thursday.

I've also edited in a vote I forgot.

Sooo, someone made Shallan vote on STINK? That's funny. I would first think it was a Traitor Well-Connected player because Arraenae was a Traitor, but I'm not sure if that would have been a good idea, since it would show us they have the Well-Connected role. Still, it's possible that they moved a vote pretty early on, when it was still close(the votes were 3:1 against Arraenae for awhile until luckat voted) and then never got on again to cancel their action or something. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Posted

Well Lopen, it is possible someone just wanted a way to potentially prove that they aren't an eliminator at a later point, or that they do indeed have the Well-connected role. That would be my best guess.

Posted

Sure, I can understand doing that. It does mean that they didn't send in the Traitor kill at least. However, why did they move a vote on to Stink? If I was in their position, I probably would have just moved the vote ON an inactive. That way, there is no risky of it doing anything potentially game/lynch changing.

Posted

You know, that is a good point. When you said that, I was lazy and didn't actually look up at the vote tally. That makes me think what you said, about a player sending in an order earlier and not getting back on, is more likely to be true. And them being an eliminator might make sense if they were aware STINK might be going to reveal something like what he did.

Yeah, please remember that those on the mission should not be posting on the thread.

Day 4: Unwelcome Help

“It's kind of a bit boring without everyone here,” Ripple muttered.

“We're only missing four of us. We need some people to actually do the work we're being paid for,” Citona pointed out.

“Yeah, but another four are six feet under,” he pointed out. “That makes it less interesting. And it's no fun being the only sober guy either."

“What about Dragonsight?”

“Oh yeah,” Ripple nodded. Then he frowned. “What is a dragon, anyway?” He got a shrug in response. “Well, whatever.” He licked his lips, his mouth feeling a little dry. “Back in a sec, just gonna grab another drink.” He stood up with his glass and went over to the bar. When he was not served, he poked his head over the counter and looked in both directions. Either their employer's assistant was just being her bothersome self, or she was gone. He put his hand on the counter to give himself more leverage, and almost bashed his chin on the wood as it slipped from under him. “Uh, guys?” he shouted back at them all.

“What?” Avis asked, jolting upright at the loud call, looking towards the counter from the table he was slumped over, over the rim of his glass. “What's up?”

Ripple picked up the sheet of paper that had been dropped on the bar and had been inadvertently scattered by his hand. “Weird,” he muttered as his eyes traced the page. “What do you guys make of this?” He cleared his throat.

“''nails hammer solar muffins
ignite create toxic
run errand paper fourth
change storm dark good bad
fight never always goal
finish point books
less five mini reverse.'”

“Sounds like rusting nonsense to me,” Avis replied. “Where'd you get it?”

“It was on here,” Ripple gestured at the counter. “Oh, wait, there's something on the back.” He turned it over. “Or the front, I guess.” Unlike the hastily scrawled attempt at poetry on the back, the front side of the sheet made a lot more sense, and was written neatly by a steady and stern hand. “Guess this explains where whatshername's gone.”

“So? What does it say?” Citona asked.

“Just says she's fed up of this all today, and so she's gone home. And that she's locked away most of the liquor.” He looked over at them. “Oh, and there's a key here too. She wants us to lock up after we've left. Can she even do this? Won't Feis get annoyed at her?”

“Apparently she's not one to care about that,” Lopen muttered, standing up. “Well, no rusting way I'm staying here if I have to be this sober. Anyone else want to go to a proper place to get smashed?”

“What about locking up?” Ripple asked.

Lopen shrugged. “Eh, you can do it. Not like you'll come with us.”

“And if I have other plans tonight?”

Lopen's eyes narrowed. “Do I have to beat a confession out of you too?”

There was a moment when it looked as though something might happen, that the tension might snap and the room devolve into a violent mess, but then Elbe spoke up. “I'll do it. No need to bite his head off.”

Lopen looked over at Elbe, and then folded his arms. “Tch. See if I care. See you guys later than, I'm off to get properly drunk.”

Room by room, Elbe went around and closed all the windows, turned off all the lights, and locked all the doors. It was soothing, in a way, to be alone in this dark building. Life recently had been so loud, thanks to all the others here. It was a shame that Niter had turned out to be a treacherous bastard, really. His tablet may have been annoying at times, but at least he kept himself to himself and didn't shout across rooms, or anything. She felt as though he had a kindred spirit in him, at least up until a few hours ago.

She lowered a set of blinds by the window, obscuring everything in the room from the glow of the pale moon outside. It wouldn't do for passers-by to see any contraband or evidence of their plotting. The maps were still laid out across the table, some stains on them, and a lot of their Mistrunner tools were lying around as well. The tools weren't incriminating on their own, but in this quantity (and with the maps too), questions would be asked.

She swept screwdrivers and a box of spikes and other assorted items into a bag, and went behind the bar to hide them. She opened a cupboard and stuffed them in there, careful not to scratch herself on any jagged or loose ends.

She stood up, and suddenly there was someone in front of her. She jumped, before feeling a bit silly. There was the counter between her and the guy, and all she'd done was made herself look foolish. Well, it was dark, so hopefully he hadn't been seen her do that.

“Everything locked up?”

“What? Oh, yeah,” Elbe smiled a bit as her heart started to settle. “Yeah, everything's about done. Just got to lock the door on the way out.” She left the staff area, closing the counter-top behind her.

“Good, good.” He suddenly darted forwards in a burst of superhuman, Feruchemical speed. The only warning was the sound of his feet moving, she could hardly see at all in this darkness. With no time to defend herself, his knife was buried in her throat before she could even react.

“Yeah,” he said, reaching down with a gloved hand. “Probably shoulda turned the lights off last, eh? Then you'd have noticed that you weren't alone, and my knife, and the metalmind, and everything.” He took the key from her pocket. “Don't worry though, I'll make sure to lock the door behind me.” He tossed it up in the air and caught it with his other hand. “See you tomorrow.”

The Day will end on Sat at 8PM GMT.

Might as well start this off since I had a pretty consistent dialogue with the player the Traitors killed this time, so I will start off by outlining everything we discussed. A vast majority of it was miscellaneous discussion regarding what she is up to in school, Bands of Mourning (and how it affects the LG we will be running sometime this year) and a Mistborn elimination game she is working on currently. First thing we talked about regarding this game was that she was suspicious of Clanky and that Rae had asked Elby what she thought about BB in a PM. I explained that Clanky was at the top of my trust list because I had a theory Rae was defending Anamax from Clanky because they were evil together. In regards to BB I said that he's interesting because Rae voted for him D1 for voting for Kyn for RP reasons, which could mean that either Kyn is a Traitor and she was trying to defend him or BB is a Traitor and she was trying to distance herself from him in case one or the other got found out. She said she could see the Anamax being evil and that she felt it was more likely Rae was distancing herself from BB. She also said that a post he made towards the end of N1 was what made her particularly suspicious of him, but could not remember which and would look it up after she finished her Calc homework (she never looked it up =\). Next thing she informed me was that she was going to send a PM to a bunch the inactive players (specifically Elk, Phatt, Ripple, Kynedath and BB) to get them to post and ask a couple questions. She also later included Clanky because she wanted to say something to him. Conversation got off topic again for awhile until she told me she had new-found suspicion of Hellscythe for trying to cast suspicion on Stink to prevent him from being soft confirmed. Her last PM was that HS said he trusted Clanky, which was the exact opposite of her intuition, which made her more suspicious of Hellscythe. Before turn over I replied that I felt similarly suspicious of Hellscythe, mostly because I have seen him on the forums yet not posting, especially after I confronted him on D2 about never posting what ideas he had regarding the mission.

So yeah. Thoughts, anyone?

I figure I'll do this at the beginning of every Day, since it could prove useful.

Players online during the Night Turn(since I didn't get on right when the Day thread went up, this might not be 100% accurate, but I figure it probably is):

Stink - online

Anamaximder - online

Hellscythe - online

Kynedath - online

Shallan - NOT online

phattemer - online

Ripple - online

Elkanah - the last time he was online was about 6 hours after the planning stage had begun

Bridge Boy - online

Adavantos - online

Lopen - online

LUNA - online

Those on the mission:

Araris - online

Clanky - online

luckat - online

SilverDragon - online

My PM with Elbereth was very similar to what Adavantos posted(except my end of it was fairly different of course). I'll put the relevant parts of it in here a little later though I guess.

Posted

Elbereth did send me a PM. PM had aforementioned questions, and I responded with my answers. Due to lack of time I can't go and copy paste them immediately, but I'll try to do that before the end of the cycle.
